The restaurant has been totally transformed, sporting a dramatic two story high central dining area surrounded overhead on two sides buy a dining mezzanine overlooking the main dining area and on a third by a private dining room softened behind shaded glass. A dramatic bar of stainless steel set against a backdrop of exposed stone runs the length of the room and leads the eye to the real focus of the place: the imposing steel surround of the woodburning beehive oven. Rustic wood ceilings and exposed stone walls set against high energy glass and steel combine the old and new at Bar Rosso, setting the tone, reflecting the soul of the restaurant. Featuring glorious Italian cheeses and charcuterie, small plate specialties, mix and match bites off a large antipasto menu, wood oven thin crust pizza, homemade pasta and Italian inspired entrees, Bar Rosso is intended as a tour of the Italian culinary scene complemented by a full Italian wine list and cocktails inspired by the authenticity.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our Mothers Day brunch at Bar Rossa and our party included three generations, (ranging in age from 13 to 90). The food, service and ambience combined to make the experience one we would like to repeat - for lunch or dinner another day or night for certain!"

"Was here for lunch on Saturday. Wasn't busy but waited for food for an absurdly long time. No reason for it. We were a group of 6 and placed right next to two strangers. Could've put us elsewhere the restaurant was empty. Not a great experience."

"Bar Rosso is a hidden Italian restaurant I never knew about in Stamford until someone recommended it to me. They have great pizzas from their wood burning stove and their small plates are a nice option to pair with a pizza. Their veal meatballs are delicious as I am sure many more things on the menu are. I have heard great things about their blood orange margarita as well."

"On a Tuesday night in early March, Bar Rosso was uncharacteristically empty, but the food was first rate, especially the assorted small plates, and the service at the bar was attentive and friendly."

"This is our 2nd time here & wanted to love it but it was just mediocre at best. The service was VERY slow although the waiter was apologetic about it. The food was BLAND & pricey but the place is lovely. I think they do a couple of things very well but not many. We won't go back & don't recommend since there are so many other great places in Stamford."

"Love the small plates and the dishes had delightful flavors. Yellowfin tuna main course came with a sizable portion of pan seared tuna and the fish was cooked just right! Highly recommended."

"Very good meal during Stamford Restaurant Week; Bar Rosso's regular menu was tempting, full of great choices, but we opted for the special week menu, prosciutto and mozzarella and prawn salad for appetizers, tuna and ribeye for mains and chocolate cake and gelato for desserts. Service was friendly and professional, always a fun meal here."

"I've actually been disappointed in Bar Rosso in the past, but this meal was lovely. It was Restaurant Week. They made a simple grilled salmon that was perfect. And I love their tiramisu!"
