"Still the best place in town for an excellent steak at a reasonable price. Service was a little slow this time, no doubt due to the Mother's Day weekend. Normally, pacing is very good and I'm sure next time will be back to normal."

"Party of three for dinner on 5/4/13. Requested a booth on open table. We got there 15 min early and staff attempted to sit us in bar. We were accomodated promptly (at our scheduled reservation time) when we requested a booth in dining room. I understand why restaraunts do it but I don't like the sports bar atmosphere every chain restaraunt has in it now. (I miss the old BA bars that used to have dancing on weekends) I also miss the way the food used to taste. Food was ok but basically is no better than Sizzler. My nine year old picked this restaurant and overall our meal was pleasant. Service was decent compared to a similar type restaurants. We were checked on by waitstaff and mgmt. at least twice during our meal."

"Black Angus everywhere is always consistent with good food and good service. While it is rarely suprising, it is consistently a nice meal. My favorite thing about Black Angus is the quiet. Because of the booths, the noise level is always very low, much lower than many much more expensive restaraunts. While the decor is not "romantic", I checked that box, because this is a restaurant where a couple can hear each other speak without raising their voices."

"This was our first time at this restaurant, and we were very pleased. The environment was fun, and the tall booths gave us a real sense of privacy which was great. The food was absolutely delicious -- pleasing the adults as well as the 13-yr-old. The pricing of the dinner special was affordable and very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food received. We're already making plans to return!"

"I frequently dine out and believe I am fairly reasonable on letting minor issues pass, but this was a cluster of issues start to finish, for example:
1. One diner ordered Prime Rib, and requested some fresh ground horseradish, when his meal arrived, he got BBQ Ribs and no horseradish.
2. They fairly quickly corrected the rib mistake, but still didn't bring fresh ground horseradish.
3. We had a to flag down another waiter, despite the fact our server was standing in view and looking right at one of our diners who was waving her over to get the horseradish, ketchup to go with fries, and butter for a baked potato.
4. Tea glasses were refilled with soda.
5. The bill at the end included the ribs, which were not kept and never ordered"

"It was wonderful to beable to make reservations. We were seated right away. Over all it was a good evening. Our waiter seemed too busy. Didn't seem to have the time to clear our table before bringing the next course..We had six at our table so it was very cozy. Didn't get the extra bread and butter when we asked for it. Waiter was very pleasent and seemed to care. He was patient with me and my 93yr. mother-in-law. Love their zuccini. I will definately return... Thanks for the coupons..They bring us in."

"radio special is a good deal - $40 for 1 appetizer, 2 entree, 4 sides and 1 dessert. somehow they do a better job of cooking salmon just slightly rare than even high priced seafood placed I have gone to. the appetizer sampler plate is like Desert Storm to any idea you might have of a diet or restraint"

"All of the Black Angus Restaurants were far from where we live, so it was pretty much a thing of "In which direction do we want to drive out that far?" But I think choosing Black Angus in Monrovia was the best choice we could have made. I took my wife out for a Valentine dinner, and we had such a great time. The service was great, the ambiance was nice, and we shared a lot of good laughs together because of the whole mood of the restaurant. It was just as comfortable as home. Thats the most important aspect of a restaurant. The food is always good here, but what is good food without a perfect setting? We will definitely be coming back here soon."

"I read good reviews for the restaurant. We started with an appetizer, the shrimp cocktail. It was disappointing. It was as though the shrimp had been frozen and re-frozen and just wasn't right. The shrimp should be crisp and firm. This was not. After eating one, I wasn't sure if we should eat the rest. My son got the NY Strip and I the 6 oz. Filet. They were fine. Just not something to write home about. We didn't stay for dessert. The server was outstanding."

"Went for lunch - that's a mistake. Service was outstanding, as always, but the only seating available is in the bar, where the game (whatever the current game is) is always blaring. Hard to not be distracted even while just looking at the menu, let alone trying to have a conversation w person you came to eat with. Chicken sandwich was ample and tasty though somewhat overspiced (and on the pricey side for what you got). Will continue to go for dinners, but this is the last lunch trip for us."
