"We think that this restaurant is quite good. The ambiance is somewhat rustic with candlelight for dinner hours. Our chilled rhubarb soup was refreshing and interesting. Our lamb and pork were cooked precisely to order with a lovely wine pairing. We ended the meal with delicious ginger cheesecake and pressed coffee. Destiny, our waitress, was attentive with excellent communication skills. Bravo!"

"So wonderful! Great customer service and their food is just exquisite. I had the gnocchi and it was like comfort food to me. My father had the soup of the day and it tasted so fresh, not full of sodium. Their tea selection was impressive as well! Just to top it off Pago is a local business and purchases their food from local farms, etc. So worth the time!!"

"This is my favorite restaurant. The quality is fabulous and while they don't have two dozen entree choices, every one of them we've had was memorable. Wine list is another plus with the 3 and 5 oz pours available for almost everything. Top all this off with excellent service and access to reservations through Open Table. Pago is a great little neighborhood restaurant that can hold it's own against any in the valley."

"We ordered for four. The best parts of the meal were the sauces, fish cakes, truffle frites and the fresh, exquisite vegetables. The worst part of the meal was the very dry and tough pork tenderloin. It should be removed from the menu. The atmospher was pleasant and became more so after our table and another asked for the AC to be turned off. The service was friendly."

"Open Table reservation was honored promptly. Service was slow, leisurely. (I believe the kitchen was slow and do not fault the waiter.) The meal itself was excellent. And the bread pudding with vanilla gelato has to be one of the most decadent desserts in SLC. Outstanding!"

"Having dined here many times, this week's meal was my first disappointment, or maybe its just me. The pork medallions paired with shrimp succotash all laid into a coconut broth just did not make it in my book. A couple of weeks ago I had the pork with baked polenta and sweet potato--ah just right! I'll be back though."

"The kale salad and ravioli appetizers were delicious - I didn't want the starters to end, and will order them again. Loved the pork tenderloin and side of succotash (fava beans and rock shrimp in coconut sauce), less impressed with the lamb ... though the side (artichoke heart and vegetables) was flavorful and satisfying. Had the bread pudding dessert - very sweet (ice-cream and caramel), perhaps too sweet for us. Next time we'll try the flour-less chocolate cake. One drawback: a homeless man came in the restaurant and approached us for money. I was a bit shocked that the service staff just watched and did nothing to kindly intervene and escort the man from our table even after making eye contact with them. Knowledgeable server."

"We went based on review in Salt Lake City magazine that said they used local artisans & suppliers, and were not disappointed. It was a great place to catch up with friends in a quiet atmosphere. Food was creative, well-prepared, and carnivore & vegetarian friendly. Waiter was well-versed on the food, & friendly, but not intrusive. Although the meals were priced okay, the wines by the bottle were expensive; we preferred to order by the glass."

"Pago, as usual, was outstanding -- one of our favorite restaurants in Salt Lake. Our server, Jeff, was attentive and friendly, and the sommelier, Evan, was knowledgeable and professional. Both were very fun to talk with, and we thoroughly enjoyed the evening's service and excellent food. If you haven't been to Pago, you're missing out on a great meal and incredible experience!"

"The wine selection and the open discussion about the origin and personal connection the owner has with the grower was quite interesting and the result was an exquisite bottle of red. The sides were wonderful and the use of locally grown products did add a fresh quality to our dinning experience."

"This place is always great! I have been a handful of times and I am yet to have anything less than outstanding. I would eat there all the time if I could. We had the beet salad, bacon wrapped pork tenderloin and duck breast. Delicious! The staff was extremely friendly, not annoying, knowledgeable about all of the menu and wine list as well. They are wonderful at Pago!"

"I like this place. I was with my college age son. We both had burgers. Not your every day burgers. Top sirloin, made to order and really, really good. Things like in house pickled onions and mayonnaise along with great pommes frites accompany this dish. The wine list seems well thought out and surprisingly complete. Remember this is Utah with their hideous liquor laws. The wait staff are well informed and very pleasant. Next visit, the lamb."

