"We always spend anniversaries and birthdays at The Grape. The food is always top-notch. The seasonal items on the menu are fantastic, but the favorite items that are available all year are hard to beat. The service is very attentive, but not pretentious. "Brought the family here for Mother's Day dinner. As it was Sunday, we all felt obligated to try the famous burger. We weren't disappointed! The wine list was impressive, and the patio dining actually felt like a local north Paris restaurant (but with much more space). Service was excellent. All the way around, The Grape will not let you down."

"Great food, great service. Very cool ambience and a cozy place. I've found it somewhat hard to find a restaurant in the Dallas area that is not a chain or iffy looking since my move from Miami where the cuisine is extravoggant. Highly recommend The Grape!"

"I knew when I walked in and didn't see Courtney that Brian was probably not working also. I had some important customers with me and talked up the Grape as its been a favorite for me. The mushroom soup was stellar as usual, but the entree was awful. In fact there were 6 of us, and everybody was completely disappointed. The pork chop was tough and dry, the red snapper that I am my peer ordered were rock hard and tough. CLEARLY, Brian was not in the kitchen this particular night.
I will make it a point to ensure he is in the kitchen next time we go, as unfortunately, his backup has a long way to go. Bummer for an $800 dinner."

"After 4 years hearing rave reviews I was expecting "the neighborhood gem" to be "great for brunch". The only thing good was the warm welcome, appropriate music level, & charming interior. I'd awaited the "best burger" with too much anticipation. My friend ordered 'well done' and got 'medium rare' (which the hostess exchanged after we could not flag down our waiter. The burgers were sloppy (buns soaked in liquid in the plate) & no dijon mustard brought as requested. (The fresh tomatoes were delicious!) Waiter was totally inattentive, ignored empty water glasses, forgot the tea & brought 1 bill when we had asked for separate checks, (I wish he'd have told us his name so I could write a "private note" in #4.) I shall not return."

"We went for the wine dinner, 3 courses with wine pairings for $55. It was a great deal. The food and wine was very tasty and creative. First we had a home made fettuccini, peas and egg dish with a Sauvignon Blanc, then pork tenderloin with a cherry glaze (not sweet) and roasted potatoes with a merlot blend. Then finally grilled beef with wild rice and lentils and a Cabarnet Sauvignon. The portions of the food was generous and the men in our party received some extra white wine since they had finished their glasses before the appetizer arrived.The wine maker (chateau tessyer) was on hand to give a small presentation about the wines before the dinner. We will definitely go again."

"I went with my boyfriend for my birthday brunch and everything was fantastic. I got the burger and he got the fried chicken sandwich, both were great! Our server was awesome and the overall vibe in the restuarant is very nice and not too loud. They even put a little card on our table that said Happy Birthday!"

"The Grape has been around for 40 years...a little neighborhood bistro set amongst the hip and happening pubs and clubs of lower Greenville Ave. in Dallas. Its great wine list and ever-evolving menu feature an exceptional variety of offerings...nice for happy hour, nice for a romantic dinner. And here's the twist...doesn't seem like the kind of place that would even serve a burger...and they don't everyday...just Sunday brunch, Sunday evening and Mondays. "We have been coming to The Grape for many years and have always enjoyed it very much except for this time. The pork chop was very salty along with the Johnny cakes which were salty and dry. The chicken was soggy and very salty. The server was very frosty. We asked not to be seated outside and we were given a very uncomfortable table inside in a doorway and in front of the wine rack where we frequently reached over. We had a reservation and the restaurant was not very busy when we arrived or when we left. We will probably not go back for awhile. When you ask if we would recommended The Grape I will say yes because of all the years of enjoyable dining experiences, but if it were based on our last visit it would be no."

"I used OpenTable to make a reservation and the restaurant knew exactly who I was when we arrived. I also wrote in my reservation notes about the type of wine I was looking for and the waiter had a bottle ready for my girlfriend and I when we sat down! It was great! I can't say enough about this beautiful, intimate and romantic place! Don't pass it up"

"We were very pleasantly surprised by The Grape. The food was great and was seasoned very well. Our waiter was familiar with all of the dishes and gave us very accurate descriptions and did an overall great job at being there when we needed him, but not too overbearing. "We eat out often and had heard many times about the Grape. Our evening was acceptable but nothing in particular by way of food. The service was well above average and we sat in the wine room which had a very nice atmosphere. I wouldn't drive over from Las Colinas again, but if you're in the area, it's worth a shot."
