Davanti Enoteca
With rustic exposed brick walls, re-purposed farm wood and communal tables, Davanti Enoteca takes its cues from the small villages of Italy. Diners enjoy authentic Italian dishes they would find in the Italian countryside, but with a contemporary, creative twist.The start diners may choose from the selection of formaggi and salumi which is designed for guests to create their own boards by choosing from unique options. Instant classics include the boards that are presented to the table. The Foccacia de Recco is a flaky Ligurian style foccacia, baked and stuffed with creamy melted crescenza cheese and served with honeycomb to spread on the warm pastry. Buttery marscapone polenta is ladled on a wooden board and served with ragu of the day.

"Consistently great food and service. We have been going for a couple years and have watched it grow from a little brunch place close to maple leaf to n amazing destination. I try a different brunch dish every time I am there and they are all fabulous. I wish they would bring back brunch specials. The Bloody Mary bar or bloody Maria as we order them, is fantastic with homemade veggies and any kind of hot sauce you could imagine."

"We had a great evening. With the small dish concept, you are really able to experience a variety of dishes. Each dish was wonderful. I love the ricotta and honey comb. Simple, but very tasty. We had the pork belly, pizza, pasta (sea urchin & crab), spicy chicken and a bunch of other stuff! The dinner was well paced and relaxing. I would definitely recommend!!"

"Everything we tried at Davanti Enoteca was delicious! We started with the roasted cauliflower steak with olive tapenade & lemon jam, yum. Next we tried the pork belly & spring onion mostada, yum. Also on our plates was the seared octopus & warm fingerling potatoes with horseradish aioli, yum, yum. My husband, never one to miss a pasta course tried the giant rigatoni with house made sausage and oven roasted tomatoes. After he finished, he said: yum. Finally, because we still wanted to try some of the enticing menu options, we had the Wagyu hanger steak & grilled ramps with salsa verde. The verdict? Yum. Can't wait to go back and try other options we missed."

"This is a gem of a restaurant. The food is wonderful. You feel like you are in Italy. This was my second time there. The first was at night and the place was so noisy I couldn't hold a conversation with my friend. So I took 5 friends to lunch there. The noise level was not bad but the music was all the fifties. Come on....this is an Italian Enoteca not Ed Debevics! Your food and decor is authentic. Get the music right. Lots of great Italian music out there. Play some. The service was spotty. The server seemed to have to do his own bar tending which slowed things down. I had better service on my first visit when things were quite busy."

"I could not have had a better experience. Our waiter was fantastic! He made recommendations on food and wine and even brought a little extra of the compote on our cheese and meat table when we raved about it. He was well educated on the food and wine menu and really made us feel welcome. Also, the food was phenomenal. We had a steak dish, octopus, and a pasta. Everything was delicious. The restaurant was romantic, and it was certainly a date night hit! I will rave about Davanti Enoteca to all my friends. Fantastic!"

"I've eaten here several times and although the food today was good, it's been better in the past. Maybe its because it was lunch, not dinner. The beet salad was yummy, but small and the pork cheeks w/ dumplings were just ok. One of my favorite things on the menu previously was the truffle egg toast which today, was my biggest disappointment. The toast was not a good texture (spongy like it was old), there was not enough cheese and I tasted NO truffle. The whole dish fell way short today. However, the mushroom pizza and the burger were good and our server was very nice. He was attentive and not pushy. He made suggestions and although we didn't order them, he was making an effort to guide us. Overall, I still love this place. I'll be back"

"We had lunch here during a weekday. It was not crowded, but I can imagine that in the evening and weekends that the noise level would be considerable. Food was excellent: we had some meat (2) and cheese (1) to start, then the anchovies, truffled egg toast and then a pizza. The amount was good for lunch. We did have a service snafu: the printer for orders was apparently not working so there was a problem with transferring our order to the kitchen with a resulting delay, but our waiter handled it very well and was appropriately apologetic."

The cheese platter had very little serving sizes for the price, so that was the only negative. Oh, and the fact that in our party of 7, the chicken entree for one guest came out 15 minutes after everything else. Poor timing on their part. Overall, great!"

