Valbella Connecticut
Valbella, which since 1992 has been a celebratory place and a regular haunt for the locals who pack it most nights of the week both for its sumptuous food and its astonishing wine cellar, containing 1,450 selections and 16,000 bottles.
Downstairs in the wine cellar is where many people hold private parties of various sizes,and what a splendidly beautiful room it is, done in polished wood, with a lovely fireplace, the tables impeccably set, the stemware thin, the temperature geared to the maintenance of the wine.
Also an outstanding feature of the wine cellar is a heated granite table that can accommodate up to sixteen guests.

"We went there for a special occasion and this restaurant far exceeded our expectations - which is a testament because our expectations were pretty high to begin with! We absolutely loved it! Fantastic food and even better service...they made us feel like we were the only people in the restaurant! Definitely ask to be seated in the wine cellar if you want a unique experience! Would definitely recommend this restaurant!"

"Not worth the price. Food was fair at best and the prices are ridiculous!!! Servers are "stuffy" and the overall restaurant experience is severely overated. Reservation was for 7:30 and the staff was waiting around the doors by 9:45 looking for people to leave. Felt like we awere being rushed. Will not be going back."

"Restaurant is good, but very overpriced for what you get. The place has a "country club" feel which makes everything feel very stuffy. The food was pretty good and service was great, but the overall experience is not worth the premium price.
With several great Italian restaurants in the vicinity, there are much better options for a good Italian meal for any occasion whether it be a date, special occasion, family gathering or after work event."

"We've eaten here before and often their NYC location. But this night was not a good night. Mylar balloons and Top 40 love songs? Waiter rushed and abandoned...one drink check during entire stay? The filet in pastry puff was very bland and chewy and my wife's lobster ravioli was more cheese then lobster. Waited 20 min to get car from valet when leaving. Not what our expectations were for Valentine's Day. Luckily a stop at J House's bar on way home saved the night."

"An outstanding restaurant with phenomenal food. Service was a little slow (a long time to get a menu after being seating, 20 minutes, not 5), but once we ordered things went smoothly. The room was loud, it was very difficult to converse with the person across from you at a 4 person table. Nevertheless, the food made up for everything."

"Valbella has always been a restaurant we look forward to going to. However, this experience was not a good one. I ordered a chicken dish (similar to scarpariello) that was not good at all. The chicken breasts were rubbery and there wasn't much flavor although it had cherry peppers and onions in it. I left most of the chicken but was not asked if there was a problem. My husband ordered a steak and lobster dish that he thought was very good."

"After hearing such great things about this place, we finally found an excuse to go and our experience was not that great. Service was very good, but the food was not amazing. Our three appetizers were really good, but not the entrees. It was a Tuesday night, so I cannot give an objective opinion about ambiance, for there were only other two tables being served."
