"Kitchen was VERY slow! Table next to us that was seated at the same time were served apps at same time, but were served and finished their dinner before ours made it out of the kitchen. We got free dessert in consideration of our wait, but at 10pm were not very interested in more food."

"All the steaks here are made just as you like. Wait staff is meticulous about making sure the whole dining experience is one youll enjoy. Two of our party didn't get the correct steak served to them. We didn't mind waiting a little longer for them to get their food, but management comped those steaks for us any way. We really appreciate it, but it wasn't necessary. Crab in the appetizers and on the steaks was fresh. We were celebrating a special occassion, so they even decorated our table and our dessert plates. Ruth's Chris is a place to go to get a great meal, at a leisurely pace, and feel appreciated while you're there."

"Excellent upscale steakhouse with a number of other options for non-steak lovers. Good for special occasions and can support sizable groups. Extensive wine list with a wide range of domestic and imported selections. I have hosted birthday, anniversary, and holiday dinners there and the food and service have always been excellent. Service is very attentive without appearing to hover. The bar has a very nice selection of scotch and bourbon in addition to offering a wide selection of martini's and other mixed drinks. This Ruth;s Chris is frequently hosting wine tastings and paired dinners. Very good place for upscale family dinners although the length of a leisurely meal may be difficult for small children. A great restaurant."

"Attention to detail is obvious in everything they do. This particular location is by far the most beautiful of all the Ruth's Chris' I've been to over the years. After a long day at work, I treated myself to a nice dinner out... with the stuffed chicken and the chopped salad, my way, leaving out various ingredients. It's nice to know it's not premade and it can be made to your specifications. It was early evening, so it was very quiet and a peaceful ending to my otherwise long day. My server, Aubrey, was most attentive and quite a delight. The staff is very professional. It's always a nice treat for a dinner after work, meeting up with friends or any special occasion. Worth a visit."

"We were there to celebrate our birthdays. We each selected the 3 Course Special and I started with the roasted tomato soup with crab, which was an inedible overly tomato soup with a bit of crab sprinkled on top. It would have been better as a sauce for pasta than mascquerading as a soup. It was like eating heated canned tomatoes. The Stuffed Chicken is alway fabulous and very tasty, one of my favorites and the petite cheesecakes were nice. I wished I had ordered from the regular menu my favorite chopped salad and forgone the "special." We'll be back... and I'll do just that! Service was exquisite and the place has been beautifully remodeled since I was there last. It's always a nice place to entertain or dine out for a special occasion."

"We went for Easter Sunday brunch. Their website showed a special Easter brunch/lunch type menu since they are not normally open that early. When we got there it was the regular menu and that fact was very disappointing because we weren't planning to eat something so heavy in the middle of the day. Other than that, the food and service was good as it usually is."

"staff were warm and inviting, waitress was nice but disappeared after our food was brought out and didn't return until we had sat there for a few minutes after everyone was finished. food was great, you could almost cut the fillet with a fork it was so tender. prices are a little out of whack but for a special occassion i guess you don't mind paying a little extra but i also expect that for those prices the service should be outstanding which it wasn't. overall, not a place i would go to regularly but on a once a blue moon type of occassion."

The very hot plates continued to cook keep the food warm (nice for the potatoes) overcook the broccoli (not as nice but bearable), and cook the steak which was good but much rarer than the medium well I wanted. As it turned out cutting it up and placing the uncooked portions on the plate sufficed. Flavors good all around, thought the bearnaise sauce was more like tarragon mayonnaise than bearnaise. Service at every point was STELLAR!!"

"The server appeared to be a bit bothered that we were there. And perhaps that had to do with me giving her a little advice on how to pour and twist. (One twists after finishing the pour, not all throughout.) It was kind of hard to avoid watching the wine dribble all down the bottle and onto my plate. Normally spot on, we had to exchange steaks with each other. Both ordered medium one was clearly a bit more medium-rare. Tipped the piano player well on entry, he never played the song I asked for... No big deal though, it was a wonderful evening, as always."

"This is considered one of the better restaurants in the Richmond Metro area and I would agree. But for the price ($168 with tip for steaks, 1 side and 2 glasses of wine for 2, shared a desert) it is Good in my mind, not Excellent. The steak was very good, but there are better steaks in the area (Hondo's, Morton's, Buckheads in my opinion). The service was Good but we didn't receive any special attention, just what was necessary. The wine I chose was good but the waiter made no recommendations and it was served poorly (just poured into the glass).
If loud talking and music bother you, this is not the place to go. Frankly I was expecting more but it turned out to be like one of the upscale restaurants in the Mall, just more exp"

"Virginia Beach location is 50% better than the Midlothean location. Although my food was ok, it is and always has been exceptional in Virginia Beach. And the German Chocolate Martini was a real let down. It was nothing like the one in Va. Beach. In fact the one in Va. Beach I believe is made with ice cream and the one in Richmond had no cocoanut involved. IN fact the one at Midlothiean tasted like it was a plain chocolate martini instead of a german chocolate martin. For the price that is charged, I don't paying if I get what I order. But in this instance I was looking forward to it all day, and when I finally received it I was let down. Overall I was disappointed. I didn't expect to be such a great deifference between the two"

"Nice evening, although not really worth the cost. It's a lovely place, but overall comes across as if they are doing the diner a favor by allowing us to eat there. The wine list is excellent, if a bit inflated."
