"Everything about Cleo is noteworthy. Each plate of food demonstrates that the kitchen knows exactly the best way to prepare ingredients to bring out the intention of the meat, fish, or vegetable that is being presented. The atmosphere is conducive to intimate conversation and connection. The wait staff knew when to move in and when to give space. Parking with validation is at the front door. This made for an unforgettable evening that we hope to repeat next time we are down from San Francisco. There is a lot of diversity in the selections, each bursting with flavor. So many items on the menu that are crave-able."

"We went for birthday dinner with 3 friends. Food was great and so was the ambiance.
We requested for regular table and the hostess said there were none available. We had to point out to the hostess all the available ones and even after noticing she not ready to reseat us. Upon insistence we were re-seated.
We ordered chicken tangine, garlic shrimp, lamb kebab, some appetizers amongst other items.
The service was ultra slow and disorganized. One friend’s food was mixed it with another order and placed in front of another guest. It was very difficult to get attention of the waitress. Also our flat bread came almost after dinner was over.

"This was a great restaurant! Service was wonderful our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations! Food was divine!!!!!!! And the concept of the restaurant is wonderful and they re known for their cocktail but we didn't try any that night... Will be back for sure! Only complaint is it was loud even on a Tuesday night!"

"Cleo - Old Hollywood vibe, low lighting, friendly staff, delicious food. We were a party of 6 and we were well accomodated. The food was delicious. Tried and shared several different dishes since it is served tapas style, for mixing and sharing. Keep in mind this means each order, each portion, is quite small! We enjoyed ordering as the night went on, trying different plates. Everything is so flavorful, it keeps your palate totally entertained! I had mentioned in my Open Table reservation that the occasion was a birthday. At the end of our meal, they brought out a little cake topped w/ ice cream and a candle. :) All in all, my family loved it, I loved it, and it made for a fun and delicious birthday dinner celebration!"

"Wow. Great meal, my new favorite restaurant. The setting is great as is the service. Drinks are so good - all made with fresh ingredients. Food is SO good. Brussels sprouts and pumpkin salad stood out. The meat eaters in our group said the lamb was out of control and the moussaka was the best they've ever had.

"This was my second visit and I'm more impressed than I was the first time. That's saying something because I couldn't wait to return. The Brussels sprouts are a must, as is the flatbread with artichoke. The chopped salad, while not remarkable in and of itself, will always be included as it makes the perfect accompaniment to just about anything on the menu. The chicken tangine is Mediterranean comfort food at its best. All in all, an excellent experience."

"Took my parents here for a special night out. Food was fantastic; the mushrooms and the lamb special was our favorite! Also the toffee bread pudding was the best!!! Service was very friendly and knowledgable but was a little seldome seen once the restaurant got busy. Everything is served tapas style to expect to order 2/3 plates a person. The ambiance is very cool and has an old Hollywood vibe. Expect it to get a bit loud after 7. Would definitely come back here again and have been telling friends about it!!!"

"One of my favorite restaurants in Los Angeles - the ambiance and service is great. The restaurant is beautiful, fun, and hip - while also being classy, unique, and appropriate. The food is on another level - I have never had anything bad here!! The lamb shank with lentils falls off the bone and melts in your mouth - it's definitely a must have!! "I think we had a great experience, however, the food was quite greasy for our taste; particularly the Brussels sprouts and the chocken and lamb kabob. The coffee filter it was served in was saturated and it was still greasy when we bit into it. We couldn't finish the three dishes.
The hummus and Greek salad were really good and the waitress was really awesom."

"I went to Cleo for my 21st Birthday. I was impressed with the food and the setting it was lovely. I was a little upset that the waiter knew it was my birthday and didn't bring a treat or something because at the table next to mine a gentleman was celebrating his birthday and received some sort of dessert with a candle. I don't know if the restaurant gave it to him or he had to pay for it but my friends were surprised too that the waiter didn't ask them if we wanted anything. Overall it was great but it spoiled my mood."

"Dimly lit and tables closely placed, but it all added to the cool energy of the place. Our server (I wish I remembered his name!) was fantastic. Really nice without being obtrusive; enthused about the food and had his favorites, which I always consider to be a good sign; and not a bit of pretension which wouldn't have been exactly out of place considering the locale and style of the place. In fact, the hostess and valet guys were all very affable as well, all of which greatly added to my experience.

"I went here on a date with my girlfriend. This was the second time coming here after coming here with a group of my friends. The restaurant's decor is very unique and women seem to always like it, it's like chic hollywood. The food is AMAZING, seriously anything on the menu will blow you away. We had yogurt sauce, brussel sprouts, octupus, and sausage and it was soo good. Your date or your group will thank you profusely for bringing them to this place.

"We regularly have dinner at Cleo either before or after theater at the Pantages. Valet park at the Redbury for $9, and walk one block to the theater. Best of all, the food is imaginative and tasty. Recommend ordering a bunch of smaller (or larger) dishes to share, family-style. The brussel sprouts are simply divine, and I never liked brussels sprouts before. The flatbreads are great, as are the selction of spicy sausages, kabobs, and lamb. Good selection of draft and bottled beers, decent wine list. Service is fast, efficient and friendly. A very cool, trendy bar upstairs at the Redbury."

"Cleo was an excellent meal; every dish was well prepared and inventive. I especially liked the oysters, the brussels sprouts, the lamb schwarma, the octopus, and the grilled doraud. Accidental discovery of the night: the flaky salty brussels sprouts tasted wonderful mixed with the remnants of the pomogranite balsalmic from the beet salad! All our waiter's suggestions were spot on, and the support staff polite and attentive. There were a couple of negatives: I thought the place was too loud for romance, and the food was a little contrived with the basic flavors sometimes muddled by the seasonings. Still, this is the best restaurant near the Pantages we've ever found, and we will be happy to return!"

"Tiny tapas-sized portions; literally two or three bites per serving. They pack tables in so tight, you are merely inches from neighboring tables. Servers and busboys were attentive, but even they kept bumping into our chairs because seating was so cramped. The biggest joke about this pretentious place was the menus. Customers routinely needing to resort to cell phone lamps, lighters and candles to read them. Restaurant lighting was fine....just horrible menu design with no contrast between type and background. It was the the talk of our group. By group I mean the neighboring tables; we could not help but overhear every word they were saying.Honestly the worst dining experience we have ever had in Hollywood."
