"Good good, but my group was practically falling asleep by the time we got our meals and check. Waited a long time for drinks, appetizers, dinner and dessert. They comped us one free dessert but it was hardly enough to make up for feeling neglected for two hours."

"We've been to Bar Agricole a few times - mostly for dinner or wine (or both). I didn't think about going for brunch until I started looking for a nearby place for a Mother's Day brunch. It was my wife's first Mother's Day, so I wanted to keep close to home in case the baby melted down. I also was hoping we'd get seated outside in Agricole's nice outdoor garden area - which worked out and resulted in a great brunch. Basically, great service, great food; we were well attended-to, the cocktails were excellent, and this place is totally under the radar for the neighborhood - hidden from street view (which is a good thing on 11th/Folsom). Plus, buckwheat beignets...nuff said."

"We went for Mother's day brunch. I had the buckwheat beignets and the semolina pancake. They were delicious. I am still dreaming about them. I was expecting something nice but the dishes were way about my expectations.

"We sent on the recommendation of friends, and were very pleased. It was getting busy, but I could still talk with my wife across the table without yelling. The bar scene looked to be happening.
We had the fried smelt, artichoke soup, fennel salad, and duck breast; all of which were excellent. Presentation, quality, ingredients, and portion were all excellent.
The standout was the service. Everyone (a team of five) was attentive without being obtrusive, and very, very nice."

"The ambiance was busy, but a comfortable busy. The restaurant was pleasantly buzzing with activity. The food was outstanding. My husband and I began with the Sea Urchin Deviled Eggs which were fresh and tasty. I ate the Green Farro with shiitake mushrooms, green garlic and green almonds, which was meaty and just made me want to eat more with every bite. My husband had the Crispy Duck which he proceeded to devour. His plate was absolutely clean by the time he was done. The service was excellent. The waiter was attentive but not overbearing. Overall, Bad Agricole was a near perfect dining experience."

"BAR AGRICOLE is quite the scene with a limited but very fresh and delicious food offering.
There is a very limited selection of fish and meat dishes with a total offering of about 12 appetizers and entrees many vegetarian.The chicken breast with fava beans and various sauces was quite delicious but for $30, a single small very tender breast of chicken was beautiful and mouth melting but not satisfying in quantity.
The cod offering was also quite delicious and also of small portion. Even with a delicious duck liver appetizer, entree and dessert, the party needed to go across the street to the crepe stand to satisfy the hunger we still had. The portions definitely were small and were not inexpensive.

Food: Few things on the menu but hit my weakness. Duck!!! I love duck. The liver tartine was delicious, earthy and so tasty. "Went for brunch on a Sunday and had a great time! We split the pancake between the four of us as an appetizer (it was pretty big), and it was delicious! The three eggs with biscuit and gravy was really tasty, as was the mortadella sandwich.
Can't go wrong with this place. The menu isn't a typical menu so if you are unsure of anything ask your server! Ours was great at explaining everything and making sure we knew the portions were big!"

"Bar Agricole executed an overall 'very good' dinner service, not without its hiccups for the nit-picky at heart. Though I sat inside, the outdoor quasi-open air seating looked wonderful. The hostess was pleasant if a bit detached; when I showed up 30 minutes early for my reservation (understandably a fair bit early) to check in and see if anything would be available earlier, she responded that nothing was open and that my reservation would still be for the time I specified. But she didn't suggest any other options to pass the next 30 minutes - I had to ask, "So ... should I get a drink at the bar or leave and come back??" And for being a weekday and reserving ahead of time, we, of course, end up with the worst table at the very back."

"If unique is what you are seeking then Bar Agricole is the place for you. Deliciously created mixed drinks with amazing flavors - most bitterly beautiful. "Bar Agricole's serves a great variety of drinks. I was disappointed that the new chef removed the pasta dish on the menu. I always looked forward to the pasta du jour. The new menu is very limited, only a few entrees to choose from. I also missed the brandade appetizer. And my duck breast entree came with 4 turnip tips which were inedible. Very weird. We were compensated with dessert, but still."

"The ambiance and cocktails get top marks here. The food, while interesting and tasty, is not consistent, however. Some dishes were quite inventive in terms of pairings and flavors, but others did not meet my expectations for the type of restaurant I think this venue is trying to be. If you are going to Bar Agricole for drinks and nibbles, this is a good place to spend some time. If you want a more substantial meal, however, I would recommend going elsewhere."

