Two simple wooden doors open up to quite a buzz in an otherwise romantic courtyard, where a colorful crowd hangs at the bar and lingers at coveted patio tables. Inside, seats spread throughout the candlelit house-turned-restaurant with intimate furniture. "The food is great, and the surrounding is very nice. Makes you especially comfortable, and you will enjoy the atmosphere. Soft lighting at night, very romantic. We had chicken breast and Black Cod, which is definitely a plus for the food. Appritizer we had a was a avocado mixed with crab meat, which is also great. Dessert goes well with coffee. I would recommand this place to people :)"

"We had the Filo Wrapped Tenderloin special and the classic Duck Confit Duo. Both were delicious and very well prepared and presented. We also shared a seared scallop appetizer which started us off wonderfully with a decent wine pairing, making the arrival of the enormous entrees a welcome. The only drawback was that we were trying to save room for dessert, but with the more than generous portions of the entrees, there was just no chance. Kudos Little Door, you are helping us grow bigger butts!"

"Since the wife and I had kids, we hadn't been back only once in 6 years. Needless to say, the waitress Zoe said, "I remember you, big hockey fan, right?" HOLY SMOKES! The rest of the evening was simply divine! Go, just go. It's romantic, the food is great, its pricey but so what."

"I would never have known about this place had I not searched for "Best Romantic Restaurants in Los Angeles". I had passed this place dozens of times, both walking and driving, and never knew it was there!
I'm really glad I found it, because it was easily one of the best places to go for a special occasion. I took my girlfriend here for her birthday and she absolutely loved it.
I highly recommend it, with the note that it can be pricey. Check the menu and make sure you have the money to afford it - if you do, go immediately."

"Met great friends for dinner and had one of the best dinners together ever! The atmosphere was fabulous. Olivier, our waiter was attentive and had great suggestions and reommendations. The wines and food preparations were unsurpassed. Everyone ordered different appetizers and entrees and every one of them were perfectly prepared with favors and ingredient combinations that were playful and yet in perfect balance. I'd highly recommend this restaurant and we can't wait to return for our next special occasion."

"Truly one of the best meals I've had in a long time. From the outstanding crab and avocado salad and fish soup to the filet mignon and then the amazing duck egg crème caramel, every bite was magnificent. Even the flavored olive oil to dip the bread was extraordinary. Although it was extremely busy, our corner was fairly quiet and we never felt that we were being rushed. This place is a find!"

should really be marketed as a "moroccan" restaurant less than french food. too expensive for the food."

"I haven't been to The Little Door in several yearss and now wonder why I haven't. It has still got IT--a varied menu and wine list, atmosphere and top notch service. The food was simply outstanding. We had two different fish dishes, a vegetarian entree and an out of this world dessert to share. We woulnd't have finished it except it was SO good. The atmosphere is elegant and romantic for those so inclined. Now that I have "rediscovered" it, I will definitely go back. Not a thing I'd change."

Instead we were seated in the back which a small room that doesn't have the ambiance of the front. I got the impression that the terrace was reserved for later reservations. "I went to the little door for a romantic date with my wife. The food was super delicious and had great presentation. The waiter was nice and attentive. The decor was set up to make you feel like you where in a garden with dim lightning. The restaurants had all the ingredients for a romantic evening but fell short in one aspect. They where trying to accomodate for too many people and cram the tables. As soon as I set down I felt like I was part of each tables conversation next to me. There was literally only enough room for a person to cross sideways between tables. Also the food was pretty pricey even with the whole set up. I just felt we could have had a better experience for half the price in downtown pasadena."

"The food was good, but too salty. The music was very loud and irritating! It ruined the dining experience by being jagged and jumpy and inharmonious, and the volume was so loud that everyone in the restaurant had to shout to be heard, increasing the din. The food server tried very hard to provide a good experience. She was fine. The creme dessert was ordinary and over priced at $12. Generally the prices were high, but the quantities were excellent. The Chicken would have been better with less salt.
The restaurant was billed as romantic. Not! Although the decor was very nice, the noise and tasteless music cancelled it out. This was a pre-valentine date. Yikes!"

"This place was amazing! We will definitely be back. The staff was so accomodating, too. I asked for a different table when we sat down, because I was a little chilly sitting in the open air room, and the manager moved us right away. That was so nice!! The food was delicious, too. Everything from the oil and bread to our meals to our wine was wonderful!"

"Very interesting French flavored restaurant lives up to the reviews that I read. Crab cake and steam mussels were great with unique flavor (not like other places we had). As entries we had the rack of lamb and duo of duck that were perfectly cooked. The portion size is more than enough. For dessert, the coconut cheese cake made the whole dinner perfect for us. We do have to be very very careful walking in and out of the restaurant due to uneven floor surface in side the dinning area (perhaps some lighting arrangement can be helpful)."

"Wonderful experience. Would definitely return! Food was very good and well prepared I think my dish "royal" was a hearthy meal and i didn't particularly like how my lamb was cooked. I tried the "rack of lamb" (friends dish) cooked med - WOW.. much better then my lamb in the Royal (server didn't give me an option on cook temp on this dish). Royal was well flavored (protions are very good) the overall experience left me very satisfied."

"amazing food!!! So delicious! Best food I have had in a while. great setting wih decorations and looks like a secret garden. It does get very busy so there was a wait time despite reservations. must try the Scallops and beet salad appetizers. Seabass entre was delicious With fresh vegetables and so was the rosemary chicken with polenta spears. And the best was the dessert! A must try for anyone in LA.! I can't wait to go back !"

"We went there to celebrate our anniversary and we hadn't realized Dine LA was taking place there. It was crowded. We had to wait almost 30 minutes until we could seat down and it felt like they couldn't cope with it. Before going, I read other reviews where they stated how exceptional the service was but, unfortunately, it wasn't what I experienced."

"This was my 1st time there. I didn't know there were to locations next to eachother. Originally I got the dineLA for $25 but when I checked in for reservations I was seated outside and it was a more fine dining with a different menu. The dineLA for outside was $45 but it was delicious. I would come back and recommend if you have not been here :)"

"The service was great. Our waiter was good and very friendly. I was disappointed with the food however. The first course, scallops, was tasty. But the main dish, sea bass, was very bland and the texture of the fish was a bit mushy. The dessert, coconut cheesecake, tasted more like coconut flavored sugar. Unimpressive to say the least. And for some reason they sat my mother and me in a corner near the back of the restaurant at a table that was only 6 inches away from the occupied table next to us. Yet there were plenty of other empty tables for two in the restaurant that would have been much more confortable. I guess shame on me for not requesting a better table."
