"Food was excellent, went with 5 other people. Waiters/waitresses were very friendly. The only thing I noticed is that the benches were not wiped down."

"Went to Newtown today for a quick lunch. Great experience, tables outside, 10 C in the sun and no wind. Took the chicken and it was amazing. Will definitely come back with my colleagues."

3) Waiter had to ask us what we ordered before producing the bill
4) Food quality was average to low but priced very high
5) Food portions were ridiculously small while being pricey

8) Reservation: it took 4 days before receiving confirmation
9) Reservation system can only accomodate a max of 10 people

"This was the single worst dining experience I have ever had.
The service was absolutely terrible. No one greeted us at the door, we had to find someone actually willing to seat us even though the restaurant wasn't very busy and we had a reservation.
Servers didn't care about us and we waited 20 minutes to place a drink order. I then had to remind them that we also wanted to order dinner.
Food came out quickly but that was likely due to the fact that it was all prepared earlier as it did not taste fresh.
Servers never checked on us or even asked us if we would like another drink. They were more interested in taking our money and getting us out the door.
Guy the Manager was rude and also didn't even care to speak to me."

"Beautiful place in the downtown club district. Very upscale restaurant upstairs with casual and classy bar on main floor and club below the main floor. My wife and I only went to the restaurant. The food and service was excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly. It's more on the expensive side but definitely worth it."

"I had a reservation for 4 at this restaurant on a Saturday night. My two guests were from out of town and we were turned away at the door because they had a large party they were hosting and did not have space for us. Also, they said we did not have a reservation, yet it is obvious on OpenTable that there was, hence I'm writing this review. I hope this is just a miss-communication and that they didn't outright lie to our face. Although, they were nice enough to get us a place at W&G but this still left us with a sour taste. I lived on Crescent street at the apt. building next to W&G for a year and never went to NewTown as I heard it was kind of pretentious (have been almost everywhere else). What ridiculousness!"

"We went for Le Chop menu on a Saturday night. The upstairs restaurant was reserved for the evening but the hostess called within 5 minutes of me reserving online to advise me and very nicely suggested an alternative that suited us just fine. The food was great, the drinks were a little pricey (to be expected) and the service was a little slow but overall we had a great meal because we were looking to take our time."

"I have been to Newtown in the past and I find that it is not as good as it used to be. The place was dead on a Saturday night. The wait staff were very slow. Portions were VERY small for the crazy prices they charged. Drinks were good but also over-priced. The location is great for people watching if you get a table by windows. The decor is very nice and trendy. I would probably go back just for a quick drink in the lounge but I don't think I would eat here again."

"besides a super friendly, yet professional reception, we had a quite table near a panoramic window. I started with the scallops (the 3 varieties of huge scallops were all delicious with a great presentation). My wife took the Elk "tartare" and she had similar comments.
Fot the main course, I took the salmon (with risotto on the side). Wow! It was divine in presentation, texture and taste. My wife took the filet mignon and she truly enjoyed it.
For dessert, we had a selection of unbelievable desserts in small versions:
Lemon tart with white chocolate, figues, Guiness and caramel, "tarte tatin", macarons with ganache and a tiny brownie. We could not finish it.
I have been eating at Newtown for years (lunch and dinner). Always excel"

"We chose from a special menu part of the "Le Chop" event where great chefs offer their concoctions at a lower price. The food was ok, nothing to write home about. The drinks were fine, but expensive. The service was lacking, the waitress did not seem experienced and was having trouble managing her tables. Plus, she served us cold coffee!!! It was dissatisfied to the point that I did not give her the full 15% tip.
There was no real ambiance in the restaurant (2nd floor) and even less in the bar/lounge on the ground floor. We were expecting a more vibrant more energetic place, with more people. The music was good, but most people left the bar area around 12:30 am.
I would not recommend this restaurant on a Saturday night."

"Service was very slow. Food took forever. When we finally got it every meal was cold! While we didn't pay for the meal, our intention was to go out for a nice dinner and we were prepared to pay the price. Sadly that was not our experience."
