"Lovely, quiet restaurant with soft live piano music at the bar. Service was good and we found a new wine on the wine list we will try to find again. My husband had a terrific shrimp cocktail. He wanted to lap up the sauce it was so good. My filet was perfect, but my husband's dry aged New York unfortunately was tough. It was replaced, no problem, with a filet and the manager did apologize. Good creme brulee for dessert a little softer than normal but very tasty."

"Our waitress is one of the best servers. Ask for Kristi. The food is always good. There is never a rush. They have a pianist that plays throughout the afternoon and a three piece jazz band that plays Friday and Saturday nights."

"The prime rib was amazing! Ask for it cut right off the roast and not "flashed", so tender and flavorful. The 12 oz gives a great portion. The filet was also spectacular, best served rare. The wedge is so good, bacon, hard boiled egg, cucumbers and tomatoes with house made blue cheese dressing, thick with chunks of blue cheese. Whipped potatoes and au gratin are both excellent. Great wine list excellent, nicely paced, unhurried service from Eric and Sasha. We'll be back!"

"The four of us selected this restaurant because we wanted a good steak. Can't say we were glad we did. It wasn't that it was bad, it was just " O.K." The filet was aged so a bit strong and needed a topping. The one on the side was so garlicy none of us could eat it. One had prime rib which was pretty bland- We all used his horseraddish on our filets. Au Gratins were so so. Asparagas was good. Rolls came immediately, good, but no seconds offered. The service efficient but bland. A man we assume was the manager stopped & asked if all was o.k. but did not give the impression he really cared- just performing a function. No real friendliness or greeting at all. The best part was the live piano music but not a reason to go back."

"We have been visiting this resturant since it was hungry hunter. My husband and I choose to dine here for the outstanding Chef and mouth watering Beef. We always order the Crab cakes as well. We also enjoy the ambiance of Vail and the devine piano player is a treat. I definatly love what the owner has done with the resturant, it is now our favorite fine dining spot. We Love Vail Ranch!"

"Never had dry-aged beef before. Tender and tasty. Nice menu choices. Friendly, helpful service. It was our anniversary and we enjoyed the quiet table section. Overall, a lovely restaurant. We are from outside this area. I was glad to find your attractive website and menu choices online. ."

"Always a phenomenal experience! We started with Belvedere martinis and the wedge salad which we're crisp and refreshing! The filet and baked potato for hubby and the prime rib with whipped potatoes for me were superb! Prime rib is only served on the weekend, but it's worth the wait. If you like your prime rib rare or medium rare, make sure to ask for a slice from a fresh roast, otherwise it will be closer to medium, although the quality of the meat is very good. Steaks are aged and always properly charred. Sides are all excellent, especially the creamed spinach. Desserts are great, we love the chocolate cake, creme brulee' and tira misu."

"Great birthday celebration dinner! The free appetizer we selected, the crab-stuffed mushrooms were to die for! The rack of lamb and prime rib are amazing (so are the sides)! The chocolate molten lava cake was soooo good! We love this restaurant, they make you feel at home and like family!"

"Not a bad place, but not "great". See here in the land of OK..Seemed like it was super overpriced for a quality of meat on par with Black Angus. The meat and potato for $43 without the sald is a concept that is even barely acceptable to me at a 5 star steakhouse, when it's at a middle of the road steakhouse, it sure seems to amplify their steaks weakness. I had a rib eye that was actually cooked perfectly, had awesome marbeling, but also a ton of gristle (which the server should have noticed had he checked on us more than once while we were eating). Bottom line: Dont expect the quality or service of Ruth's Chris, Morton's or Donovan's...but expect to pay almost as much."

"First time here, for a birthday. For the area, this is a pretty high-end steakhouse, but it doesn't quite have that "wow" factor that could justify the prices. The piano was a tad loud, but they lowered it, which we appreciated. The entrees were just good, not great. My filet looked burned on the outside, but the inside was perfect. The asparagus was excellent, as were the salads and desserts, but it was a disappointment that the steaks were the low-light of the meal. Not terrible by any stretch, but a $40 steak should be excellent. Staff was attentive, but again, not "wow". I would go again only if there were a special price/gift card/coupon, in which case I would really enjoy it."

"Third visit and the food was just as good as the first visit. We enjoy the place and visit when we are in the Temecula area which is only about once per year."

"Bottom line: Vail Ranch continues to deliver (for a price).
Vail Ranch Steakhouse has superb cuts of meat that have been dry or wet aged to (almost) perfection. You will pay for the privilege of enjoying this beef, but it's probably worth it - at least once (though I'm a repeat customer). Try your cut 'Black and Bleu' style for a nice treat."

"None of the above apply. We made a reservation and drove approx. 40 miles to go to this restaurant. At about 7:30 on a Sat. night the waitress announced that they were out of Prime Rib. This is a Restaurant that features Prime Rib on their web-site. We ordered ny strip and filet mignon instead and both were ordinary at best. The drinks were skimpy, not much more than an ounce (pour). The web-site advertises Jazz from 7-11 on Fri and Sat. Guess what? No Jazz. Manager did comp. dessert. Most of the desserts were home made ice cream. No pies, cakes etc. The place has gone cheap and skimpy. As we left at about 9:15, the bar area was empty. Would not return or recommend to anyone else."

"Had a wonderful live piano player, but he was flanked on either side by big screen tvs with basketball?!? All the "nice" restaurants in this are seem to suffer from an identity crisis. The food was great, but the tvs were a HUGE turnoff. The food was all very tasty, but my bisque had a film on top like it had been sitting out for a while."

"Aside from top quality food and service the ambiance is special! From the hostess to the new-hire waiter/waitress, the pleasant demeanor, warm welcome and constant timely service is second to none. Knowledge of the menu and wine list by the staff is always a special plus. And, of course, having the manager stop by to chat adds to the pleasantness of the evening. For a special occasion with a friend or friends, this is the place."

"We had a delightful evening. The piano music was enchanting as was the meal. I had the Chilian Sea Bass which was cooked perfectly and my wife had her favorate Ahi to which she was very satisfied. The restaurant was almost empty and our servers were very attentive. We had been traveling all day by auto and the Vail Ranch Steakhouse was an Oasis."
