It was time for another date night with the husband. We decided to give DFG a shot. For an appetizer we ordered the Chicken Brochettes. It was chicken wrapped in bacon served with chipotle aioli and jacima slaw. It was served without the skewer. Very good, but not too amazing. Next we each had a salad. He had the Fire and Ice, which is a lettuce wedge with fire roasted pepper vinaigrette, bleu cheese, tomato, spiced pecans, and rye croutons. Delicious. "Deep Fork was a great expirence for me and my dinner companions. Great atmosphere and top notch food. A little on the pricey side but worth it. I ordered the duck breast. It arrived perfectly medium rare with a nice crispy skin. The port wine sauce was a phenominal accent. I will go back!"

"The food was great, and service was fantastic as well. A tad on the pricey side, but we knew that ahead of time. The menu selection was above average. Late on a Friday night, the parking lot was full so we had to use valet. Also, be prepared to wait despite making a reservation. We had an 8pm reservation and were not seated until 9pm."

"The food was excellent as always. Service was good, considering how busy it was at the restaurant at that time.

However, where we sat was very awkward. It was a random table in the middle of the floor near the ramp. There was also no light, so I had to lean over the table to get partially under a lamp to read the menu. Where my mother was sitting was completely dark, so I had to read the menu for her.

Complementary dessert was nice."

"The meal was very tasty and the wine list had some great choices. The waitstaff was present but not overbearing. "I expected more. We waited 20 minutes even though we had a reservation. Our table ended up being a 2 seat small table against the wall in between the water pitchers and the silverware area so that I felt a bit in the way. Long story short, the server seemed very nice, the atmosphere is great, but the food was fine, but not amazing. We got two random appetizers, one apparently 'extra' from the kitchen and 'complementary tamales' that were quickly dropped off without explanation as to why we were receiving them (I didn't care for either). The salmon app and the creme brulee were the best parts. We turned our valet ticket into the server and then were asked what type of vehicle anyway because the valet had turned in tickets for the night."

"We had a great experience. The food was great and prepared in such a way that it looked very pleasing to the eye. One of our dishes was not what we were expecting but our waitress took it back and brought out something wonderful whithout hesitation.

"Lovely. The food was exquisite, service impeccable. We were a group of six including a 6 year-old. They got the food out to him right away so he was happily munching on his steak while we waited for our entrees instead of getting ansy and hungry. That was a nice touch most restaurants don't consider. The crab bisque was wonderful, and the chilean sea bass with a light caper lemon sauce over risotto was incredible. The menu offers a nice range of entrees including chicken, steak, seafood & pasta. The pricing is a little high but worth it. The DF is comparable in pricing & service to other local high-end restaurants, but its location away from downtown is appealling & the food consistently better."

"Overall the food was okay. My wife enjoyed the duck. Her tomata crab bisque was not prepared right, had a big clump of rue that had not properely mixed into the bisque.

My ribeye steak was okay. The Augratin pototoes were the worst I have ever been served. They were just pototoe slices with melted cheese on top. No attempt to even cooked the pototoes in a cheese sauce.

The crab cakes were not hot and had to be returned. They appear to just microwave crab cakes.

The service was excellent."

"Food was excellent! Service left a lot to be desired. We had a couple of different waitors and were never really sure who our "real" waitor was. We went on a Saturday night and checked in as soon as we arrived. Had to wait at the bar for 45 minutes in spite of the fact we made reservations."

"Went for business lunch. Received quiet table. Server allowed us time to talk, but was still timely with service. Some might have felt that the service bordered on hovering, but the restaurant was a little slow and business tables are hard to serve (service should be attentive, but unobtrusive). Received two amuse bouches, but that's my kind of mistake! Had the Chili-Shellacked Chicken salad. The shellac was different than times past, but still good. I'll return for lunch."

"The food was terrific and the service was great.

We booked reservations for our 1-year anniversary (first time for both of us to Deep Fork Grill). We were greeted at the door and given a cozy table with a privacy curtain and adjustable lighting! The food was magnificent and neither of us could finish it all. The service was excellent, timely, and very patient as we took our time ordering.

I would recommend Deep Fork Grill to anyone looking for a comfortable and high quality dining experience!"

"I absolutely love Deep Fork's menu and have yet to try any dish that they have not perfected. I have yet to have good service there, however. Our server was very professional and described the dishes as an automaton would but had little interest in keeping our glasses filled, or bringing us menus when we sat down, or checking up on how the food was or if we needed anything. The time before I dined at Deep Fork, our server could not answer any questions about the dishes we asked about, confessing that he had not had them and didn't know the details of the dish, such as what it came with. The food is excellent and I will definitely come back, hopefully to find that the service has improved."

"The food and service were both excellent. Our group was celebrating a birthday, and the waitress was wonderful. Our party had salmon, steak diane, rib eye and halibut, all of which were just perfect. The waitress brought a piece of chocoloate cake for the birthday person, and we all had a bite. Delicious! Will definitely go back, and highly recommend to all my friends. Not cheap, but definitely worth it. I don't mind paying a little more for excellent food and service."

