"It was date night for me and the girlfriend and man was she in shock. As always the place is spectacular, view, clean, Vee professional staff, everything. Our server was John and made great wine recommendations. The food again was to die for. A must place for a intimate date night or even a very special occasion."

"i had made a reservation for 630 for my girl's bday. i made it for that time so we could have a sunset view during the duration of the dinner. when one walks in to the place it faces south and there is an east dining side and a west dining side. we get seated in the east wing where NOBODY IS SITTING. the whole population of the restaurant is on the west side. the sun is slowly setting over the ocean, its all wonderful and alive, and here we are ..feeling like we are in quarantine in an empty room. so i checked..there were tables open. why didnt they ask us if we minded missing out on the famous view of this place? idk. it had me biting my lip..my girl insisted i didn't mention to the staff. other than that, it was a greatttttt experience!"

"I've been going to this restaurant infrequently for many years mainly do to the fact that I live out of state. Always enjoyed my experience with food, service and views. You never know why all the stars line up on any particular evening but Mister A's hit a grand slam tonight. All our dishes could not have been better from starters to entrees. Service was spot on and professional. For that special occasions you will not be disappointed selecting this house."

"We had mark as our server. Phenomenal. From the valet to exiting the entire service made you feel like royalty. Not to mention the food was amazing, the view just topped it off. Getting to see planes land and the ocean, it is definitely a romantic dinner or if you're trying to impress anyone. By far best restaurant I've been to and the price is worth it!"

"I try to go out to eat with my girlfriend at a top-dollar spot once every month or two. Bertrand at Mister A's definitely qualifies as a top dollar spot - I spent a little over $200 after tip for the two of us (4 drinks, 2 apps, 2 entrees). But the service was spectacular, the view was amazing, the atmosphere was romantic, and the food was good.
The food should be the cornerpiece of every restaurant and I have been to similarly priced places that present flavors which blew my mind. The items we had didn't quite do that, but the food was fresh, hot, delicious, and packed with flavor. Consistently excellent quality but nothing that put it over the top to "I have never had anything this good before." Nevertheless, we'll be back."

"This was a special occassion for us and I am sorry that I chose to spend it here. The waiter was not attentive at all as a matter of fact I had to inquire about someone taking out order. Then once we established that he would be waiting on our table he acted like I was doing something wrong by wanting prompt service. The food was good but I didn't feel like I received what I paid for. The service was definitely not up to par with a 150 price tag. I won't go back."

"I made a dinner reservation online for Sunday, April 14, 2012 at 7:45 p.m. for a two (2) special occasions: my daughter's 25th birthday and her boyfriends job offer at USC medical. I did not receive the great service I had received previously. Our waiter was distracted and we were seated near a large party so wait staff kept bumping into our chairs and we waited a considerable amount of time for our drinks / dinner. We did not get the window seat we requested and the waiter did not acknowledge the birthday or the special event that I provided in my online reservations. The waiter of course warmed up to us just before the bill was presented. I was very disappointed and apologized repeatedly to my guests."

The girlfriend said it was the best lobster and the nicest dinner she has ever had.
My food was about average. Nothing stood out as amazing. The black tiger shrimp cocktail appetizer was better than my main course.

"I took my wife here for our first wedding anniversary. The food was delicious. The staff was prompt and made you feel comfortable, even if you were not used to such a swanky restaurant. The view is amazing, and afterwards we wandered outside to look over the railing at all of San Diego. I would come back here in a heartbeat."

"From the moment we entered the entire staff made us feel welcome and special. Our window table view was spectacular. The host, waiter and servers were attentive and friendly, but not bothersome. The food was excellent, as was the wine list. This is a fantastic place for any group to celebrate a special occaision, or for a couple to enjoy a very romantic dinner. We will definitely return the next time we are in San Diego."

"The food was fabulous! We ate on the terrace on a most beautiful Easter afternoon. Absolutely perfect! Our waiter, on the other hand, not so much. He forgot several drink orders and/or got them wrong. He did comp quite a bit though, so that made up for it."

"Had a wonderful brunch on Easter outside overlooking the downtown harbor and airport. The weather was perfectly sunny and the service was excellent. Absolutely nothing to complain about especially on a busy holiday such as Easter. They offered a prefix menu and everything was cooked to perfection. "I would have given it 5 stars for Ambiance except for the slightly slipping standards of dress. I have noticed that the requirements for "appropriate attire required" have dipped over the years. We rode up the elevator with a group of men all wearing jeans and casual shirts. Several of the ladies were also wearing jeans. It is a bit sad that in such a beautiful dining room and with such lovely service that patrons can't make a bit more of an effort to get dressed up."

"I love Mr. A's. Have been there many times, but never for lunch. My experience was different. After being seated and offered drinks by the maitre'd, we sat there. Nothing happened. Nobody came to take our order, offer bread, ask about questions, nothing. Sat there for maybe twenty minutes. Finally I got up and started walking around the restaurant looking for anybody who might be able to communicate with the kitchen for us. Finally a man saw me and came running. He then took care of us, but I don't think he was supposed to be our waiter. Never saw that person. I had Lobster bisque, which was not good. It had shrimp in it, and the taste was far too strong. Then had chicken club which was good. Bad experience, but will go back."

"It was our 14th Anniversary celebration and Mr A's made it memorable. It has to have one the best dining experiences ever! The staff went out of their way to make our night special. The food melted in your mouth! I loved the Mac and cheese and the bread was heavenly! We had Mediterranean Paella and the Pork Belly pave it was wonderful and for dessert we had Creme Brulee and they even sent complimentary Anniversary cookies. The whole evening was magical from the view to food I loved everything. Thank you Mr.A's for making my Anniversary so unforgettable."

"Exceptional food, ambiance and overall experience. Each course was perfectly proportioned and very delicious. I highly recommend their venison or their duck! The view was beautiful as well- able to look out over the city to the bay. A few planes came in to land while we were eating and they flew right through our view. It was a wonderful evening. "We arrived for our reservation, and we're promptly seated at a table with an amazing view of downtown San Diego. The wait staff was absolutely wonderful––prompt, courteous, never hovered, but there when we needed them. The courses flowed seamlessly. The venison loin was divine, and the duck was very tasty, though my boyfriend was apprehensive about the huckleberry sauce. Dessert was the Meyer lemon layered cake with lavender scented cream. Delicious without being heavy. We'd definitely go back to Mister A's."
