"We had a 11:00am brunch rez and showed up at 10:55am and was told they were not ready to service us until 11:30, why post on your website you open at 11:00am on Saturday for a brunch seating, so my wife and I went across the street to Morroco which we enjoyed very much."

"We found the Sorrel an excellent choice for Sunday brunch. The staff was excellent and very accommodating. The brunch selection from the menu totalled about 15 items and varied from egg dishes, salads and pasta. Each of us selected a different dish and all of us commented on how good the food was. Excellent coffee. The prices for Yorkville were very moderate. I would recommend this little "gem" to anyone."

"I took my boyfriend to Sorrel for his Birthday. We couldn't get into the restaurant that I had first chosen so Sorrel was a last minute decision but definitely a good one. The tables were candle lit and the room had a warm and romantic feel. The choice of appetizers was impressive and hard to make a decision. He had the Grilled Calamari and I had the Bison Carpaccio which was amazing. For our main course I chose the linguini with clams which was good, not the best I have had but the pasta was very nice. He had the Hanger Steak which was cooked to perfection. The wine was great and after telling our waiter that we were celebrating a Birthday he brought out a delicious Crème Caramel with a candle. Perfect end to a perfect night."

"We visited during their Jazz Night - Errol Fisher is a good crooner. The food was excellent as usual - this is the first time I'd gone for dinner although I had been to lunch many times. We had the calamari, parsnip soup, veal scaloppini and lamb sirloin - all nicely done. We had ordered grilled calamari but it came out fried, which was fine with us, tasted just as good and not very greasy. Lamb sirloin came out medium instead of medium rare but again tasted good and tender so even though the waiter offered to take it back, I didn't send it back. Bread pudding and flourless chocolate cake were both superb. I wrote a blog post on the bread pudding on my food blog: http://www.foodsparks.blogspot.ca. You can check it out for a photol"

"We booked a table for 2 during Winterlicious. My friend was 20 minutes late and I'm hypoglycaemic- the server noticed I was turning pale and offered to serve my soup right away! It is a charming restaurant in Yorkville, great food and exceptional service! I will definitely go back again!"

"noisy with its low ceiling and tiles on walls/floor. We had to strain to hear each other as tables for 2 are wide. Busy corridor beside the bar which didn't help with the noise level - ask to be placed elsewhere in the restaurant and it would be much better.
food was good and interesting for Winterlicious"

"We came at the beginning of Winterlicious for dinner and had an enjoyable experience. Service was friendly and efficient enough, though I asked for a drink menu so I could have an aperitif with dessert. It was brought to me when we were on our last few bites of creme brulee (which was delicious). The lobster Ravioli was lovely (not on winterlicious menu). It had big chunks of lobster in the pasta with a buttery sauce. My friends both had the soup (a bit bland) and the short ribs (tasty but a bit tough). My biggest complaint was the ridiculous up-charge on wine. $12 bottle for $50! I know Yorkville restaurants tend to over charge for wine but this is ridiculous. As a result, I would not return unless they fixed this issue."

"I went with a friend, understandably they were busy, the service was quick and attentive. The food was delicous, like the soup and entree. I did not enjoy the bread pudding. On the menu it said the bread pudding came with caramel sauce, the only reason I ordered it as I love caramel. It came with barely any caramel on top. The caramel was more for decoration. I usally like to finish a meal with a good cup of coffee, the coffee was very bitter, it has being siting and boiling for some time. My friend did make a comment you would think a resturant of this calibre would have better coffee. I agree with her. I don't know if I would go back here, as I meniton I enjoy a good cup of coffee after a good meal."

"The ambiance of the restaurant was quite nice and the service was very good, although I did think that the courses were space a little too much for a lunch service. The meal was very tasty. I had the tilapia and my companion had the chicken. Our only mutual issue with the main was that there was a considerable amount of oil used and leftover. The seating was rather tight, but I think in general the space was used as well as it could be. Overall it was a very enjoyable experience and I would go back."

"Overall quite average, not bad food but nothing to write home about. Somewhat expensive for the quality and much better options in the neighbourhood. Wine list is quite over priced."

"meh. Nice place, pleasant staff but mediocre. $20 prix fixe for lunch was the draw, portions were robust but quality of food was not great. Our mains were brought out before our first course was cleared."

"went during winterlicious. The menu was great and the selections all attractive. The amount of food and the quality was excellent, given the set price for 3 courses. My lunch partner and I enjoyed the meal tremendously. This is the second time I have been here for lunch and the first time was also great. I am coming back next week again with my workmates. I would say that the wine is very expensive, with a glass starting at $12 and going up from there."

"I was there at Sorrel last year summerlicious. Foods were so tasty and I went there twice. This year winterlicious I saw they offered the same menu like summerlicious so I was so excited and looked forward to go back.. This time I tried the soup and it tasted ok. I selected tilapia and it tasted not very good. The vegetables were a bit too bitter for me and the fish tastes was blend. The desert was even more disappointing. I selected tiramisu and it was so soggy and I didn't even finish it... I don't think I will go back again.... My fd went there for new year eve dinner and she was also quite disappointed! Maybe they changed a different chef....."

"We went there for Winterlious because its high rating on yelp, we enjoyed the menu for vegetarian, I ordered a Vine-Ripened Tomatoes, Parmigiano and Tiramisu. While Asparagus in the paste is not so good as I excepted. The servers are friendly, but he forgot to serve us desert untill he reminded us someone is waiting for our table. He apologized for his careless and we don't blame him at all. It is a little bit crowd in the lunch time after 1:00PM and in a word, I recommended Sorrel in Yorkville neighbourhood."
