"The view was spectacular. When I booked the reservation I requested a beautiful view. I booked the reservation 2 weeks in advance and they did not let us down. The food however, was okay. I think mashed potatoes and cooked spinach for a side is quite unoriginal and unappealing. Not impressed. Perhaps i would go there for their brunch next time. I hear that is really good."

"The view was very nice. However the service was lacking. When you spend $200 on lunch for 6 you expect to have top notch service, which was not our experience.
The food wasn't bad. My daughter had the salmon and loved it. I had clam chowder and the chopped salad and those were good too. My husband had seafood tacos and said they were fair. He didn't think they had much meat to them and he left feeling hungry. My son had the seafood stew(not sure if the name) and he enjoyed his meal. Again our beef was the service. We sat with empty drinks and uncleared plates. And it didn't seem to be that busy. We will not go back for a meal but would return for happy hour and appetizers because it is a very spectacular view."

"Dined at Harbor House--and nave been there before because my wife and I love fresh oysters, and they always have a great selection. However, we experienced several serious service issues this last time. I wrote to the restaurant through their web site. Sveral weeks have passed without a response, so it's clear to me that the management does not truly value its customers."

"Food and the overall lake front setting were very good but the service was a bit less attentive than I would have liked. The restaurant was busy but certainly not slammed which made the slow service that much more noticeable. Also, it does not help that both bottles of wine we ordered came out with different vintages than what was presented on the wine list -- and it would have been nice for the server to have pointed this out rather than tell me "it does say 'subject to change' on the menu"."

"Great food and wonderful service with the most beautiful view! What more could you ask for? We brought our elderly aunt for the second time----because she loved it the first time. "The Harbor House is one of the premier restaurants in Milwaukee. As part of the Bartolotta family of restaurants it is super. My wife and I love to go there any chance we want seafood and great ambiance. We especially love taking out of town friends there as an example for excellent cuisine in Milwaukee. Food, ambiance, service and view is hard to beat."

"Servcie was surprisingly slow for Harbor House. Very long wait from check in until escorted to table. People in front of us and behind us and the restaurant was very empty. One person seating people and she was certainly taking her time. No apology or explanation.
Service at table was very good but not as prompt as usual. Had to ask for refil of tea, etc.

"Family in town so we acquiesced to their choice; I need never eat here - or any Bartolotta's - again. As usual, food was hit or miss. The crab cake appetizers were tasty but waitress should have suggested a double order; 2 small pieces for 4 adults? We then added fried oysters; tasteless with a blecch texture. The bisque was OK, but there's far better elsewhere downtown. Was the clam chowder Campbell's? The Today's Special soda bread was nearly too dry to swallow. The rest of my group was satisfied with their entrees (tuna sushi, lobster pot pie and a seafood pasta heavy with pearl onions) but nothing to rave about. If my seafood risotto was any moister, it would've been soup. Very, very salty soup. We all passed on dessert."

"We arrived about 30 minutes early and were met by courteous valets. The hostess was able to seat us right away, next to the window overlooking Lake Michigan and the Art Museum's Calatrava. We were greeted by our server and her "partner", as she explained and were taken care of in a timely manner. The food was outstanding, the drinks were great. Why I title this "different" is because the while the service was prompt and efficient, they were unobtrusive. There was no "how is everything?" or "can I get you a dessert?" or any upselling. While it was a great night and good food, it was just a different experience. We did enjoy it and thought it was worth sharing."

"Even though the weather made it too cool & breezy for us to dine on the beautiful patio overlooking Lake Michigan, our lunch in the gorgeous dining room was extremely pleasant. Views are wonderful. The ambiance, the food and beverages, the value, the service--all delightful! I had the lobster roll; my sister had the fish tacos; my husband had the crab cake. All were excellent.
Our server, Sharon, was warm, friendly, efficient, helpful, and cheerfully took our photos inside and, because they weren't too busy at that hour, stepped outside so she could take our photo for us with the spectacular Art Museum in the background.

"Harbor House is a great space with a beautiful view. We enjoyed cocktails outside and were seated on the window side overlooking the lake and Milwaukee skyline. The food was delicious. The oysters we ordered for apps were so good we ordered a couple more to go with our dinner. Although this is primarily a seafood restaurant the landlubber in our party was completely satisfied with the steak. The service was outstanding and friendly. We look forward to our next visit."

"We were celebrating our Chicago guest's 80th birthday and were given a great window table in the corner -- away from most of the hubbub and noise. The server (Lisa?) was extremely personable, professional and attentive and her two assistants took great care of us as well. The food and wine could not have been better and we all enjoyed a wonderful evening. Taking a walk along the lake front after dinner was the "icing on the cake" for our guest who lives in Chicago but said that Chicago had no restaurants with such easy access to their lakefront."

"I was delightfully amazed at the reno of the old Pieces of Eight. Harbor house is a wonderful environment and the service was exceptional. Happy it is so close to my neighborhood in Bay View! I definitely will return...with friends!"

"Came here with my parents for their 40th anniversary and Harbor House made it quite the special occasion. The food was fantastic. Two of us had the lobster pot pie which came with the fluffiest of pastries, large lobster chunks (including the claw meat mmmm), and a bisque-like sauce. My mom had the filet + lobster tail and my wife had a special of soft shell crab. They were very pleased with their dishes as well.
The view is very scenic being right on the water and we could see the lights from the art museum. Overall, very good choice for their 40th celebration."

"An anniversary dinner at Harbor House started with complimentary glasses of champagne. Outstanding, friendly service and creatively prepared, visually plated dishes made our 24th anniversary that much more special. The cap to the evening was the complimentary dessert that was brought to our table. Chocolate schaum torte with chocolate sorbet and a strawberry compote? We eyed it cautiously but after the first bite, we found the WOW factor of the evening. Should go on the regular dessert menu!
If I have any complaint about the experience, it's that the menu descriptions don't do the dishes justice. Pan fried walleye with spaetzle and braised cabbage? I almost passed the offer by - but am glad I didn't!"

"The Harbor House is a beautiful restaurant with an incredible views of the lake, that we really enjoyed. Our reservation for brunch was not in time, there were 4 ladies at the front and they all seem confused, it took some time to get our table. almost all the food was excelent, except for the meat, we tried several times to get it,, but it was always a small piece and with to much fat, so even the server didn´t like the pieces the cook was sending to him."

"Great spot with great food. The valet parking is a real convenience and the bar staff took very good care of us while our table was being prepared. I have a hard time getting used to the tandem servers, two separate individuals that either explain the menu or take orders, then other staff serve. Both were pleasant and very knowledgeable, but you just aren't sure who to look for when it comes to asking for assistance!"
