"I've enjoyed dinning at Johannes many times so when my friend Mark wanted to take me to dinner for my birthday, Johannes was my first choice.
I indulged myself with a Coco, one of their signature martinis ... coconut rum, coconut vodka, who know what else. Delicious! I had two.
We shared an amazing Endive salad and a cold avocado/cucumber soup garnished with crab. Yummy!
Since we were both in the mood for "comfort food", we both had Schnitzel. Mine made with veal and my friend's, chicken.
Crispy and very flavorful. The meat was not over cooked and was moist and tender.
For desert, they brought out a large plate with "Happy Birthday" written in Raspberry Coulis. On the plate, chocolate mousse, espresso creme brulee and tiramisu."

"I was visiting Palm Springs from out of town and looking for an excellent restaurant with fabulous cuisine and good service- Johannes more than met my expectations, it set the bar for all my future dining experiences in Palm Springs. Drink menu was interesting and varied, good cocktails, good wine list. The meals were delicious, flavors well balanced. I found this place on Yelp and it definately lives up to the praise. Will definately seek to dine here again when I come back to visit."

"We travel to PS every year and we have never missed going to Johannes. This is our favorite and best restaurant to eat at in PS. The food is absolutely the best and we have tried numerous items on the menu. The service is always great and they are very friendly. The ambience is very relaxing. I would definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone that visits PS. A visit in PS without a stop at Johannes just wouldn't be the same. Johannes deserves 5 stars all across the board. All the food is great but my favorite item is the Escargot. This trip I also had the Wiener Schnitzel and it was delicious. Don't miss this wonderful restaurant!!"

"A very popular venue; so be sure to make a reservation! Great food & drink with a very lively dining room. The dining room can be very loud; so dining early or very late might be a good idea if you want a quiet dinner.
The servers are always courteous and knowledgeable - my only complaint; I've repeatedly experienced inconsistent service due to a lack of adequate coverage for the number of seated tables.
Many plate prices are a bit high; but the quality is excellent and portions are generous."

"Took friends here for dinner while visiting Palm Springs. Had a phenomenal meal. And they had Moscow mules which were served perfectly in a chill copper mug ! Scallops were melt in your mouth and my friends dinners were just as wonderful. I highly recommend this spot for locals and visitors alike!"

"We went as a group of 5 the other night. We started the evening out by running late & asking to sit outside. They were very happy to assist any way that they could. The service was fabulous & the staff is all very friendly. Our meals and martinis were delish too!

"Secial occasion,a cousin's 90th Bday, and he is restricted in the food he eats. We knew the restaurant could omit sauces, but we were impressed that it made up a side,roasted potatoes,and a sauce, lemon butter, that were not on the menu; easy enuf, but they were offered, served, and prepared perfectly. All of our dishes, including kangeroo that could substitute for tenderloin on anyone's menu, thick and crusted scallops, and moist and meaty halibut, were excellent; the corn soup with crab remarkable; the escargot out of shell in a garlic, herb sauce superb; and the least adventurous, cold duck breast as an appetizer, served over an ample helping of delicious lentils. Deserts were fine, esp. with HB in caramel sauce. Can't wait to return"

"We had never been to Johannes restaurant so this was our firt experience. We were celebrating a very special occasion, our 11th annivesary. Because we are both over 65 yrs. and both retired, we don't go to a restaurant of this level only once in awhile for a very special occasion, so when do choose a restaurant like Johannes, we fully expect the experience to be in line with prices. It was quite obvious, from the start or our arrival, that the staff were young and most inexperienced as to how to interact and to properly serve their guests. I would deduct that this is due to little to no training. Anyone who has experienced fine dinning knows that, besides the food, proper table ediquette is a major part of the whole experience."

"Johannes is a GEM we have been in Palm Desert since January and have just towards the end discovered it, and we will definitely be back next winter. Our waiter (a Canadian from Montreal area) was so attentive to our group it was simply amazing. The best food we have had in the valley for a long time... Wiener Schnitzel are to die for. Sure would love to keep this place our little secret, but the word is out...."

"Johannes is among our favorite spots in Palm Springs. The food is always excellent and the service is generally attentive without being over-bearing. We brought friends here and enjoyed an excellent meal. The only issue is that it can get quite loud in the front room when it is packed (as it was on this night). So conversations can get quite difficult when the restaurant is full. The other areas of the restaurant probably aren't affected as much by the noise. Be sure to order a cocktail when you visit - Lorena is one of the best in the city!"

"The food was very delicious. We each had the sweet corn soup with crab. The crab was fresh and delicious. My husband had the curry shrimp. It was loaded with shrimp and he was very satisfied. I had the beef tenderloin. I ordered it medium rare, but it was closer to medium. It had good flavor and was tender. The steak knife provided had trouble cutting the meat becaue the meat was tender and the knife was not sharp. A butter knife would have done a better job. We both had dessert, me the creme brulee and my husband the trio. They were classic desserts; nothing to write home about.
Service was slow. It took about 15 minutes to receive our drinks and a full half hour before we each received 2 slices of bread (only 2, no more)."

"Food was excellent and well prepared. But try seasoning the meat in the schnitzel. Cheerful and helpful waitstaff. We had only one problem: despite booking ahead of time we were seated in the kitchen area which is noisy, hot, and has a smoke smell. Some might like the energy of the space, but for us it was uncomfortable and when we asked the person who seated us if we could move, we were told 'no'. My suggestion is to note on the website that there are two dining areas and make clear the nature of each space, so that customers can make special requests in their reservations."

"Enjoyed the spectacular Lake Superior White Fish on a ragu of shrimp/lobster/crab/corn/peas. It was to just die for. Excellent food. This was my second time here this month and I hope to go again very soon. From previous reviews, it sounds like they have really kicked it up a notch. I love this place and I'm hard to please."

"After passing by this restaurant for over ten years' driving into Palm Springs we finally decided to take up friends' recommendations.
