"Took a long time to get a rez but wait was worth it... well, just about. Food was really tasty but due to its ridiculous popularity, they really pack you in there. Couldn't help but get cozy with neighboring tables. Also very noisy, hard to have a conversation with your tablemates."

"Second time in 2 weeks that I lunched at Barbuzzo! Each time the food was delicious & the atmosphere vibrant! A couple of sidewalk tables this week (now that the weather is finally warm)...looked very cozy out there! Leave room for the famous budino dessert...it's heaven in a mason jar! Planning a Friday afternoon soon...outside table...sipping sangria...perfect end to the workweek--Can't wait!"

"Our food was the biggest enemy...too salty for some dishes & no flavor on others (i.e. pork rind appetizer). Out server had an indifferent attitude and was more about chatting with his coworkers. Its a good location but overall not worth the time"

"Two of us ordered four items- Greek Farro Salad, Fig gorgonzola pizza, octopus, and gnocci. All were excellent. We then ordered the cheese plate followed by the budino and the bread pudding. Everything was excellent. There are so many interesting things on the menu we can't wait to go back to try more. The sangria was a bit sweet for me. I prefer one that is more like red wine than juice."

"Excellent cocktails, our server knew every detail of the menu, excellent food. The lemon-fava bean arancini were particularly amazing on their spring menu. I also loved the pork ragu pasta and the new hanger steak dish. We had the salted caramel budino for dessert--unbelievably good. Capogiro is right across the street, but you would miss out if you didn't have dessert at Barbuzzo!"

"This was really a great dining experience. We had the sheep's milk ricotta, the burrata, the grilled octopus, and the tonnarelli nero pasta. I would gladly order any of these dishes again, but I also want to try everything on the menu. The two of us were satisfied with this amount of food, which means this doesn't have to be a terribly expensive place to eat. Next time, though, I won't skip dessert! Can't wait to go back!"

"First time visiting Philadelphia even though live in NJ! Usually go to NYC for good food! Well..barbuzzo has changed that for me! Went with 2 friends to celebrate a birthday. They have a wonderful menu for sharing ! We shared 4 different dishes and each was more memorable then the next! The beet salad with kale was absolutely delicious! What. Wonderful salad for a warm summer day! You have to try the pizza...any pizza...the crust is so flakey and light! Not the heavy pizza drenched in oil! The antipasti salad had a nice variation of foods on it Nd the cheese platter was a great way to finish off our meal before dessert! Oh...try the sangria! So delicious and thirst quenching! Will definitely be back! Service was excellent!"

"My husband and I went here for dinner last Friday and it was a fantastic experience. We were running late and had a hard time with parking. We called the restaurant to let them know we'd be late and not only did they hold our reservation, when I arrived my table was ready and waiting for me--LOVE that! Our waitress could NOT have been more accommodating or friendly and the pace was perfect. We had the following to eat: Asparago pizza (UNBELIEVABLY delicious--a must have), Fava & preserved lemon arancini (also incredible-get it!), grilled octopus salad (very good but the pizza & arancini were more impressive), and pappardelle pasta (good, but needed a bit more acidity) and finished w/ the boudino--just as incredible as promised."

"great ambience, but food is average, especially for the price.
-marrow-very good -octopus was fair, meatballs were ok, paccheri pasta-ragu was a bit burnt -good waiter -too close to other diners -budino dessert- great"

"... I've been hearing a lot about Barbuzzo, and I finally got a good enough date to try the place out. This was for dinner for two, 9:15 on Saturday night. The place was buzzing and there wasn't a spare place to sit/eat even at the bar. This was good. However, the place is a bit cramped; it is kind of a long skinny restaurant and not too much to look at. In the sense that it was nice, but very casual. That is, I wouldn't count this place as "special occasion".
The good was very good and the dessert they recommended (the one in a glass and with caramel) was to die for. The waiter said it is the single best thing on the menu and he wasn't joking."

"This is an extremely popular restaurant and so are their sister restaurants. We had a reservations and there was a makeshift line outside for lunch. The staff and food were great, I get the feeling you want to try a a variety of titems they do just becuase its different. The boards are great and wish I had ordered at least one more for the group. In talking to locals they are all very pleased with what they have done for the neighborhood."

