"Enjoyed a delicious dinner here with colleagues while visiting Minneapolis on a business trip. We were recommended to Cafe Lurcat by a local and we were so glad we decided to try it out. The waiter was great with explaining the menu, helping us choose a wine and in making suggestions when asked. Every dish we ordered was really flavorful and prepared to perfection from the appetizers and salads to steaks and an order of profiteroles for dessert. The service was fantastic without being obtrusive and we walked out saying it was the best meal any of us had enjoyed in a while. Highly recommend!"

"There was nothing wrong with our experience at Lurcat except that it is way over priced for food that doesn't light the world on fire.
The crab cake was very basic, mashed up crab, not lump etc.
both entree's were fine but lacked anything special which we should expect at $35+ each.
The fries are still awesome.
In Minneapolis today there are far better ways to spend $200 on dinner for two."

"Our second experience at Lurcat was just as memorable as our first. Amazing food. Three of us each had appetizers, meals, desert, side dishes to share and a couple of cocktails and we paid less than $200. An amazing value for the quality of the food."

"We visited Cafe Lurcat for the first time for Mothers Day Brunch. We had 7 in our group and had a great time. Service was friendly but a little scattered, but it was really busy in there at that time. Our food was served family style at the table, and everyone enjoyed it. The restaurant was beautiful, and they had a kids' area set up with coloring and balloons - great idea! They also have valet parking, which was great for family who met us there that weren't familiar with the area. Our server mentioned that Sunday night is "date night," so we are going back to check that out. I would love to see it at night!"

"Cafe Lurcat only serves brunch twice a year--at Easter and Mothers' Day--and it's a special treat. The wonderful assortment of dishes are served family style, so you are not shuttling back and forth to a buffet to fill your plate. There is a craft table set up for the kids, just in case they get squirrelly. All around, a great place to take mom and the family for Mothers' Day."

"On mothers day, the restaurant was busy and very noisy. A guest in our party of six has hearing difficulties and was going to have to leave, since she couldn't participate in the conversations. The host very kindly found and set up a table for us in the blissfully quiet middle dining room (even though we had already been seated in the main dining room and service had started). It was a delightful evening for a group of out-of-towners; made me very proud of the home team. Thanks!"

"I have only been here in the past for date nights, but decided to bring the family out for a graduation celebration. Our group of 9 was never left wanting, our server was the best I've had so far (a lovely gentleman from Canada). The food was great as always, we got some vegetables to share for the table, including morels with fiddle-heads, which were fabulous! Drinks arrived promptly and everyone had an excellent meal. Another great experience at Cafe Lurcat, thank you!"

"Cafe Lurcat was one of the most interesting, unique, and beautiful restaurants I've ever seen. It is in an old refurbished area of an urban area in Minneapolis. The food was outstanding. The only thing a little odd was the anise flavor in the lobster ravioli. The description on the menu said "herbs" but if a chef is going to put anise into a lobster pasta I thought it should have been disclosed. My daughter hated it but I didn't think it was too bad. The Baby beets, grapefruit and chicory salad was the most unbelievably delicious salad we've ever tasted!!! The Chilean sea bass with miso was excellent as was the apple/cheese and chive salad. The Triple Chocolate Cream cake was VERY tasty too. The waitress was young but attentive."

"The most remarkable thing about this remarkable evening was our waiter. His knowledge of the menu and detailed analysis of the preparations exceeded that of many chefs. "We went with a group of 10 on Sunday night. The restaurant was very busy with a large event. We got our wine/drinks ordered and delivered in a timely manner but then waited about 40 minutes to get our order taken. We then waited at least another 30 minutes before getting the appetizers. Dinner was also another 30 minutes AFTER finishing the apps. We had to finally get the waiter's attention to order dessert. Total time was more than two and a half hours and it even took more time to get the check. They knew they had a large event and did not staff accordingly - and we suffered. We have had great food experiences here before (mushroom app and chicken with gemolata sauce entree are fab)but bad service from time to time."

"The food was some of the best we've had in area restaurants recently. I ordered the hanger steak and tasted the ahi tuna and scallops. All were first rate. The service was slow. The server did provide some good info on some of the dishes offered, but seemed to lose touch with our table of 10 throughout the dinner. The restaurant acknowledged the long wait for dinner by providing unsolicited, complemenatary desserts for the table. I would recommend Cafe Lurcat for a special night out. The food and the view through the large windows are worth the trip."

"FABULOUS! My son and I went for Sunday evening "date night". You get a bottle of wine to share, and each person gets an appetizer, entree and dessert. For $50. Seriously. Amazing! Everything was totally delicious. Service was wonderful. This is my favorite Twin Cities restaurant. Great atmosphere with a view of Loring Park. We'll be back during another of my visits to Minneapolis. I totally recommend this restaurant, and the date night special is almost too good to believe."

"My wife and I celebrated our 22nd Anniversary. Never having heard of Lurcat, we went to the review section. It had very good reviews and we would have to agree with them. The food portions were perfect and the food was outstanding. Our server did a great job of explaning the menu and did a great job at allowing us our space and at the same time being there when needed. The price was a little spendy but it was well worth it."

"The food was great, however our meal took close to 3 hours. The service was not the best. No one came to check on us during our courses to make sure we didn't need anything and to see if we were okay with our food. In between courses, we waited close to a half hour for the next course. I would go back to Cafe Lurcat as the food was good, however if I have another bad experience with the service it will be my last time dining there."

"This was my first time at Cafe Lurcat. I had heard good reviews but needed to confirm for myself. My GF has also been asking to go there so we made reservations through opentable. When we got there we got seated right away. It was much bigger than it looked. There are two sections the Cafe side and the bar side. We ate and sat in the Cafe side. Our hostess was very friendly and our Server was Excellent. I had the Sea bass and Brussel Sprouts while my GF had the Pot Roast and Crab Cake. All were excellent. I was very impressed with the Sea bass. If you have not had this dish I highly recommend you try it."

"A very nice atmosphere with great ambiance. Well staged. Wait staff was attentive and knowledgeable. I would like to ask all waitstaff at various restaurants to not give so much information that you can't remember half of it before you place your order. Too many words to process. "Another very nice evening at Cafe Lurcat. The food is wonderful, never disappoints. The only disappointment is the uneven service at times. The server hovered until we ordered, then disappeared for long periods. Definite feeling that we were ignored when we did not order a lot of alcohol. Just a bit of a sour note to an otherwise wonderful evening."
