"This was the first time my family and I went to dinner at Cafe Sistina and the food was delicious! Overall, it was a great experience, especially for a special occasion like Mother's Day and for a very reasonable price. However, keep in mind, the service is at a more leisurely pace...I believe you're meant to enjoy your company! If you're in a rush and just need a quick bite to eat, this may not be the place. The ambiance and classic italian dishes are greatly appreciated."

"Friendly Italian server welcomed us and offered my wife two Italian wine samples based on her interest and curiosity. Ordered bruschetta and caprese appetizers which were delicious, especially with dusting of Parmesan and sprinkles of balsamic vinegar ((your option). We ordered Veal Bolognese and Florentine. Meals were a generous portion for most adults and presented well. Veal was good quality with tasty sauce marinade. Pasta was "button" with red sauce (your option). Dessert was flavorful tropical sorbet and tiramisu with a cafe Sistina special coffee with added crime de cacao and cherry liqueur. It was a delightful Mothers Day special date. While there, enjoy the full wall murals depicting scenes from Michelangelo and others."

"It's like dining in the Sistine Chapel. The food is delicious though I think their salads are a bit over pricey for what you get. Still, not much to complain about as you dine while surrounded these beautiful Italian paintings all hand drawn by the restaurant's owner."

"Cafe Sistina is consistently a high value place to eat. Recommended if you want Italian food a few notches up on the typical. Wine list is very limited, but two can dine happily for about 80-90 plus tip. Owner likes to paint - enjoy the walls."

"Servers and helpers work very hard. They were literally running from table to table trying to give decent service. Girlfriend remarked she felt dizzy watching then dash around and I agreed. I totally blame manangement and owners for not having enough staff to provide service. On the fence if I'll return, this was my third time and last time I was very satisfied. This time quite the opposite."

"Completely surprised by this find. We Googled Italian restaurant in Honolulu and found this gem. The food was excellent, the pinot noir we ordered was very smooth and the cherry cheesecake was awesome. The portions were huge, but I had no problems. Service was very good for as crowded as the restaurant was for a Tuesday night."

"Disappointing - food, service and overall. Would not return to this restaurant even with a discount. The overall of the restaurant does not seem organized/managed. The three workers I saw in the restaurant did not seemed trained or coordinated with one another (who's in charge?). The food was disappointing in taste and expected antipasta to be a salad but what was that? The pasta had no flavor, it was just tomato sauce with some hot sauce."

"Gosh we really love it here but this last visit was frustrating. We included friends who had never been here before and were embarrassed at the service. Our waiter was wonderful, but it really looked like they had way too few on staff to handle a full restaurant. We waited for everything and that wasn't only disappointing to us, but heck, we would've had at least two more rounds of drinks if they had been on it when we wanted them, so they lost out on income! We will go back, but we didn't really feel the love on this trip."

"We loved the Cafe Sistina. The paintings on the walls are gorgeous, and made for great conversation. The food was delicious. The only down side to our visit was that dinner took almost an hour to arrive. However, the waitstaff kept us informed, and we were offered a free glass of wine for our patience. "We waited for 50 minutes for our main entrees to arrive and 15 minutes before we were served bread. The bus boy was very attentive with filling waters and he said it was so busy because they just released a groupon. I could tell the few servers that were on (looked like only two for the entire restaurant) were very rushed and flustered and couldn't really give great service. My recommendation would be to be better staffed to provide more personable service. Food was great as always."

"We had a pleasant meal after a slow start. It took awhile to get our bread and order taken, but the appetizers arrived on time. The appetizers were the best part of the meal as the escargot is very good and the caprese is very fresh and tasty. The duck sausage with ravioli was quite good. I was not a big fan of the opakapaka mediterraneano despite the capers."

"What a wonderful find on open table, as would never have gone without seeing this as an option for dinner.
On a Saturday night at 7:30pm the restaurant was extremely busy, with our server, also manager, bartendress, hostess, and a few other hats that i'm not aware of.
The restaurant should have better controls of seating times made available (dont be affraid to say, we have 745pm, 8pm, 815pm which do you prefer?, so guest don't have to wait until just before 8pm to get a glass of wine (had to flag a busboy down to request a couple of glasses of Prosecco), but after that all was great.

"Nice selection of menu items, and the lighting was extremely bright - so much so that it gave it a bit of a dinner feel - we thought that possibly they had forgotten to adjust them from lunch to dinner and asked our waiter. Waiter said, "Yes, we get several comments about it being too bright and not romantic, but the owner wants it this bright so people can see the art". The art is big and would be tough to miss in half the lighting! The food was good, fresh, but not outstanding, we will go back to give it another try... maybe with sunglasses."

"We arrived only a half hour before closing due to some confusion. Even though we were coming in so late, the staff at Cafe Sistina provided impeccable service and made sure we didn't feel rushed. On top of the phenomenal service, the food was excellent. I lived in Italy for 3.5 years and have missed the food immensely, Cafe Sistina gave me a taste of Italy, more authentic than anything I've had in a very long time."

"Took our friends from Japan. We ordered Lobster Ravioli, Veal Piccata, Risotto and a vegetarian pasta. Dressing on salad which we shared was superb - as were all dishes. Waiters were busy with pre-concert crowd, but still managed to be attentive to our table. Love the Sistine Chapel murals - lots of flesh above our heads."

"We enjoyed all of our apps (mushroom&polenta, escargot&polenta, roasted eggplant, salad). A couple of our entrees weren't as enjoyable because the veal and chicken were overcooked & dry. But my venison ragu & sister's boar sausage with gnocchi were AWESOME!! All the servers worked well together & provided wonderful service!

"This time I had the single portion salad, duck sausage with butternut squash ravioli with the lemon cheesecake for dessert. As this is my second time here, I think the word got out how wonderful the food & service was because it was packed! This time I went with a friend of mine I hadn't seen in years. We were still able to hold a conversation without raising our voices. The parking attendant will ask for $3 to park after 6pm upfront, tell him you have no change, because the restaurant validates."