"I still prefer the service, ambiance, and food at Zavino's next door, but Barbuzzo has a wider selection of items on the menu (not just pizza and antipasti), and the Italian/Greek dishes in tapas style is an innovative choice. The food is all excellent and clearly the chef has put a lot of thought into the pairings; but sometimes the seasoning is just a bit off (simple things, like too much or too little salt) and the salad was severely over-dressed. All in all, this was a really great experience, and I'm glad to have tried it, but there are at least 3 good restaurants just on the same street corner, so for repeats, I think I'll hang onto my neighborhood favorites."

"It's been a while that my friends and I try to get we're trying to get a table at Barbuzzo. When we finally made for April 30 at 9.15 pm we were thrilled about it. Unfortunately, when we arrived at the restaurant, our table was not available. The excuse the staff used was that the party before us decided to go for more food after having gotten dessert. So we were seated at the bar for almost 1/2 hour although we were on time for our reservation.
The waitress who take are f us when we got finally seated, was very polite and helpful.
To my mind, they should handle the situation in a more professional way and they should be polite rather than arrogant."

"Food was awesome - service was not. Waiter never came back to check to see that everything was OK. Server basically dropped the plates on the table and ran off before I could ask him for something else. We had to flag down the waiter to pay our check."

"This was a great spot for a dinner with my girlfriends. The food was very good, but the server mixed up what i ordered for my main course twice. It might have been due to the noise in the restaurant. I'm unsure. I would probably go back despite the mix up."

"I had eaten at Barbuzzo a while back and remember thinking that is was not as good as the hype I had heard. I'm so glad that I returned because it was a delicious meal. Only issue was that the pacing of the food could have been a little better -- we got kind of jammed up with too much at once, but our waiter was good and I totally enjoyed the meal. Highlights were the beet salad, octopus and flank steak. Pasta was good, but a little salty. Can't wait to go back!"

"Everything was great, except that the service was only okay: my waiter only grudgingly accommodated my request for a simple substitution for my order (guanciale instead of lardo on my pizza,) and was not especial friendly in general. Because of the great food and atmosphere I would still highly recommend."

"The food was wonderful, the service as well, but I felt like I was sitting in my neighbor's lap. My husband refuses to eat diner there if the waiter needs to reach over him to attend to the next table. The sangria was amazing, so we would sit at the bar and grab a snack next time."

"I've been to Barbuzzo previously, and am committed to taking friends there for dinner when they visit me in Philly. I have found that dinner is better than lunch, although to get a reservation for dinner (particularly on a Fri or Sat) requires a couple of weeks of advance notice. Service was outstanding -- Cassandra was phenomenal!!!"

"My boyfriend and I with two of our friends were in town for the weekend visiting from Ohio. My coworker, originally from Philly, recommended your place as a must go to. We are both managers in the business which makes us foodies. This is her favorite restaurant, so I couldn't wait to try. Let me just say, she couldn't have been more right! Our server and all the staff were very accommodating and friendly. He was great with offering suggestions, and we all loved the food!! The place is truly a gem!"

"I stopped for lunch at Barbuzzo before catching a flight back home. The weather was warm and sunny that afternoon, following a long winter, and it was great to sit outside and take in the sidewalk traffic on 13th. I had a steak sandwich for lunch, which was delicious, albeit a tad too thick, but that is more about my preference than about the steak, itself. I like that they serve beer and wine rather than being a byob. If I'm in the area again, I would not hesitate to come back for lunch or dinner."

"What stood out most to me during my dining experience was how helpful and friendly the Barbuzzo staff were! Our waitress was fantastic. Very accommodating and always checking on us. Every single thing we ate was an absolute pleasure. Even my coffee was delicious. The stand out hands down was the salted caramel budino. If you're fortunate enough to get a reservation at Barbuzzo you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you skipped out on this dessert. 5 stars. I will absolutely be returning."

"Barbuzzo is worth the hype... Had a 7:00 reservation and sat at 7:00- they had our table for 4 waiting for us and we didn't have to wait one single minute. The food, as usual was incredible. I recommend the lardo pizza, we got it on a whim and it was DELICIOUS! I also really loved the butternut arancini, octopus salad, aspargo pizza, roasted beet salad sheeps milk ricotta, and the stuffed meatballs.. Oops!! I just listed everything we ordered! Don't forget to get the salted caramel budino.. Once again- bar buzzy was incredible!!"

"I had lunch with a friend last week at Barbuzzo, and we both enjoyed it. The food is wonderful, and the service is great. Space is a little tight, and the ambience a little loud, but the food makes it worth those tiny struggles. I have never been there for dinner, but I think it would be a nice date place."