"We were a group of six for brunch including a kid and we all had a great time. We chose from the brunch and lunch menus. The food was excellent and portions were enough to share. The service was attentive and very accommodating. The bloody Mary bar was original. My only comment will be that espresso coffee drinks were overpriced for the quantity that you get. It is an Italian restaurant and coffee should not be more expensive than a Bellini. Overall, it was a great experience and we will be back."

"Not very nice service--we didn't get seated until 9:45 PM for our 9:15 open table reservation, and the waiter wasn't very attentive. Food was great. The place overall was packed. Crowd was all over the place--geeky university students to the left, up-and-coming business consultants awkwardly dining with their young wives to the right."

"My friend and I go to Davanti Enoteca about three times a month, every Sunday. This past Sunday, we went and we were RUSHED so badly. All the food came at one time. There was no room on the table for all the food. We had a party of five, two children and three adults. We sat down at 12:10pm, we were rushed to order by 12:15pm and food was out by 12:30pm. Not like before, when we could sit and relax and enjoy our lunch. I will come back, but with hesitation."

"I have been to Davanti at least 5 times in the past. The food and service have been outstanding each and every time in the past. This time the food was amazing as usual but the service fell flat.
The food is inventive, tasty and always well done. There are both small plates and large plates for sharing. As usual, we had the focaccia de Recco which is an amazing soft pastry/bread baked with a soft cheese in the middle served with honey. It's too much for 2 people but they are happy to box it up for you to take home if there are only 2 of you. Yes, it is just that good. Choose anything, you won't be disappointed.
This visit, our waiter was less than helpful. I won't remove a star because every other time the waitstaff was top notch."

"I feel that when Enoteca first opened it was amazing and now, not sure if it's due to taking reservations or what but the food is just not as good. This was my second visit in the last couple months and I won't be rushing back. I actually needed to request salt for a dish-I never do that."

"I have been to Davanti's a few times now and it never disappoints. We had great service. All the food we tried (Ricotta and Honeycomb, Burrata salad, Pork Cheek & ricotta dumplings, spagetti) were all fantastic. The ambiance there is cozy and romantic, yet there are big tables for groups as well. It's just a great place!"

"This was my first time at Davanti Enoteca and I have to say it was very pleasant experience. From right off the bat, the GM himself ushered us to our table and saw to it that it was a comfortable spot. The food was phenom and their a la carte style kept the dinner interactive. Service was exceptional and I appreciated all of our server's recommendations throughout the meal. I will most certainly make this a staple in my visits to Little Italy."

"Been to Davanti several times and it is consistently delicious. I love that the dishes are meant to be shared because the menu is filled with so many different things to try. It's a restaurant where you can be free to try anything because you know anything you pick is going to be delicious. I especially love the boards and the mason jars...you would think toast is just toast but their tuscan toast is just so good; thick slices of soft, crusty bread toasted with a little bit of olive oil and then smeared with whatever jar of goodness you choose... it's just so good.
The restaurant does get busy so the servers can get busy but they're friendly and helpful."

"The food was excellent and service was good. I loved the unique flavors and twists on Italian classics. My only complaints are that the food came out WAY too quickly- it was not coursed very well and we did not have enough time in between courses to digest or enjoy. My other complaint is that some of the dishes were not hot enough temperature-wise and the polenta with short rib ragu was really lacking in salt."

"Great food and great service. Our waiter was more than knowledgeable about every aspect of the menu and wine list. His recommendations for food and wine were spot on and made for a great restaurant to become even better.
Will definitely be recommending this restaurant to friends/family, and will be returning soon.
Just make sure you get a reservation, as it can get rather busy into the evening."

"Great spot. They specialize in small plates, so it's a nice place to go with at least a few people so you can order things to share. Loved our server. Decor is a combination of rustic and modern. It's a wine bar, so you can't go wrong if you like the vino. It can get a little loud, but that's really my only complaint. It's also slightly pricey, but for the great quality you get, I can't say it's bad value."
