"We were a little apprehensive bringing our little ones for Morher's Day but let me say Blackstone was more than prepared!!!
First let me say everyone from valet to all the servers wished me a happy Mother's Day. And the menu was perfect! Blackstone added some "specials" to the menu which was kid friendly meals ( that was huge!).
The food and service were outstanding. The sushi special was fantastic and my prosciutto wrapped Chilean sea bass was out of this world. We ended a perfect meal with a bananalicious sundae ( my kids were thrilled!) it was a great Mother's Day and Blackstone was more than prepared for the day!"

"This is not the first time that I've dined here and I always have great reviews. Almost everything was great however this visit fell short of the service I normally receive. Everyone did their job and exceeded our expectations except for our waiter. He lacked the ability to make a recommendation or perhaps he wasn't familiar with the wine list or food menu. He seemed like he wasn't in a good mood. He took our appetizers before we were even done with it because he said the food was coming out. Well the food didn't come out for another 10 minutes. Then it was difficult to get our drinks refilled. Another thing we didn't like was that if we were in the middle of conversation he would rudely interupt us to say whatever it was he needed to say."

"The food was outstanding! Most of the party had steak. It was cooked to perfection! The sides were perfect . I had the sushi! The rolls were big and the fish was so fresh! Let me also had that we are all bread eaters. When the first plate of bread was gone, the waiter brought us another plate of bread before we even had a chance to ask for more! that to us was amazing! And the bread was excellent too!

"We went to Blackstone to celebrate my fiance's birthday. We had just moved to the area and were looking to try restaurants nearby. His family loves steak and usually prefers Peter Lugers. After the meal they said that this steak was just as good but we didn't have to travel as far. I am a vegetarian and when I told them this they made me a special dish. They were extremely accommodating and the service was exceptional. I would definitely go back again!"

"I booked a small dinner party to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were seated at the big roundtable in the back corner with an open roof as the sun was setting. The ambience was gorgeous, hip, sophisticated and almost a Los Angeles feel. The service was absolutely excellent. My 8 year old enjoyed her meal. The prices were high but you get what you pay for. Full portions, good quality food. Wine and coffee were superb! Highly recommended."

I took my family to celebrate my Uncles 85th Birthday and Im still receiving calls about the wonderful dining experience. I special ordered a birthday cake and the price was reasonable and the cake was just delicious. I cannot thank Blackstone enough for making this very special occassion one of best dining experiences we have had on Long Island."

"This restaurant has gone down in quality and service from past years. On a recent night, the order for the table took a very long time to arrive and the servers were very inattentive. The steak served to one guest was cold. When taken back, it was returned burned to a crisp. That should have been noticed by the kitchen and server, but was presented anyway. When the "manager" was requested, he did not have the courtesy to apologize, simply offered to bring another meal. The next try was also delayed and ruined the entire meal for everyone at the table. The overall response from the restaurant was dismissive and rude. Based upon the very substantial prices charged, this is not what one expects or should have to endure."

"I was there for an anniversary dinner. Very pricy but that was expected. Appetizers were good. Filet Mignon was med rare as ordered but very dry. Sauce provided was a tomato, basil, horseradish...blah, blah and tasted just like a hienz 47 variety (yes ketchup). We ordered a bottle of wine which was good, but with two servers for the table I did not expect to have to reach accross the table to retrieve the bottle and refill my glass (they should have been on top of that). We shared a berry desert which was good, but had to settle for 30 yr old port after ordereing the 40 yr old as a special toast to my bride. I expected way more for the money."

"Everything was awesome except the steak! While very good, the boneless sirloin, medium rare was somewhat dry and a little chewy. Definitely not worth the $ 47.00. this is my second visit with a disappointing steak. On prior visits one and two years ago, the steak was amazing. On this visit we started with sushi which was simply wonderful. One of the steak side dishes, onion rings were perfect. Broccoli raab is better left to home cooking or local Italian restaurants. The best of all was the donut dessert served warm and sprinkled with white chocolate and raspberry. It was a wonderful close to dinner."

"What a great place for a special birthday dinner! My son was turning 15 and we took him for his first real steakhouse experience. The staff had read that it was his birthday from my OpenTable reservation and started off wishing him a happy birthday at the door. The food was outstanding - few places can do both sushi and steak perfectly. The prices were not for every day, but the portions were large and we took home plenty. We weren't ordering dessert, but they brought something out with candles for my son - without my ever asking - on the house. Definitely we will be back and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a wonderful place to celebrate something special."

"I have dined here on several occasions. Each time everything from the moment we walked through was on point. Our server was both knowledgable and very accommodating . Our party ordered various apps entrees and desserts. Everything was outstanding in taste and presentation. Save room for dessert because they have a new pastry chef and her menu is amazing. "We went there with a total of 6 people and spent close to 1k. Food was ok but the staff was horrible. The waiter spilled half a drink on someone and didn't even get a new drink. Some of our sides didn't come and the waiter said the kitchen was backed up. Lastly my wife checked her coat and scarf and the scarf was gone. I spoke with two separate managers and someone was going to get back to me. One manager was named Izzo that I spoke with a few days later and he said he will check into the problem and get back to me with some sort of answer. it's now a week later and nothing. You expect a little better service and SECURITY from a high end steakhouse like this"

"This restaurant was just ok. When I pay this amount of money, I expect a certain level of everything - food, service, value for money - and I found all to be lacking.
Overpriced steaks - When I pay $47 for a mediocre sirloin, the least you can do is throw in a 50c baked potato, and not charge me an additional $8 for one.
Service - obviously busy and overworked, the wait staff kept us waiting for everything, for a menu, to hear the specials, to order, to get a check - for $160 total, I would rather just go into manhattan, PAY LESS, and receive a much better, foodie oriented dining experience with impeccable service.
I will never return to Blackhouse, nor will I recommend it to others. I'd rather go to an Outback."

"Went for lunch on Good Friday. It was fairly empty. Usually it is noisy but that day it was nice and quiet. Lunch was great! Dover sole prepared at the table was superb. My husband had a wonderful Kansas style steak. He loved it. Overall wonderful lunch."

"Went on a Sunday at 7:30pm. Fairly well crowded. Received a nice circular table for two on opposite side of kitchen which was a nice surprise! Ordered the price fix menu for two, filet mignon and chicken, with choice of appetizers, dessert and coffee/tea. Extensive wine menu, with affordable prices available. Would go again!"
