"My husband and I celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary. We've been to the Stanford Grill on many occasions since it opened. Although the noise level is high, we still enjoyed the food. The wait staff is always courteous and friendly. Only had a problem with my dessert, but they didn't charge me for it. Looking forward to out next visit."

"If you've ever wondered where you could go and wear a nice dress, Stanford Grill is the place. With the jazz band playing on certain nights and the fireplace going, you are sure to love your experience. In addition to that, there's the food..which is cooked to perfection, especially the crab cakes. The desserts are absolutely divine. We shared one dessert among 3 people! The waiters are generally very professional, although we went on Valentine's weekend the first time and had a long wait but other than that, they've been pretty good on time management. Oh yes, and the rotisserie chicken was seasoned like I had never tasted before..I mean eyes roll in your head seasoned. But I wouldn't recommend for those that have hypertension."

"Our server was a young lady named Trah and she was exceptional. She knew all the intimate details of the menu items and went out of her way to serve our group. We had two special dining requests due to food allergies. She gave us service with a smile. The manager -- Phillip served our table twice due to special orders. He, too was excellent.

We will be back!"

"This is a great find in Columbia! The food is amazing! Everything that I've ever had here is cooked to perfection and seasoned perfectly! The low light and nightly jazz always adds another element to the restaurant. It makes it great to bring friends or a date. The atmosphere is a little loud but well worth it when you can enjoy this great food with the people you care about!"

"The customer service is outstanding. The hostess was immediately attentive and friendly. Our waiter, Mark, was awesome! We told him we were not in a hurry and wanted to enjoy the evening. He allowed us to enjoy our wine and appetizer before sending our dinner order to the kitchen. We lingered through dinner, and another bottle of wine, and he checked on us without being intrusive. The food was fresh, the service impeccable and the atmosphere energetic! I was a repeat customer to the restaurant and will continue to be so! I highly recommend Stanford Grill for a romantic dinner as well as a girl's night out. I cannot wait to get back there! Thank you, Thank you!"

"It's in an out of the way location, great for date nights. Food is terrific! I have done date night here and family dinners, and everyone enjoyed themselves. My teen son even ranks this as his favorite place, which says a lot.
The cheesecake is the best I have ever had."

"Celebrated 5 year Anniversary at The Stanford Grill and as usaual it never disappoints. I was greeted with warm and welcoming smiles from the hostesses and was promptly seated well before my actual dinning seating (8PM). My waiter Mark was excellent! He was well versed and knowledgeable, siting the nightly specials from the menu, and making food and drink recommendations to help me decide the night's meal. My entree' selection was well presented and generous in portions! The night was capped off with the sounds of the jazz trio playing in the distance, accompanied with a very healthy portion of bread pudding which Mark comped from my bill as an annisersary gift. A touch of class!"

"This was our second visit and will be back. The ambiance lets you know you're in for a quality evening. There's a two-man jazz group performing to add an undercurrent of class to the meal. The menu is not overly extensive but coupled with the nightly specials there's plenty to pick from. The portions are exceedingly generous, helping justify the pricing, and there's no embarrassment in needing plastic packaging for the leftovers. A good, solid wine list complements the well-prepared food. The service staff prides itself on a team approach but as the night wore on, visits to our table dwindled so settling the check took longer than necessary."

"Very awesome. The service was great. Our waitress Stephenie gave my husband an awesome wine pairing for his steak. I usually hate wine, but the wine and steak were really good together. Steaks and prime rib absolutely to die for.

Only negatives were the slim craft beer selection; however, the wine selection seemed very extensive. The spinach came out too salty, but the staff had no problem replacing it."

"We happened upon this gem by accident while staying in the hotel next door. I made a reservation for 8:45 but we were starving. Our waiter, Jeff, provided exceptional service exceeding our expectations. What I liked about the menu was the size; small enough to allow them to prepare food well but not too small to allow a good selection. My wife had crab cakes which she said were very good and I had their signature rotisserie chicken which I enjoyed. Sides included mashed potatoes and green beans that were well done. Portions are huge.

Dessert was free as guests of the neighboring hotel. The bread pudding that was so good that it brought tears to my eyes. I will certainly return if I am ever in the area."

"We've dined at Stanford Grill many times and although it's always been very crowded, we've never had to wait for our reserved table. Service was impeccable without being intrusive and the team concept insures that our needs were always met in a timely manner. The only thing I would comment about is that they've changed their Caesar salad over the years and not for the better; the current one contains unusual ingredients along with a peppery dressing unlike any I've ever had on this type of salad. I prefer the original. Also be aware that soup is a bowl and not a cup and is rather filling. The prime rib melted in my mouth and I was glad I requested that it be finished on the grill which gave it an extra special flavor. We will return."

"Their chef has a very heavy hand with the condiments - our mouths were burning way after the meal and loads of water. Pricey specials, gooey cous-cous, tasty mashed potatoes but way too much pepper! Sauce on the soft shell crab special was so pungent and salty it ruined the crab."

"Underappreciated gem hidden in an office park. That said, this place is a little too full of itself. Server acted like she was doing is a favor by letting us eat there. They prepare for our five daily specials, each of which takes over a minute to describe - - every detail and ingredient memorized (see how cool we are) but presented in an agonizingly slow monotone.
Food is interestingly presented and is ample in quantity. My steak was overcooked and dry, but no one came by to check on us for some time. That would indicate they are open to the possibility that the customer might need something more than what their own wisdom and oh-so-perfectness has already decided should be."

"This was my wife and my first time visiting Stanford Grill, the atomsphere was great, service was very good, the food was great, My wife had the ribs the order was a little well done for her taste, the manager came over and did not charge us for her meal and also accommodated us with an free entree on our future visit. I would recommend Stanford Grill to anyone looking for a GREAT Evening out!!!!!"

"The Stanford Grill is part of the Blue Ridge Restaurant Group that includes Copper Canyon Grill. It is quite apparent they focus on the Customer Service Experience as the staff is attentive, friendly, and energetic. The Stanford Grill and Copper Canyon work within a team environment so that someone is always at hand to help. The kitchen is accommodating and the food is always great. They have a great brunch menu on Sunday as well although you should note it is limited selections, with one complimentary beverage. (Nice!) At brunch and dinner, they have live music which creates a very nice ambiance. For me, the portions are large and if they could make them a bit smaller, I'd be able to comment on their desserts. So go hungry!"

"This place is very nice; live jazz sets a very relaxed scene for an older sophisticated crowd. I took my wife and three daughters and had a pretty good time. The menu is small so we had a good sample what Stanford had to offer. I do not recommend the steak or fish dishes, the New York strip and Red Snapper were very dry or over cooked perhaps because it was busy(I orderd my steak medium). Other than that appetizers, dessert the chicken, ribs and crab cake dishes were excellent!"

"Stanford Grill was excellent!! It was our first time dining there and it was our 7 year wedding anniversary. Our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu! Everything was in his head. He was extremely friendly. The food was great. The ambiance was perfect. The food portions were plentiful and my husband and I could have shared. We really enjoyed our anniversary and will definitely be back!"

"In my experience the team at Stanford Grille in Columbia get it right every time. On my recent visit, I was seated promptly, offered a beverage and made welcome while I awaited my lunch guests. While there were abundant lunch specials, I went for a menu item -- Fish Taco's and could not have been happier. Simple presentation, fish perfectly cooked, spicy and flavorful with great sides. The dish was filling, although not overwhelming. If you love coffee with your lunch order it here. French Press style with table-side service and desserts that truly overwhelm both in flavor and proportion."