"Food as always outstanding.. however sitting at a small by the door definitely was not what we bargained for. We have been celebrating our anniversary for the last three years at Pago, and this year we unfortunately were seated by the door at a 2 person table, on a weekday night. This experience was such a let down from our prior experiences when we were seated in their adjacent dining area. I would encourage you to make sure you have the dining area seating, not the front kitchen area seating, when you make reservations for two, especially if it is special occasion."

"The food at Pago is outstanding but we had such a frustrating experience it will be a long time before I return. We arrived on time for our reservation only to be told our table for 4 was still occupied. After 20 min I pointed out that there were two 2-person tables side by side they could push together but they would not do that, instead seating people who came after us without reservations. After 30 min of standing in the vestibule we were finally seated. Our waiter was apologetic and very personable but remained in no hurry, at one point standing chatting at another table holding our drink orders instead of serving them! Then it took a full hour for our food to arrive, while others who came in after us were served and left. More to say!"

"Reservation was honored without wait, seating was intimate and comfortable, and service staff were very helpful with things like suggesting wine pairings with different dishes. The entrees were wonderful, the wine accented them well, and the ambiance added to the experience. All around, a fantastic dining experience I would highly recommend."

"We didn't expect much from the dining scene in Salt Lake City, but wow - were we wrong! This place was amazing. Friendly staff greeted us at the door. The ample wine list had great variety in style, region, and price (although mostly on the higher end of the price spectrum). Our server, after providing some assistance in this area then proceeded to bring over the sommelier without even being asked to do so - and he, a former assistant wine maker at Quivira, brought over 2 bottles that were similar to our initial choice and allowed us to refine our choice even more. Perfect. The food (Trout and Lamb, and a side of "Squash Hash") was excellent - inventive and perfectly prepared. Nice sized portions, too. We'll be back."

"I love Pago! The food has perfect portion sizes, not too small but not too much food. The flavors are delectable. The servers are very kind, patient, and care about the food they serve. Pago uses local food and products for their dishes. Make sure you have reservations, because this place is very popular (why shouldn't it be?!). Eating at Pago is no rushed event, relax, and let the servers guide you on this food journey. It may seem pricey, but when you eat the food, you won't regret it. Pago is a perfect place for an expert foodie, a wine connoisseur, and even for someone new to great food."

"We have been to Pago for brunch but this was our first (but definitely not our last) dinner. What a wonderful experience at this cozy neighborhood find. The lamb dish was the best I have ever had. Their service staff was top notch and our jovial waiter was very knowledgeable on their extensive wine list. All in all it made for a special night out."

"The food is always outstanding and last Sunday was no different. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Sunday is a great time to dine at Pago because it seems quieter. They were out of one of their mains,as well as a couple of wine selections by the time we got there at 6pm.---but it did not dampen our experience. Great place."

"A very solid addition to the Salt Lake dining scene. It emphasizes local ingredients. The owner is young and hard-working, and he is a wine expert. He encourages his staff to become knowledgeable about wine. Its sommelier Evan is down-to-earth and helpful with suggestions on pairings."

"Lukewarm...at best! The host seemed like he was put out to seat us. Once greated, we ordered and then watched diner's that were seated after us get their food, water glassed were never refilled, food was barely warm and should have been sent back. Ordered one glass of wine that was so bad, I did sent it back. This obviously did not please the waitress and the service went from bad to worse. It became very clear that she was ready to 'turn the table'. I have been in food service before so I did leave a 20% tip (reluctantly).... Dinner for 2 at almost $100.00.. will not return or recommend. A complete disappointment and waste of money!!!!!"

"The food was great, from appetizers, to entrees, to dessert! The 3-course fixed menu was a good value and ordering a la carte excellent, too. Fish was handled perfectly with a light touch but well-crisped skin, flavors bright but not heavy in the mac&cheese, and excellent wine service for a BYO bottle."
