"My mom turned me into a "food monster" at a very young age. So when it comes to good food I usually have a great sense. My friends and I came to eat at TR to celebrate my birthday. Eating at nice places isn't something that one of my friends is used to, since she can be picky. My other friend is always willing to experience the culture of a food environment and trying new things. We all enjoyed our dinners and will be coming back. It is reasonably priced for the amount of food that you get. They also have fantastic bread. I would go back again as there is so many things that sound great."

"We have been to Trattoria Roman three times in the past 3 months. We have taken guests and everyone has loved their food. In all a sampling of probably nine of their items and no one has walked away hungry or wishing they had ordered something else. Great place."

"We chose this restaurant based on TripAdvisor recommendation. They kindly accommodated our request to push our reservation back by half an hour. We enjoyed the beet salad and watermelon salad specials, and several different pasta dishes; everyone took home another meal's worth of leftovers. It was a busy Friday night, and when several large parties arrived just after us, the noise level increased noticeably and the service, while consistently pleasant, also slowed down a bit; an order for a 2nd glass of wine was also forgotten. (Our server realized the error herself, and apologized profusely.) But overall, we enjoyed ourselves, and will look forward to coming back next time we're in the area."

"Tucked away in a shopping complex on Rte 1 in South County, Trattoria Romana makes their pasta on site and offer gluten-free alternatives. We've been twice and already have future reservations. Nice atmosphere and wait staff. Very enjoyable and yummy."

"Why travel to Providence when this restaurant is as good or better than any I have tried on Federal Hill. Never a bad meal here. . The special Appertizer of Sweet Italian Sausage with Broccoli Rabe and White Beans was superb. The Entree of a broiled Porterhouse Veal Chop was prepaired perfectly medium rare as I ordered. Always a treat eating here"

"We spent a lovely evening with friends in a very relaxing atmosphere. Our waitress was very helpful in helping us make choices as there were several items we could have ordered. There is a bit of noise but not enough to matter, just sounded like a place were everyone was enjoying themselves. Three of us ordered one of the specials of the night and no one was disappointed. Cooked perfectly, nicely presented and all at the same time! Would recommend and we will return."

"Jade was a gem! Seriously, the service was top knotch and her knowledge of the food and wine offerings is rare in today's dining arena. She kept a close eye on our table without interrupting our conversations and was on top of clearing discretely and refilling water. "We have dined here close to a dozen times, but this last weekend was a bit disappointing. My portion was very small, and my wife ordered the Scrod Special, as we thought the dish was in the low $20 range, or so we heard due to noise level, and it turned out to be $29.95! That is way overpriced for Scrod ANYWHERE in the South County area, and it was nothing special! It may be a very long time until we return? BTW...the Table Menu prices displayed in OpenTable are outdated. The entrees have gone up in cost."

"The food was really outstanding - we had a special appetizer - brocolli rabe with sausage and white beans, which is one of the best dishes I've ever eaten - and I don't even like brocolli rabe! The bread at TR is outstanding, too, which to me always makes a restaurant special. Our waiter, whom we've had once before, was very efficient, friendly and helpful. For the quality and the quantity (I took a big portion of pasta home) the prices were also very reasonable. Great restaurant!"

"Every restaurant is not right for every diner. We had heard a lot about this very popular restaurant and were looking forward to our first visit. The menu is huge and we should have been alerted by the note that they have a $5 split plate charge ... and the fact they many were leaving with doggie bags. As we looked over the options it was clear that many dishes were identical except for the protein. We are not overly picky eaters but we do try and avoid fatty foods. I selected the Pollo Fiorintina, sautéed chicken breast in Marsala over pasta. When it came they had left on the skin but it was not crispy. While I could remove the soggy skin, the sauce itself was leaded with fat."

"We have been to this restaurant on several occasions and have always had a wonderful time.. The food and service has always been great. However, this time everything it was not up to par. We were there celebrating my wife's birthday and my brother's 42nd wedding anniversary. He was from out of town and I suggested the restaurant. My brother found a rather large bone in his veal parmesan. He spoke to our waitress about it. She took the bone away without apologizing. A man, possibly the manager, came over to the table apologized and offered a new dinner. Dinner was almost over so he declined. We had dessert and coffee. The waitress brought our check and said they took a 6.95 dessert off our 200.00 bill. Poor customer service."

"We arrived a few minutes before our reservation and the place was packed. There was even a wait to sit at the bar. The hostess was polite and seated our party in a timely manner. The waitress arrived to our table moments later (enough time to look at the wine list.) The wine glasses were big and made a statement. I love beautiful glasses. There were many delicious choices on the menu but I am true to seafood. I had the salmon and it was a generous portion with mashed potatoes and vegetable on the side. We skipped the dessert but were not rushed out. Overall the experience as pleasurable and we will return in the near future."

"A never miss restaurant. Always interesting specials in addition to their regular menu. I had Beef Brascole as an Entree and my guest had a Seafood Chippino Both off the Special Menu, and both superb. As usual, the Owner, Maitre d; and wait staff were always attentive. Can,t wait to return"

"While the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the food is always outstanding, table seating in the bar area is very cramped and uncomfortable. If you are seated with your back to the bar area, and the bar is crowded, chances are you will be bumped into several times. Servers have to squeeze between tables to serve, which again leads to an uncomfortable dining experience. I would definitely request alterative seating in the other room on a Friday or Saturday night. Food is fabulous!"

"This was our first time eating at Trattoria Romana. It was so good. The service was just a tad slow, but our waitress was really nice and this would not stop me from eating there again. The prices on the food were pretty decent. The drinks were expensive but where can you go and not pay a fortune for drinks. I would recommend this restaurant and can't wait to eat there again."

"The one thing that stood out was the service. The waitperson was extremely knowledgeable of the specials and since I had to have a low salt diet she made sure that my salad and entree were not extra salted. If without the extra seasoning my meal was delicious."
