"This restaurant came highly recommended-a classic local spot. The food was good-restaurant atmosphere is vintage -change of pace. The service was dreadful. Our waiter was either in the twilight zone or just plain unfriendly. It took 30 minutes to get sparkling water-I asked 3 different times. FORGOT my sons soup-but did charge us for it-we had to review the bill. We were put in the Antler Dining room-not by our choosing and the waiter was clear-he only knew that menu but our menu was different and he 'just was not familiar with it'. Really? Pricey evening for such poor service."

"Pepi's has always been known for its après ski and bar scene, but this was the first chance to have dinner at Pepi's. Everyone really enjoyed there meal we had Boar, Caribou, Pork shoulder and goulash. Everything was well prepared and the night was very enjoyable."

"We used to love this restaurant and have eaten here many many times. Unfortunately it now seems to be going down hill. Our waitress was not very friendly and didn't seem to care about service very much. Our meal was pretty mediocre as well, reminding us of a German version of prefab cafeteria food. So sad we hope they will get their act together."

"The walk through the live and loud band in the adjacent pub was a poor start to an otherwise solid meal. Pepi's is a cliche Bavarian style restaurant with the attendant costumes, decorations, table side preparations, and menu. Food was good all around, not spectacular. Pricey. Service was very very good, if not a bit goofy and overdone."

"Pepi's is an old Vail institution with a definite Austrian ski chalet vibe. The bar is noisy and typical apres ski scene. The dining room is somewhat cramped. The real gem of Pepi's is the Antler's Room.The decor is mounted game and and antlers which makes one feel they are in the Austrian Tyrol. The food selection includes many wild game options which are wonderfully prepared. The sauces are a highlight. it is expensive, but worth it."

"This is a Vail icon. However, it is tired and unfortunately resting on its past and stellar location in Vail village to attract diners. The hostess greeted us at the door with a strict order to "check our coats" delivered in a manner that was akin to the strictest of nuns in a Catholic school. We were then seated and the service was so hurried we felt that we were at a diner in New Jersey. The waitress was joyless and when we asked her opinion on entree selection, she warned us away from many selections telling us we would be "disappointed". The food arrived literally 7 minutes after we ordered and many of our side dishes appeared to be warmed over. To top things off it is extremely expensive for the experience. Never AGAIN!"

"Pepi's is always consistently good in terms of cuisine and service. If you are looking for a traditional Alpine-style meal with Austrian and Bavarian flavors you are in the right place. The bar is a lt of fun and quite loud, but both the dining room and the upscale Antlers Room (has to be reserved by phone) are quiet enough for good conversation. We enjoy it every time we go there. And if you are lucky, you even get to chat with Pepi himself!"