"The patio was booked for a private party, but we were tucked nice into a table off the main aisle. The two men next to us were VERY loud - not the restaurants fault, but conversation was difficult. That being said, the food was excellent. A change in the kitchen seems to have been a good idea. We will happily return."

"International business group of eleven gives high marks across the board. Chef prepared a family style meal and served it on the patio. Menu was well thought out and every dish demonstrated the chef's excellent skill. Staff was helpful and friendly and not intrusive. Bartender knows the business and delivered excellent drinks. "This was my second visit here. The first time, we had a great time -- outstanding service and very good food. This most recent time, it didn't work out so well. Food was still good. They really understand flavors and texture here in a way that you don't see often. Service though was slow and inattentive. Like some of the reviews I saw on Yelp, we waited about 30 minutes in between courses -- well past a "leisurely" pace. And it wasn't just us. The man next to us had a wine served to him AFTER he had finished the course it was supposed to be paired with (And this was not a busy night for them). I really enjoy the food here, but the service was so bad that we ended up canceling a reservation we had for another night to take guests."

"Service was okay, food was way better. Drinks were very good as well. I'd return for these reasons. Perhaps it was just our server? It wasn't bad, just a bit indifferent, with a bit of attitude. Brought my overall rating down a star."

"The menu is just too weird. It's hard to find something that you want to actually eat. That said, once you order something, it is delicious. They would benefit from having a few more straightforward menu items.
The service in general was really friendly and professional, but a request for bread with the main course really threw them.
The bar seems less crazy busy than it used to be - and that makes the restaurant seem less hip."

"My favorite part was that we were NOT rushed out after or meal. I met up with an old friend and we were allowed to take or tine after the meal which was refreshing. Everything was good. Foodie place. Lots if thought into ingredients in both drinks and food. Coo outdoor space and indoor."

"My first reaction: What's a restaurant like this doing in this neighborhood? I love the interior and mood: modern, clean and spacious. The food is wonderful! Beautifully presented, similar to many michelin starred restaurants. My only one gripe is that the portions are tiny (one notch below small). But still, there's a good chance I may return."

"We enjoyed the food at Bar Agricole, the duck breast was simply one of the best I've ever had, extremely tender. The reason why I only gave 2 stars for the service is that we had to wait veeeeery long between the starters and the mains (at least 45 mins)

"I returned to Bar Agricole recently on a warm night and ate on the patio. The cocktails were fantastic -- as was the food. We started with a broccolini and hummus dish and then I had the duck confit. Both were simply perfection! The service was wonderful as well. Go here and you won't regret it."

"The outside patio looks amazing- will return on a warm day to dine outdoors. At dinner, our waiter was distracted and unattentive to the point it was annoying. Had to rely on other servers for water, drinks, etc. Deviled eggs were delightful, entrees pricey and on the small side. Great bar."

"Our recent dinner at Bar Agricole was a little disappointing. Some of the dishes felt like they were trying to hard to be different and the flavors didn't really harmonize. The waiter described the menu as all share plates and when we ordered the soup they were perplexed at having to split the servings since there were four of us. The drinks were yummy but small sizes and a little pricey. The ambiance was very cool and the service was good. But I'm not dying to go back soon."

"Creative and hip atmosphere, art, architecture, design, lighting, and overall presentation! Awesome, sophisticated mixed drinks! One of the best salads I've ever had too! Service was very friendly, but a little slow. Now the main courses, WARNING WILL ROBINSON, (my party ordered and shared one of everything on the menu) for the price and the effort put into everything else, the main courses were a crime. They were pedestrian at best."

"Such a disappointment! I was very excited to come here for dinner and every aspect was a letdown. My food was mediocre and for the price seriously lacking - I had the sturgeon, and the portion was tiny and bland. I ordered a glass of wine before my meal came and had to ask for it twice. It finally got delivered when I was just about finished eating rather than with my meal! Then another staff member brought a duplicate order over by accident. The service was terrible and not attentive and not communicating with each other. My friend's dish was mediocre as well, she ordered the vegetarian entree centered around mushrooms and forgot the mushrooms. I mean, for the rating and cost, a truly disappointing experience"
