"Great place if you're shopping in the Newbury Street area, service is fast and gets you out the door quickly. If you're looking for a relaxing dinner, not the place for you. We had 4:30 reservations and showed up 1/2 hour early. After a short wait we were seated and out the door by 5:00. I was very disappionted that they were still offering the lunch menu this late in the day on Sunday."

"The atmosphere is relaxed and comfortable, and we were fortunate enough to be seated outside. When we mentioned we were on the cold side someone from the host stand brought us over Stephanie blankets, which was nice touch. Overall service was a bit slow, luckily we weren't in too much of a rush. The menu is definitely overpriced, you're certainly paying for the location. I think it's worth checking out once, but not sure if I'll bother to go back."

"Have been to Stephanie's on Newbury many times while visiting Boston and food is consistently very good to excellent. Something for all tastes and interesting, upscale comfort food offerings. Particularly like the lobster pot pie and the meatloaf. Scallops were also perfectly cooked and served with a lighter spring pea risotto and carrot puree. The bruschetta appetizer is to die for - tomatoes are always delicious no matter what time of year we've tried it. Great selection of wines, craft beers, and specialty cocktails. We prefer indoor dining and always make a reservation well in advance, but outdoor seating is great for people watching. We have always been seated immediately upon arriving and service is very professional and prompt."

"All the fish we ordered was cooked well, but most dishes had sauces and sides had so many ingredients. Would have preferred at least one simple fish dish with an uncomplicated side dish. Also, the basket of sweet biscuits to begin meal wasn't that thrilling. Could have used some plain, warm rolls. No bread plates were provided and only one small dish of butter for entire table.
The atmosphere was very nice and the servers were very attentive."

"The bread basket has a nice assortment of dinner rolls and liked that there were two of the same scones. We split the warm goat cheese salad and glad we did because the portion was huge. For dinner we both had the scallops with the pea risotto and that was delicious! Somehow we managed to save room for dessert and had the Banana Bread sundae which was also very good. When back in the area, I look forward to revisiting Stephanie's On Newbury."

"Our brunch was just okay. The food itself was decent, with the exception of undressed salad greens and dry brioche buns under our eggs Benedict, but the restaurant was not willing to make easy substitutions to make dishes more veggie-friendly without exorbitant surcharges. $4 for a slice of avocado? EIGHT dollars for a slice of smoked salmon??? Come on, people! This was a real turn-off. The only reason I'd come back here is because of the location."

"I've never been so disappointed by a restaurant before. My chicken was so dry that it was near impossible to eat. My boyfriends meatloaf (supposedly amazing here) had a random chunk of cheese in the middle. It makes you wonder if the chef tries his own food, and if he does then they simply do not know what good food is supposed to taste like. It was not what I expected it to be, the food has gotten worse over time here and will not be back anytime soon."

"When warm weather turned to outside dining. Stephanie's was one of the first places we thought off. Great spot watch Newbury foot traffic. We were seated promptly and noise levels were comfortable for an easy talk with my friend. .
They were either understaffed or poorly trained. We saw our waitress shortly after being seated and got water fairly quickly but after about 15 minutes had to summon her back for cocktails. The bread on other tables never made it to ours. There was a similar summoning for order taking. Food came in a reasonable time but the fries for both of us were cold. We requested replacements and a piping plate was brought back very quickly. What's going on in the kitchen they can't get it right the first time."

"My husband and I have been to Stephanie's many times over the past several years and it used to be a favorite romantic spot when we travel to Boston. The last 2 times were dissappointing to say the least. The food was acceptable but way overpriced but the service was horrid. The staff were rude and our server was terrible. This time there was actually a point when we considered walking out. It took her 10 minutes to greet us and another 20 to even bring us water. That will be our last meal at Stephanie's...Boston has far better places with equal quality, better prices, and friendlier staff."

"Went for brunch and the selection and food were both great. However, it was a bit pricey. Ate across the street at Joe's for dinner the night before with the same group and our dinner, including a few drinks, was almost half the price as our brunch at Stephanie's and we didn't order any alcoholic drinks for brunch. Aside from an entree each, we ordered a couple of fruit cups for the table as well as a few sausage orders was all."

"LOVE Stephi's on Newbury. They have a fantastic brunch and I always end up getting their eggs Benadict. Very tasty. Mimos'as are delicious as is their Red Sangria. BONUS- If you're into Bloody Mary's you can create your own. I also love Stephi's because you can make reserations and they have a nice patio which is perfect for people watching. Highly recommend."

"I went to Stephanies with my 5 girls friends for our birthday. Best meal we treated ourselves to all year! We had the goat cheese appetizer and the onion rings. Three of us got the ahi tuna burger and loved it. The service was outstanding. We had a female waitress who's name I forget but she was great. We sat at the table for hours and did not feel rushed at all! The waitress also surprised us with a birthday cake after seeing us open presents at the table. Very generous and appreciated! Worth every dollar"

"I have heard of Stephi's for years and was excited to finally try. We arrived early when the place was pretty empty because of an evening commitment, and 2 staff members were disagreeing at the hostess desk. Must have been an off night because the service was horrible. After being seated, it took almost 20 minutes for someone to stop by the table. We were told that our waitress left and that someone else would be with us. We put in drinks and food at the same time. We never received bread, although the tables around us did. After about 10 more minutes, I had to ask another waitress if she could find out what happened to my drink. Finally, drink and food arrived. The food was great, but it was a disappointing first experience."

"Too noisy!! I ordered a steak but it was so tough and grisly that I had a hard time eating it. To their credit, they comped it. So, all in all, I would go back there, but probably for lunch and would not order the steak!"

"We had a wonderful Easter brunch, and thoroughly enjoyed all of our selections. Our server was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly, and did not rush us through our meal even though it was a busy Easter morning.
I would highly recommend this restaurant and we look forward to coming back to try Stephanie's for lunch, dinner and outdoor dining!"

"The best thing about this meal was the warm bread the waitress brought when we sat down. It was all downhill from there. An iceburg wedge was drowning in dressing; the mussels were small and overcooked. The fish special, an Atlantic char was a huge chunk of tough, undercooked fish on a cold bed of couscous (not too appealing on a cold spring night. My son's salmon was mushy.
Neither of us made much of a dent in our meal and the waitress simply asked "Are you through?" No curiosity as to why we didn't finish.

"Despite booking, we were kept waiting for 30 mins before being seated. Cocktails then took another 20 mins to arrive. Entrees were brought out before we had finished appetizers. We have been a number of times to this restaurant and this experience is sadly all too common. They seem to be living off their past reputation. Food is good but the service is dreadful."
