"Vibrant atmosphere, and creative and delicious menu options. Service was excellent. There was a full crowd on a Sunday night, and noise level was high, but we were still able to enjoy a lively conversation at our table for six."

"Each and every time we visit the meal is better than the previous visit...and the first time was incredible. I have yet to be disappointed in a single bite or sip. The "Devils on Horseback" are to die for, simply the best bite of food I've ever had. The Beef Bourguignon is the best entree I've ever had."

"Found this spot on Open Table for last minute reservation and it was fantastic. Great energy and nice ambiance with open windows to sidewalk and a great bar scene. Mostly young, urban crowd- college students, professionals, pre movie diners and date-nighters. I only saw one young family leaving as we arrived for a 7:30 reservation. Dined with my husband and son on a Saturday night. We were seated promptly and found the menu to have a great variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. An interesting variety of standard fare with unique preparations and unusual dishes but not too fussy. Huge beer list and unusual cocktail menu offerings. The food was outstanding and the service was friendly. I will be back for lunch and brunch."

"Overcooked meats, Items ordered were missing, restaurant out of many items, menu differed from online, Server had to come back 4 times because of lack of menu knowledge, portions were lunch size for dinner prices. Flavor overall was good but we left hungry."

"The service was excellent. We had one person in our party of four who uses a wheelchair. The restaurant is accessible and the staff was extremely flexible in helping us figure out which table would be most comfortable. This person also has severe food allergies and again the waiter was patient and respectful. He discussed with us at length the ingredients in various dishes, inquired in the kitchen when he didn't know the answer, made intelligent suggestions and in the end they created a custom-made serving to accommodate her needs. All of the food was delicious and appealing."

"Fantastic neighborhood restaurant, imaginative menu, great wine list. The space is nicely done, lots of high top seating. Music can be loud for the tastes of aging baby-boomers."

"Went here with friends before a concert and had a great meal. Mussels were delish and all my companions were happy with their meals -- pork chop, gnocchi, salads. Bread is yum too. Our waiter was fantastic. Cheerful, helpful, quick when necessary, and always appeared when we needed something. Will definitely be going back."

"Went with a couple of girlfriends for dinner on a Saturday night. Had a reservation but still waited about 10 minutes to be seated, however considering it was peak busy time, we didn't mind. The food was delicious-- I had the wild mushroom pizza. Friends had the pork belly sandwich and apple/endive salad and they both enjoyed it. Pricing was fair based on quality. Great for a good casual bar atmosphere without the typical gross bar food. Would definitely go back again."

"Excellent spot for a pleasant Easter brunch. French toast was amazing! The only downside is that there was a terrible scraping/squeaking noise coming from the buffet area every few minutes - I think it was one of the lids opening and closing. It made us cringe every time! Otherwise, delightful!!"

"We had a lovely night at Foundry. Our table was ready right on time despite the restaurant being absolutely packed. We had a delightful waiter, just enough attention but no hovering. The rainbow trout was amazing and the calamari app not to be missed. The waiter even had the bartender concoct a special drink for us with our favorite ingredients. Love the cushy deep booths- the front of the restaurant is definitely more lively but might be too noisy for dinner conversation."

"I've been to Foundry on Elm a few times & each time, I have had a quality experience. Professional waitstaff, which in a college town, is a rarity. I had leg of duck, which is easy to overcook, but this was spot on, tender and succulent. Solid wine list (Pauillac for $65!) is great. The manager came over to discuss some of the menu items, and then quietly, after learning that it was our anniversary, sent dessert and a glass of champagne for us. Also: the 'French picnic' appetizer with charcuterie and cheeses was beautifully assembled with choice tasty bits, local cheese, housemade pickles, etc. And this evening happened on a very busy night, when a couple large parties of 12 or more came in at the same time. Go eat there"

"We arrived slightly after our reservation but we were promptly greeted warmly and escorted to our table. A large mirror behind our table allowed me to take in the energetic atmosphere. Our waitress was professional throughout dinner and made sure our food and drinks were delivered correctly and quickly. All of the food, including the appetizer we tried and our entrees were outstanding. We were very happy we tried the bacon gravy fries. The menu also featured a number of beer and wine offerings that were nice accompaniments to our meal. Overall, a very energetic restaurant in the middle of Davis Square that is one of the better offerings in the area, a great place for dinner or a casual drink at the bar. Would love to dine here again!"