"I went to Deep Fork Grill with 5 others for New Year's Eve. Nothing was open until 10PM, which was fine with us because we wanted to be there for midnight. When we got there it was very busy & very loud, which I think would be expected on New Year's Eve. I was disappointed in one major thing. When I was online trying to decide where to go other restaurants had on their website that they were offering a special menu for that night. Deep Fork did not have that on theirs & that is why I chose them. On Tuesday night I get a call to confirm the reservations & find out then. I just wish they had advertised it. Other than that everything was over all very good. I would recommend Deep Fork to anyone for any occasion!"

"We didn't have a good experience here for several reasons:

1. We weren't notified until our arrival that there was a special menu for New Year's Eve. We were told that we could only order items off that menu but they would charge us the menu price for each entree.

2. We were seated at a "card table" near the front door because our table wasn't ready when we arrived.

3. When our food arrived, it was lukewarm-- not hot.

4. The speaker piping in music was cutting in and out, making the atmosphere uncomfortable. My husband was tempted to rip the speaker out... it was that bad.

When paying an average of $30 per entree, I would expect a much nicer experience."

"Had the NYE/NY pre fix menu. Spinach salad was okay, it was overdressed in the vinaigrette, lobster was the chewiest lobster I have ever had, very rubbery! The chocolate gateau was mediocre and presented UGLY! Sam's Club has better desserts than this place! I don't know.. I guess I'm picky, but there's still no excuse for my entree being major overcooked. My waitress was extremely nice though. Might give this place another try, might not. I understand it was New Years Eve, but still.. the food should have been better. I can get better food at The Cheesecake Factory."

"This was our first visit to Deep Fork Grill. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with a really terrific meal. The food and service were both equally good. From the appetizer to the main course (I just couldn't find room for dessert!), everything was delicious."

"Lovely atmosphere. Here are some things that could be changed. This restaurant does one of my pet peeves. When the server is announcing the specials they do not tell the diner the price. I find that very rude and intimidating. Why not just say, since the prices of all the other items are on the menu. What's the big secret? I ordered the halibut w/risotto, which was a bit over cooked and dry. The risotto was nice. My husband ordered the sea bass w/risotto special which was $40! He liked it very much but said it was not worth $40...should have been priced $30 like the halibut. They need to bake their bread a bit longer, all the little rolls were very pale and anemic. Why can't we earn points at this restaurant. Not an incentive to go"

"Let me just say the atmosphere was great and our waiter was great, very attentive. But for the the food, I was very dissapointed. We ordered the cheese and fruit tray and it was good. I ordered the Prime Rib (medium rare) and it was so tough a knife would not even cut it. The waiter came back and said "oh if we cook it longer it will be more tender" kinda defeats the "medium rare" way that I ordered it. Not sure that I would reccomend this restaraunt or that I will go back. Sorry guys!!"

"The service and food were outstanding. My only complaint is that we were seated 50 minutes late for our reservation with no warning of the delay, not even an offer of a seat while we waited. However, the restaurant manager did personally apologize and offer to make it right, which was very much appreciated. I just hope that if there is ever such a delay in the future they inform us in the beginning."

"This was our first time but it wont be our last. My wife had the pecan smoked prime rib and it tasted excellent. I had the chef's special blackened pork chop and it was also excellent.
Evan our server was also excellent. Did not hover but seemed to know exactly when to be there.
Very nice dining experience."

"The parking was very difficult. I'm not sure why reservations are taken when we still had to wait for our half an hour. The food was presented nicely, and it tasted pretty good, but overall it is way over priced.
Overall the service was ok, but a bit slow and when they came to ask if we cared for desert, they took my wifes plate, which she had only eaten about a half of the meal, but did not ask if she wanted a doggy bag.
I would not be reluctant to recommend this restaurant."

"This was my wife and I's first visit to Deep Fork Grill. We had reservations for 8:00 pm but there was a little wait and we finally got seated at 8:15. The restaurant was very crowded and the noise level was a little elevated. Our waitress was very attentive and helpful. Any question we had was answered quickly. We shared the Ahi tuna which was very good. My wife for her main course had the Angry Peppers with fettuccine and I had the Creekstone Farms Grilled Rib Eye. Both entries were excellent. The restaurant even gave us each a free appetizer the Chicken Brochettes. Not sure if this was done because of the little wait we had, but it was a nice touch. We will definitely go back."

"I have been to Deep Fork a few other times and really enjoyed the food and experience; however, my last visit wasn't quit as stellar. I got the New York Strip special and asked for it medium. It came out almost well done and was dry and flavorless. For the price of their food I was expecting something a little better than Texas Roadhouse. The sides and appetizer (shrimp stuffed potato skins) were very good, but didn't quite make up for the NY Strip."

"We ate out Thanksgiving Day. It was a wonderful experience. We were seated in a quiet alcove away from the rush; the server was especially helpful and personable. The food was really outstanding. We had Butternut squash soup, spinach salad, rib eye steak, pumpkin brulee and pecan pie. Every dish was perfect."
