"Ordered an app that never came. Somehow they ran out of the Sunday dinner which consists of ziti sausage and meatballs. How an Italian restaurant runs out of those things is beyond me. Figured we would get a dessert or something since they completely forgot the appetizer we ordered...nope. If you you ordering stuff and not getting it and an overall below average dining experience this place is a can't miss."

"The matre d' was not friendly when we arrived, once seated we waited 45min for our entrees, the waitress would disappear for loooooong stretches of time, and then to top it all off the kitchen forgot to bag one of our plates for us when we were ready to leave. Food was fine but was overshadowed by the incredibly poor experience. They dropped the charge from our bill for the plate they forgot to bag, then gave us a full entree on the house to take home so that was nice but it was too little too late at that point."

"I went to the waterfront location with my wife for our anniversary. My wife and I visited this location in the past and we both had a fantastic meal and service was excellent. I had one of the specials of the day, the dish was a seafood medley which consisted of lobster tail and claw, scallops, mussels and clams, shrimp, calamari with spaghetti in a fra diavolo sauce. My dish arrived and was very appealing based on presentation. I started eating my entrée and everything was overcooked; scallops, calamari and even the lobster. The meal was served on a cast iron grill pan and it seemed as though the cook placed all the ingredients in the pan at once and cooked it at the same time causing just about everything to be tough and rubbery."

"Service was awful unless you were a big group. We were a party of 2 and had to ask for bread, anchovies for the salad after we had already ordered them. When the meal came the waiter and bus boy disappeared and we had to wait to ask for cheese and hot peppers. The one thi g thy did fast was get us our bill.
Sorry probably won't go back."

"I've been here several times before but only had some picking food at the bar. This time we had a table by one of the windows but were not looking at the water and right in top of an ordering station, too busy and noisy. My braised beef with parpadelli was awful. Will not go back again."

"The food, especially my pricey entree, was poor. Not even fair, but bad. The appetizers were redeeming...baked portabella was delicious, and the buffalo mozz with prosciutto and tomatoes were delicious. For my entree, I ordered the expensive ($52) seafood cioppino over "risotto"...it may or may not have been arborio rice, it tasted like Uncle Ben's . The risotto had barely any broth (a hallmark of the cippino) and all of the seafood was totally tasteless. The waiter was intent on emptying the wine ASAP, so after giving us an initial pour (too much to let the wine breathe) he refilled us every time we took a sip so our wine glasses were alwaysfull to the brim. We ended up wasting much of it"

"Everything was perfect from the moment we walked in the door. Service was exceptional. We sat in an out of the way alcove so the noise level was actually quiet and we could converse without raising our voices. The food was delicious and expertly prepared. "I have heard fantastic things about Strega Waterfront, and it certainly lived up to my expectations! We selected the La Strega salad to split and it was so delicious. The bread and the olive oil were amazing! We also had the Lobster Fra Diavolo and a Short Rib special that were both amazingly delicious. Only word of caution with the Lobster Fra Diavolo is that it is pretty messy and hard work, but still worth it!"

"Food was overpriced and not very creative. Waiter was polite but we felt rushed. He refilled wine glasses after 2 of us had taken only one sip and one of us hadn't even tasted the wine. We hadn't finished our dessert and he put the bill on the table. Appeared to be a bigger bar scene. Bartender was pleasant. Seemed to have many business people and tourist. As a local, I wouldn't return."

"Impressive for business or pleasure! We headed in to celebrate birthdays and were pampered by the staff from the moment we pulled our car up to the valet. Dan the AGM is amazing. I've never met such a gentleman and someone who is so on top of his game anticipating needs and noticing everything that's going on. A true gem in the restaurant world. From start to finish everything was perfection. The imported Buffalo Mozzarella melts in your mouth, the scallops and shrimp in a Grand Marnier sauce were delicious, and the sea bass was the best I've ever had. Plenty of healthy choices on the menu, but it's worth the cheat for the fresh gnocchi or other homemade pastas, and the desserts are worth the calories as well. Great night!"

"We went to Strega Waterfront to celebrate my birthday on a lovely Saturday night. I had what was described as the "Cowboy" Rib Eye steak. It was a bone-in rib eye that wasn't as thick as I expected it would be, based on having rib eye many times in other restaurants. It was very tasty, however.
My wife had a 'surf and turf;' a stuffed lobster tail and filet mignon, both of which that were very large portions. With a price to match, I should mention!
Our waiter, Vincenzo, was charming and very attentive and helpful!
The owner, Nick Varano, made a point of visiting practically every table in the place during the time we were there. A nice touch.
Definitely a 'special occasion' place to dine."

"This was the best experience dining in Boston I have ever had. Every employee was attentive and treated us like royalty.I will highly recommend this restuarant to everyone I know. The food was outstanding, I ordered the sea bass special. Every manager came by to make sure we had everything we needed along with a special greeting from the owner.
We were celebrating a birthday and definitely made it an amazing experience!"

"My wife and I really enjoyed our whole experience! The food was delicious...short-rib special incredible!!! The atmosphere was right. The service was perfect! Between our server and the bus person, they really helped make our experience a memorable one.
I don't think I have ever shook the hand of my server before, but he was so authentic that he made my wife and I feel as we were leaving that we were saying goodbye to a friend and thanking him for having us.
I look forward to when my wife and I can make it back into the city to go back again."

"Not really a romantic place. Maybe if your table was along the windows and there were no kids around you. Tables for 2 were very close to tables with large groups which made it uncomfortable and part of that group. A lot of kids where there on Saturday night - ages ranging from infants to 12 year olds. Food was outstanding along with the service."

"The food was amazingly fantastic! Their meatball was the best I have ever had. The short rib risotto was so rich and filling and it infused me with warmth. It was the ultimate in comfort food. The shrimp scampi was light and flavorful. I loved it. The service was fabulous. They were able to accomodate someone in our party that has major food allegies and the food they served was just as wonderful as items on the menu. I would highly recommend going to this restaurant. I know I will be going again. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

"I was there on a wednesday night. My sister, mom, and I, all ordered pasta/chicken dishes, and no appetizers. It took one hour for our food to come out. We had two waiters, and NEITHER of them checked on us or updated us on when our food would be out (they didn't even stop at our table for that matter). It was very very frustrating."

"Evening was marked by an extremely rude hostess, which was an embarrassment to me. I'm on a business dinner with a client and we are literally 5 minutes late due to Strega's disinterested valet service. The hostess "chastizes" in front of my client, that we were on the "late" side of 7pm. No lie, 7:05pm. Progresses to tell us, we'd now need to wait at least 35 minutes. I say fine. We order drinks in the bar, and the hostess in on us, that a table opened up. Our drinks have not arrived and they want us to settle up, which we do - and because we did not move fast enough this same waitress is clearly displeased with us. Had I not been with a client, I'd have laughed it off. Considering the pricing, we should all expect better service."

"We went to Strega to celebrate a special occasion but it turned out to be anything but that. The staff was rude and did not accommodate our request to be moved to another table that was empty. We were told that it would be combined with another table for a larger group. Within one minute, another couple was seated there. The manager and hostess didn't care to address this. The food was good but overall the service was hurried and inattentive. This North End restaurant is still in the business of turning tables as quickly as possible. There were also many large groups in there so the noise level was high. The seats are also very close to one another. Clientele is also unrefined so beware."

"While the food was very good, the service was very rushed. We had an appetizer, salad, main course and dessert and we were done in under a hour. My husband also noted that it was my birthday on the reservation and they did not even acknowledge it.
Also while named " On the Waterfront" there is NO water view. Industrial view at most."