"Food was great, best steak I had in a long time. The menu was really good, the fries were hand cut, and crunchy, delicious. Burger was so tasteful. One of the better meals we have had in a while. I would highly recommend it. A bit energetic, so if you're looking for quiet, this is not the place for you. Fun atmosphere and great drinks."

"This is our third time for dinner. And this time we brought the kids. The pizza was better than many pizzerias, and the homemade pasta better than many Italian restaurant's. The burgers were very flavorful, but the temperature was not right. This place has some very versatile cooks in the kit hen who can do a killer steak frites or a perfect dough pizza. Very impressive. The previous two times we ordered the French style dishes, and they were solid examples of their kind. It is also good to know that there is a place like this where you can get foodie food and can bring the kids along."

"Not sure I would go back. We waited forever for our food. That, in and of itself, was not a huge deal, but while we waited, my husband sat with an empty beer and water glass for half an hour. We were there for an early dinner, so the restaurant wasn't crowded yet. She simply didn't check on us. Our food, a burger and pork belly sandwich, were good, not great. Drink list is pretty good. Seems hit or miss."

"Met a group of friends there for dinner before a show at the Davis Square Theatre. We had a table in the interior which was a very comfortable atmosphere for conversation. We could easily carry on a lively conversation, hear one another and not disturb anyone else. The menu offered lots of choices for different appetites. After the squash bisque came to the table we all placed an order. It was delicious. There was a good selection of wines by the glass. Our server was helpful, attentive, but unobtrusive. We had come to talk and enjoy a good meal and that's exactly what we did."

"Enjoyed the food. I had the burger with bacon jam - yum! We really appreciated the complimentary bottles of sparkling water that were brought to the table. Nice atmosphere although I did find the televisions distracting. A necessary evil I suppose. I will definitely return. My husband is planning to make his way through the bourbon menu."

"I booked a reservation at 8:30pm for 6 and was not seated until 9:30pm. The hostess said that if you book on open table when the dinner rush has already happened, it is not a guarantee that the reservation can be honored. I made the reservation at 6pm for a time that was listed as available according to open table. I had never been to the restaurant and did not know when their dinner rush started. I simply booked what was available and was told that open table does not check with the restaurant to see what is actually available. I have used open table before without a problem. I am not sure what the break down is, but an hour wait when I made a reservation 3.5 hours ago is ridiculous."

". There were four of us - we tied a variety of beers and ordered the salmon, a hamburger and 2 pasta dishes for dinner. As usual, the food was very good. My family enjoys the Foundry's beer selection I prefer unfiltered wheat beers and therefore was limited to the alagash white. There are so many more interesting unfiltered wheat beers on the market, its a shame that they don't have a better selection. The service was very good once the waiter came to our table, but there was about a ten minute delay between the time the hostess seated us and the waiter arrived. We actually had to go back to the hostess to ensure that the waitstaff was alerted that our table was now occupied. Once this issue was addressed, we really enjoyed our eve"

"I have been to Foundry several times for drinks but never for dinner. I do love their specialty cocktails and the bartenders can make a great drink, not shy with the alcohol. It is tough to find a place at the bar or a place to hang out if you get there after 8:00 and it is very loud. I have had the poutine and it's amazing! I went to dinner with my fiancée and another couple. I got the beef stew which wasn't great for $23. The beef was way over cooked! My fiancée got the duck and it was cooked well but they drowned it in a sauce that over powered the meat. The couple we went with got the roasted chicken which was great and the pasta with bolognese sauce which was also good. Tables were too close together and service wasn't great."

"Location is great, and the ambiance is classic neighborhood restaurant feel with plenty of booths. The food on Sunday brunch was mediocre at best. Pretty much tasteless. The service was very very slow. We had to remind our waiter 2-3 times that we were still waiting for food that was supposed to come with our meal. I would not go again and would not recommend. Plenty of other options."
