Axia Taverna...for lunch, dinner, cocktails, or private events.
"A hidden "Gem" in the heart of the suburbs . I was pleasantly surprised and so happy I selected this restaurant . This eatery is beautifully decorated , and we enjoyed a quite leisurely dinner one sunday evening upstairs . Our waiter was great , attentive and helpful with helping us decide on menu choices . Will surely dine there again as we our true "Bergen Country Foodies ""

"We truly liked everything we ate. We were a group of seven. The prices are a bit ridiculous, $40 for two small/medium veal chops, but at least the food was truly enjoyable."

"Pleasant for lunch--except the place had very few tables occupied and it took forever to get our food.Don't go,here if you're in a hurry. I had the same experience the last time I was here for dinner."

"This is a great restaurant if you want to try or like Greek food. The décor is very nice and modern and the wine list is very extensive. The service was excellent and the waitress was so friendly, knowledgeable and genuine in her desire for us to have a great experience. I recommend."

"I have been to Axia several times in the past for dinner and was never disappointed. This time was no exception. I went for lunch to celebrate my birthday and had a wonderful time. The food as always was wonderful and the service was efficient and warm. Overall a great experience and I will for sure be back again and again!"

"Axia has excellent food with a very friendly staff. Their Octopus appetizer is extraordinary and their big plate chicken is outstanding. This restaurant also carries a good selection of fish (made to your taste). Sit down stairs for the bar scene, or upstairs for a more subdued atmosphere."

"We have been to this restaurant many times and last time we were here I actually wrote a great review but this time there were so many things wrong I don't know where to begin. It took a long time for us to get our drinks. When we needed something we had to ask at least 3 times. Our waitress was very obviously new and just couldn't get it together. We had to send back an appetizer because we couldn't eat it since we asked for something to go along with it and never got it.They finally had other waiters help us and only then did we begin to enjoy our meal. Also the manager/owner is always yelling at the staff when we go there. And he was yelling at a really good waitress we've had in the past!"

"Terrific evening out. The food was delicious. We were able to sit and not feel rushed. It is noisy but overall great atmosphere. Great night out for two couples."

"With a resevation, we got our table very quickly on a very busy Valentine's Day evening. Service was quick and accomdating. The keftedes (meatballs) were delicious. Salmon entree very good. Too full to try a desert. I am coming back to try the something from the menu of grilled entrees."

"How disappointing - the food does not have amazing flavor, nothing special and it's very expensive - a simple Greek salad with inferior quality tomatoes was $20.00. The scallops were grilled and had no flavor. The shrimp appetizer with feta was the best thing we ate, and it was in a metal pan that gave my friend a 2nd degree burn when she touched it. The apple dessert was flavorless with a pea sized portion of cinnamon ice cream. Maybe other items on the menu are better, since everyone seems to like this restaurant. The servers and restaurant staff were excellent, however, and it made the mediocre food a bit more palatable. Very nice, friendly staff in the restaurant."

"As a Greek-American, I end up at MANY Greek restaurants. Axia was wonderful because the menu had all the expected items, like moussaka, but also some interesting surprises, like duck stifado (stew). The spanakorizo (spinach and rice) was wonderful; it's my favorite comfort food and their version was almost perfect. The restaurant itself is also quite lovely."

"This restaurant has the potential to be great, because the food is very good......however greatness can only happen when SERVICE is commensurate with the food. The wait staff was disinterested, nonchalant 'order takers', not providing any assistance to diners. Worse, the owner/manager stands glumly and unsmiling over the hostess, and is not welcoming at all. Owners take note: work on the ambiance, and you'll have a winner."
