"My wife has Ciliac's disease and cannot tolerate gluten. Black Anges has a good selection of gluten free items including a 3 chocolate tort. Since most restaurents have no deserts. This was a real find and it tasted good as well."

"Let me start out by saying that I love this restaurant and have visited many times and would rate those visits very highly but this time and maybe do to it being Mother's Day and crowded the visit wasn't what I expected. I ordered the dinner for 2 special(54.99) for myself and my husband which is what we always order. Normally the bread, appetizer and salad is served first and we are given approx 15 to 20 minutes to enjoy and conversate before the main course is served and then the dessert to follow not the case that day all of the food pretty much came out together very quickly(even the waiter commented on the time and apoligized) so by the time we sampled the salad and appetizer we were just about full."

"We were fortunate to have a reservation for 10 as we had practically no wait when all of party met at this restaurant. I guess you shouldn't expect speedy service when a restaurant is crowded with Mother's Day celebrants. One thing that was poor was the awful looking square cut of sirloin steak. This restaurant actually cuts sirloins steaks square! One of my adult sons had the rib eye which looked normal. The bill was not unreasonable as some of our party just came from another family Mother's Day lunch and were a "cheap date.""

"On a crowded mother's day, thanks to the reservation system we walked in, checked in and were seated all within 5 minutes! There were a good 25+ people waiting to be seated and thanks to the reservations I had made the day before, were walked in and were seated like VIPs! AWESOME!"

"Had reservations 2 weeks in advance. Had a 10 minute wait. Was seated in very noisy bar area. Was told there would be an extensive wait for another table in a more quiet area. So we were forced to stay. Lot of good reservations did. Seems like walk-ins did better.
Food was iffy. Although others enjoyed the lobster tail, they thought the filet mignon that came with it was a little tough. My stand aloner filet mignon was tender but not up to the standards of other Black Angus restaurants . It just didn't have the usual good flavor. For the first time ever, I had to use a little salt and A-1 sauce ,which I never use, to try and get some flavoring. All in all, I don't think we will be returning to the Black Angus in Lakewood again."

"Black Angus food choices and quality are very good. I prefer it to other nearby steakhouses because the tables and booths are larger and spaced more widely, and it is therefore quieter than other places, which allows pleasant conversation. The 6 ounce filet mignon is always excellent, and a good size for lighter eaters, while there are plenty of larger choices for those with larger appetites. The service was very good; prompt and attentive. Overall a very good experience."

"We always enjoy dining at Black Angus in Lakewood, CA, either as a couple, or a small group of 6 as it was on our latest visit. The prime rib is always good and we like the atmosphere. The booths are "private" enough to feel somewhat secluded, and our group can laugh & have a great time without feeling like we're bothering others (we're not THAT loud)."

"Although it was busy, with the reservations my girlfriend and I made, we were sat down within 10 minutes of arrival. We were seated in one of the bar booths. Although it was the bar, the service would still be the same, or I thought.
We ordered the Campfire feast which includes appetizer, 2 entrees, and dessert. We ordered salad for one of the two sides that came with the entree. The salads came out within 8 minutes, which was great because we were hungry. Then the appetizer came out 15 minutes later, which wasn't that long. After about a 30 minute wait, from the time we got our appetizers, we finally received our entrees. Suffice it to say I was not pleased. I would have spoken to the manager, but our movie was going to start soon."

"The steak for a few of us at our table was tough. Mine was medium rare but don't recall how the others were cooked. I was surprised since this is a steak restaurant. I would avoid Top Sirloin on my next visit."

"Not enough characters to describe the worst Saturday night dining experience ever. The medium-well steaks we ordered were like a roast piece of beef, it took four requests over a ten minute period to get a glass of ice for my wife's wine, the second beer I ordered had ice cubes in it? Took the beer back to the bar & met a bartender with an attitude. While waiting for the replacement steaks the server said to my wife "we have some good nights & some bad nights & this is a bad night"? After 45 minutes we walked out. We now had to find somewhere to eat without waiting in line so we went to Sizzler & got what we ordered, two Medium-well steaks, ice for my wife's wine, a beer with no ice cubes in it & a bartender without an attitude"
