"From the unassuming storefront in a new building on 10th Avenue, the restaurant opens up afte the long bar to a sunken large dining room with a balcony around it. This is a large place, with a beautiful interior with cieling and walls of bound sticks (I know, sounds strange but works well, with good lighting). A short but good and reasonably priced wine list. The mixed Ceviche was outstanding. Lots of interesting things to try, so we'll be back. Great for pre-dinner at the new Signature Theatre two short blocks away."

"Came with a bunch of girls to celebrate my sisters birthday. Fun place, definitely a place to go to celebrate something fun. A little touristy and the clientele is a little cheesy but its still fun. My only worry is they have a C health grade which is gross. Service a little slow but very friendly. The roast chicken is amazing!"

"I wouldn't have reserved a table at this place if I knew they had a C rating. I wanted to leave as soon as I saw it. I stayed to be polite, but don't eat at restaurants with C's."

"Food very well prepared and fresh, but the ceviche arrives looking unappetizing--presentation needs work. Waitstaff is very attentive, but the ladies at the front desk ooze with an attitude that can only be called alienating. Glad we had an early dinner, because by 8:30 on a Thursday night the place was packed and very loud."

"Although the wait staff was friendly and attentive and the food was incredible, our appetizers were VERY slow to come out from the kitchen. We were STARVING! That was our only complaint. Otherwise, I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, even all my super foodie friends."

"This place was great, a lot of space for groups, and a lot of dishes were meant for sharing (like the Matador chicken combo and the Jalea seafood medley). When we were there, there were several big parties celebrating birthdays so it was quite festive with music and clapping.
I liked this place but would try out some other Peruvian place next time. I think the chicken portion needs to be bigger. The Matador combo is a bit overrated - most of it is the sides, and there definitely needs to be more chicken...you come here for the rotisserie chicken, not the salad or the plantains..."

"We arrived late but were still seated. The Peruvian Combo is excellent - $30 for two with enough chicken left over to feed another person. A gear find."

"Pio Pio has the most consistent and excellent lunch special in the neighborhood. It $10 for 1/4 rotisserie chicken, side, salad and soda. I've taken large groups for a business lunch here, my dad we he visits, coworkers...everyone. The chicken is good, sides are good, salad so fresh and that green sauce--great. Definitely reccomended."

"I expected the food to have more favor, I've been to Peru and the food there was amazing. Will give it a second try, since many of my friends think highly of it."

"Best Chicken on the bone I've ever had. Very consistent. And I'm very picky about sangria, and I love it here. The Peruvian combo (no fries, sweet plantains substituted) is so good, I have to order it every time. It's that good!"

"We do love Peruvian food. We found Pio Pio both excellent in fish and chicken. Desserts were also heavenly. Tres Leche for example. We did not try the ceviche but the cooked fish and chicken was excellent and good value.
Pisco Drinks were very tasty and well made with care and strength. Service was attentive and helpful. A fun dining experience. Its more party atmosphere than intimate but that's what we wanted. Interior design and all around it was a great place to have a wonderful, fun evening."

"I always enjoy the delicious food here. Waitress + other wait staff were super friendly but the girls (hostesses) who greeted us are not. I recall the same attitude last time I was at this Pio Pio location. My friend had called to make changes to our OpenTable reservations and was greeted by the same rudeness."

"Everyone was happy with their food, although my Salmon meal was pretty bland and not great with the sauce they provided. Pretty loud in here but great atmosphere for dining with friends."

"The food and drinks were really great!!! The place is really cool too. The only BUT... is that it doesn't have good ventilation so, you and your clothes... end up very smelly (like fried food)."

"I really enjoyed this restaurant!! The food was really tasty, the plantains were a little too hard but everything else was on point. We had a group of 6 and we enjoyed the following dishes that we shared: - Empanadas de Pollo - Causa de Cangrejo - Pollo - Arroz con Mariscos - Matador Combo - Lomo Saltado"
