マブロさんの作る料理はハレクラのオーキッズより上のレベルだと思います
ワインの選択も素晴らしく勉強になりますし興奮させられます
一般的にアメリカ圏の料理内容は量が多くて大雑把な味付けが多いのですが
繊細で複雑な味のハーモニーを提供してくれるシェフは少なく思います
出来たら日本の東京か横浜に進出しくれると嬉しいなぁ（＾＾）

"Great experience!!. The hostess knew my name and seated us right away. She even held up the tablecloth for us. The menu is different in that you choose either a 4course or 6course prix fix menu. I had the six course and my lady friend had the four. You can also pair wine with each course, which I did. I won't go into each course but it was fabulous! Megan, served most of our courses and patiently explained each. The wine attendant also explained each wine with the pairing. By far the best meal and service I've ever experienced. A couple cautions-don't go here expecting large portions of food,each course is the right size for the course being served. Don't go if your in a hurry, this is a fine dining experience and will take 1 to 2 hours."

"My family visits Chef Mavro once, maybe twice a year. Writing about what's good would be too tedious for me. I can only think of one small thing that I noticed to the less than good: the sommelier described the wines too fast. That's it. We look forward to our next visit."

"The ambience and service was extraordinary. A quiet corner in a busy city where one could comfortably talk and be heard. Food was artistically prepared and served with an appropriate description. The accompanying wines enhanced the experience. The six course menu was outstanding but there was too great a contrast in quality and taste to the first two offerings of the 4 course menu. We substituted a few items so experienced the difference. An excellent place for a special occasion enhanced by a welcoming and attentive staff."

"It was nice to sit down and relax to such a special meal. The Wagyu beef was meltingly superb with rich flavors--great beef! The entire menu was exceptionally inventive with amazing multi-layered flavors (we loved the Ahi paired with the sparkling saki and torchon with the ling hing peach!!). We had a romantic evening and enjoyed the evening....the service was helpful, but we were able to relax!"

"Exceptional services! As soon as we arrived we were greeted at the parking lot and walked to the restaurant with the host. Servers were courteous and attentive, and every dishes was explained to us clearly.
Creative dishes. Each dish is either made with ingredients that are usually not found in french cuisine or with the usual ingredients that are combined in ways that you would not have dreamt of, making them all pleasantly fun to taste and delicious."

"A disappointmenting birthday dinner that was a mixture of hits & misses. We don't mind the cost of exceptional food and service, however that was missing from our experience. The menu is restricted from much choice and the ability of the kitchen to not have peppers or cilantro in a dish left no choice. The foie gras was delicious & he had lobster substitued ($9 extra) and it was very good. One entree was essentially raw pork, and other was coucous and 7 cherry tomatos. The rest of our 4 course meal had big problems. Wine pairing was delicious. Service seemed good until the end when the server brought a piece of cake & candle to our table, she wished me a happy birthday instead of him & then she blew out the candle. We will never return"

"First the food not worth that money. We have 2 adults and 2 young kids,we order 2x6 course and 1x4 course. The portion is small but every single dish we got left over. So you know how bad the taste it is .My waitress is a trainer,she as a hard time to explain the dish to you."

"A wonderful place for a wine pairing dinner. We went there to enjoy new spring menu. My favorite dish was the onaga with beautiful mosaic ratatouille, which was well complemented by a rose from Casis, France where we visited last year. (We drove by this winery, I think!)
Although we are not wine connoisseur, we enjoy and encounter a lots of new wine to us with reasonable price. I definitely will come back to try all wines they feature for this spring menu."

"A truly wonderful meal with a group of friends and family (both local and from the mainland). Service was impeccable, pacing perfect, each course tastier than the one before! Only problem is that after sampling the "truffles menu" 14 year old has decided he loves fresh truffles, which could be an expensive taste... We had a great time and the food was phenomenal."

"We went to Chef Mavro for Valentine's Day dinner at the beginning of a three week trip to Hawaii, The dinner was a prix fixe of several courses paired with wines. The food was innovative, very well prepared and delicious. The wine choices were excellent and the service was superb. The experience was very expensive, but worth every dollar."

"Fabulous dinner! The abalone was perhaps the favorite dish--fresh flavors, hearts of palm, corn, yuzu, and perfect balance/beautiful presentation. The fresh catch ratatouille with the kanten was beautiful and so delicious...plate was scraped (not really appropriate?) clean to capture every flavor. The lamb was rave-worthy and the chestnut puree and guinea fowl was a delightful savory surprise. Exceeded expectations."

"The atmosphere is the greatest asset for this restaurant with great service from the staff.
The food is still so-so as compared to what it use to be 5+ years ago. We thought of givingthem a try again after laying off last year. But the taste of most of the food lack the finesse it should or used to have. Is the wine or herbs that is missing from the food

"Chef Mavro was a major disappointment. The food was simply not at a level commensurate with the price and attitude. Too many of the courses seemed like the chef was saying "I'm combining these ingredients because I can, not because they go well together" (or, Chopped reference, because they were in my basket). WINE ALERT - there is no wine list. You either take the wine pairings or don't have wine with your meal. If wine is a major part of fine dining for you (as it is for me), avoid Chef Mavro."

If you are in Honolulu and are willing to spend the money, this place is wonderful, get the wine parings with the meal too, it is well worth the dining experience. Although the price of the evening for two was about the same as a car payment and does not warrant a weekly (or even monthly) visit, at least on my budget, I have absolutely no complaints. Superb six-course meal for Valentine's Day with a wine-pairing for each course that just made complete sense. Sometimes you go to a nice restaurant and the wine-pairing just seems like a fancy idea without any real impact to the food. I'm guilty of doing it. But not in this case. Chef Mavro really understands the combination of which wines to pair with which food to really enhance the flavors. This is fine dining, ladies and gentlemen!!"
