"Should have chosen this restaurant first! Great service - exciting food menu with appropriate portion sizes. Some of the best mussels I have ever had."

"We absolutely loved our dining experience there. It was our anniversary and Tara our waitress was excellent. The cheese appetizer was spectacular and our dinner was beyond what we could have expected. An amazing dining evening."

"We had a party of 11 women out of town for one night. The hostesses were less than accommodating. We asked to have one drink in the bar and have a group photo outdoors, one hostess said it was ok to sit down in 20 minutes, another hostess told someone in our party that we needed to sit down because our table was ready and the kitchen had too many tables coming in at 730 for us to wait. The restaurant was not even full, no one in the bar, the table next to us for 12 was never used. Our table was not turned during the night so there really wasn't a good reason to act like they did. Our server Heather was exceptional but next time we will choose a more lively vibrant spot for our one night away from our families."

"I was a bit disappointed perhaps because when I went 8:30 pm it was completely empty in the lounge area. I chose the lounge for the view of the gardens and waterfall. The asparagus appetizer was wonderful however the creme broulee was cold and not too good. The service was excellent but I felt it was certainly not a place I would go back to."

"One of the best restaurants on the island. Unique wine list and servers are a cut-above, really! The desserts are worth a special trip but you may not have room after all the good food."

"We chose PLaE for my husband's birthday dinner because it is convenient to where we live and because we wanted something a little more upscale. We were a little disappointed in the end because as it turned out, the only things that were more upscale were the restaurant itself and possibly the service. The food was okay but not memorable and was most definitely overpriced. We could easily have paid $50 less elsewhere for better food. I can't say we'll be going back any time soon. It's a pity because the restaurant and its surroundings are beautiful."

"What a treat! The food was delicious and the service was top notch. Our server, Courtney, knew her menu ingredients and how everything prepared and made helpful recommendations on menu items and wine. The entire staff put us at ease about having small children and we look forward to a return visit. Love that they are an independently owned restaurant and not part of the resort."

"We annually travel to Amelia Island and had never tried PLaE but absolutely love the Omni Plantation (especially after the extensive 18 month renovation of the hotel). Enjoyed this restaurant and the service was excellent."

"Disappointing food and service. Crab bisque had a flour taste and mouth-feel. Calamari was heavily breaded and served without any dipping sauce although a tiny cup of marinara was brought out a few minutes after the calamari was served. Daily special of fried lobster tail with prawns was piced at $44.00. Both of us ordered it and, for that price, we expected a perfect dish. It wasn't. The lobster tail was small, covered in a very thick batter that made it appear much larger. We had asked to skip the potato and double up on the veggies. The plate did arrive without a potato but no extra veggies. After our meal, the coffee was good, but the water for the tea wasn't hot enough to steep the tea bag. We asked for that to be taken off the bill."

"Overall, the night fell short of expectations. Service was a bit on the slow side. We did not get bread and I noticed tables around us did receive bread. Food was good but not in sync with the prices."

"Food was fantastic! Calamari with fried lemons was a hit with everyone at the table. Grilled fish entrees were awesome. Waitstaff was excellent. Had eaten there before and was anxious to try it again. Only disappointment was that despite having made the reservation weeks in advance, we were seated on what appeared to be a closed in porch rather than in the main restaurant. It was like a completly different place compared to the hip and comfortable restaurant I'd remembered. The only other customers seated in the same area were a large, very loud, party that made it very difficult to enjoy what would have otherwise been a superb dining experience. Would definitely eat there again, but only if seated in the main dining room."

"Enjoyed this restaurant while visiting Amelia Iland Plantation. Food was very good, on the whole. However, we didn't get bread until we were almost finished eating, and it wasn't the best foccacio I have had. Booths were a little snug for four people. We had lunch at Brett's in Fernandina Beach (same ownership) and enjoyed that more."

"We were disappointed in our food, especially for the price. We won't be going back. Our appetizer was just okay (salmon brulee) and my husband's steak medallions weren't anything to get excited about....just okay. Overall disappointed.
The food definitely didn't match up to the price.
The service was fine."

"We had a wonderful time here. Considering this was the busiest weekend in Amelia Island, the restaurant was prepared to handle a completely packed restaurant, and treated each table as if they were the only ones there. Worth a second trip!"

"I highly recommend PLaE to visitors to Amelia Island Plantation and Fernandina Beach. The food preparation, flavors and presentation were excellent and the service was high quality. Our server was very knowledgeable about the wines, entrees and seemed genuinely pleased to be a part of PLaE. That always tells you a lot!"

"Since we went on a Monday night during the slow season, the restaurant was not crowded, so the noise was non-existent. However, because of the size of the restaurant, I imagine that when it is busy, the restaurant could possibly be noisy. There is a nice variety of items on the menu--we selected chicken with prosciutto served with risotto and sauteed vegetables, and a 'burger with fries. Both meals were attractively presented and both exceeded our expectations. The service was efficient, personable, and helpful, but not rushed or overbearing, as can be the case in some restaurants. We had a very nice evening and will certainly visit again."

"We have gone to PLaE for the past eight years. We live in Delaware but when we come to Amelia Island, we always go to PLaE - excellent food, ambiance and music. Gary Ross, the "Billy Joel of Amelia Island" is an excellent asset to PLaE."

"This is a truly outstanding restaurant! I had a specially prepared grouper with red curry and vegetables. My wife had oysters prepared 2 ways. We shared a remarkable beet salad and butternut squash soup with flash fried beets on top. The food was fresh, beautifully presented and prepared as well as innovative. Every bit was a delight. We will definitely return to this new find in our new home town."

"would be great for a summer visit they have an expansive back deck overlooking the marsh of Amelia island. Our server was truly amazing she made some awesome recommendations and everything we chose was excellent including a very delightful moscato. would recommend as a great date night or group dinner. they even have seating for a larger group, but it's not a kid friendly spot, there are definitely no chicken nuggets on this menu."
