"Seated at a table, fondue warmer at the ready, made us a tad bit nervous ("how will we do this?") until our incredible waiter (Tony) made his appearance at our table. He took immediate interest in helping Mom understand the menu, the ingredients used in each of the four courses, recommendations based on her taste preferences, etc. He continually checked in on us, answering questions, varying the temperature of the oils, and making the whole process very enjoyable. It was the personal touch that made us want to return. ASK FOR TONY!
The ingredients were fresh, well-presented, and tasted great ... well, you only have yourself to blame if you under/overcook it. A little trial and error is part of the experience, I think."

"This restaurant is fantastic! It's definitely pricy but it is totally worth it! Great ambiance, excellent service, and delicious food! I was able to book my reservation online so it was super fast and easy. Will be coming back!"

"As this is obviously supposed to be a night to remember, I defiantly do not want to remember this dinner! First off or waitress was extremely rude and awkward!! I was sadly so upset about this dinner! I wish I didn't have to complain about this but it was just so awful.. The waitress walked up and just stared and me and my date instead of being friendly and asking us if we would like something to drink.. after she starred forever I had to start the order myself. Finally after sitting at the table for a good 25 minutes we got two glasses of water (which were not the drinks we ordered) We got the big four coarse meal and we spent most of our time sitting there waiting!!!"

"Overall the food was good. The lady who served us was extremely rude! she gave me the wrong bill and instead of asking for it nicely and appropiately, she snatched it away from me out of my hands and didnt even say sorry or anything. She also had this attitude and this negative vibe. Not very satisfied with her service. If only i could remember her name."

"We made the reservation and 9.30 and got there at 9.40 but the waitress already have our table away so we have to wait half an hour for our seats. The waitress did not know the basic service of giving is our table cloth and only bought one when we ask for it."

"We went for a birthday celebration and had an excellent time. Everyone gets involved by cooking their own dinner. Each person has a different colored skewer to be able to keep track of what belongs to who. We had our phones out on the table acting as timers. It was so much fun as the dinner truly is an entire experience."

"Was not sure what to expect, but wife wanted fondue for mother's day brunch. We're the first persons there and they opened up promptly at 11AM. We were greeted nicely and seated right away. The server was excellent and made the overall experience one to remember. She gave good recommendations on what to try. The food was well presented and was fun to cook in the fondue pot. While this was our first time here, it will not be our last. Good for a special occasion."

"I recently went to the Melting Pot in La Jolla and Downtown San Diego and both places you have to wear a jacket to keep warm. They blast the air conditioning for some reason. The people in the service industry accomodate themselves and not the clients.
On more than one occcasion the burners were falty and to top it off the server forgot to turn the burner on after she served us dessert and we sat there for 10 waiting for someone to fix the burner...."

"Restaurants vibrant scene is perfect for groups. Romantic ambiance for two. This is a restaurant experience so eating will take time. Took us three hours from the time we sat down, ordered dinner then dessert we had spent close to three hours. Entrees are good not great especially since everything is basically boiled not grilled. Overall enjoyed it though if looking for a quite dinner ask the waitress since we sat down next to a birthday group and screaming child."

"I always enjoy myself whenever eating fondue, and this time was no different. It is on the higher price range for eating out, but this is expected at a fondue restaurant. The ambiance was energetic as this is a place people often come to celebrate special occasion. As long as you know that you are going to a place that is not a quiet atmosphere, there will be no surprise. The food is always very good and our server, Tony, made some very good recommendations. I also found out that Thursdays is 3 courses for only $20, plus discounted drinks. I may have to go back sooner than later. Overall it was a good dining experience."

"Staff were helpful, enthusiastic & attentive. They explained each selection carefully, and were extremely accommmodating about dietary constraints.
The fondues were delicious, inventive and fun.
Becasue the meal is designed around the fondue pot, there is a lot of interaction at the table. The meal is a fun activity for friends, and a wonderful activity for people on business who don't know each other well.

"Our evening at The Melting Pot was wonderful in every way and we are looking forward to our next visit. We love the new menu and different ways of ordering. It is perfect for those of us who can't eat huge amounts of food at one meal. It was a special occasion for us that evening and it turned out to be special in every way. "Time and again, I always return to Melting Pot. It's been a favorite of mine for years and I'm always impressed. I frequent 4-7 times a year due to the expense, but for the value, my favorite is the 4 course dinner. I especially love the pick 3 entree on the new menu. I love trying the new specials, like the Bacon and Brie cheese fondue, new Creme Brulee Chocolate, or coming in for special events like Brew and Fondue. Don't forget to sign up for the Fondue Lover's club - you get special offers and emails about events.
My favorite server and bartender has to be Sammi. She's very fun, attentive, talkative, and suggests new things to try (ask her about Curry-aki!). I've had her service twice and I will request her in the future!"

"It was our first experience with fondue. The cheese appetizer fondue was fabulous and the dessert fondue was amazing. All good there. What we found difficult was knowing exactly how long to cook the meats and fish. Even though our waiter gave us tips on how long each should cook, it's hard to know when that time is up unless you are looking at your cell phone or set the timer on your phone. I think they should have indicators on the fondue forks that light up when the food is done. Otherwise, it is too tasking, and if you get lost in conversation, forget it. I really like my lobster, shrimp, filet mignon, salmon.... cooked to perfection. That's what chefs are for."

"Decor was great. Service was ok, we did have a newer server but he was kind enough to mention it at the beginning. We were all celebrating my birthday and they gave us a card! Not always the best for large groups because you only get one burner to share."

"We enjoy coming to the Melting Pot because it is a great time everytime. Fondue is a fun way of enjoying a meal together. It allows you to visit and converse with each other while cooking. We love it. The service was great too. Our waiter John had a great sense of humor and lets not forget our daughters really liked him :-)"

"I am a big fan of food. Period. The simple fact of the matter is this is one of the best meals I have ever had. Our waitress, Frankie (not the owner) was a delight. The restaurant was beautiful. The food was perfect. If you have the occasion to do so, visit The Melting Pot. You will not regret it."

"The entire food experience was amazing! It was fun and delicious, and our server was very informative and friendly.
The only problem we had was waiting 40 minutes for a table, even though we had reservations. Luckily there were seats at the bar for us to hang out at and have a drink before dinner.
We will definitely plan on coming back! Very fun!"

"Unfortunately, not a good experience. I have visited the Melting Pot downtown on 5th Avenue which always have been excellent. Wanted to try the La Jolla location and it was a huge disappointment. Had made a reservation for 7:15 pm for my girlfriends birthday. We came at 7:10, the hostess said they were running a little late, about 15-20 minutes, no big deal, we waited in the bar. After 35 minutes they came to seat us. We then waited and waited, after about 10 minutes without being acknowledge by any server I went to ask for the manager. I informed her about this being my girlfriends birthday, we were starving, noone really paying us any attention and received a well rehearsed apology without any emotion or empathy whatsoever.
