Dining at the Oxford House Inn is
truly a memorable experience. Culinary Institute of America graduate Chef/Co-Owner Jonathan Spak crafts his seasonally changing menus to showcase the best that local farms have to offer in the farm to table concept. While overall his style is considered contemporary American cuisine, influences and techniques from Asia, Southwestern United States and France are often incorporated. Hand cut steaks, fresh Maine seafood, homemade pastas, fresh salads and decadent desserts are creatively presented. Choose to dine fireside, on our popular screened in front porch, or on our glassed in back porch that offers spctacular sunset mountain veiws. You may also dine at JONATHAN'S, our lively pub. This popular gathering spot features creative specialty cocktails, classic martinis, local beers and varied wines served in a casual yet urban atmosphere. In 2010 we received Four Stars from The Maine Sunday Telegram and are a certified Environmental Leader.
"The Oxford House Inn is located in an old mansion on Main Street in Fryeburg, ME. The view from the dining room in the back of the mansion is lovely overlooking an agricultural valley, ringed by the White Mountains. The food is varied, relying heavily on local and seasonal items, and is delicious. The cost of a dinner is exceptionally reasonable, given the quality of the food. We will continue to go back to the Oxford House (an hour drive for us) for special dinners."

"As always, great food. Love that the menu reflects seasonality and local grown items. Perfect place to spend an evening catching up with friends over food and drink."

"Fantastic, ultra fresh food. The chef really knows his craft. Love the atmosphere in the quant upstairs dinning rooms, but also love the local art filled downstairs pub. Service is always personable, and timely. Dinner at the Oxford House Inn is always a memorable experience."

"Superb food as usual but after a good start the waitress was distracted by a very large party in the front and as the couples in our room left was less and less attentive. When the dessert menu came we ordered coffee and had to wait 10-15 min or more to see it and then didn't order dessert because they were clearly closing up around us & our waitress was helping with that not than attending to us. It was 15 minutes without coming back for the credit card while we cooled our heels, used the WC etc. before we went out to the front and had to have another waitress take payment. Our server finally came out of the kitchen with a pile of napkins she had gotten "tied up" folding. Not acceptable when you still have a table at this level of venue."

"Oxford House is on the Main Street of the small town of Fryeburg, Maine. At first glance it is rather unassuming. However, it was a delight for dinner. The owners and staff are friendly and professional. The back of the restaurant has a breath taking view of the Mt. Washington Valley. The food was non-pretentious and outstanding. So, the food, atmosphere, and service were great. We would highly recommend the Oxford House Inn."

"A lovely sunset view toward the mountains,an innovative pre dinner drink, friendly and funny waitress, wonderful asparagus spring soup started our dinner. The Oxford House is always a good choice! A lively celebrating group in the adjoining room made the place a bit noisy. But they were happy. The hoisin pulled duck was great, the steaks were cooked to perfection and the lamb special was almost perfect. The accompanying risotto was less tasty. We will be back for certain!"

"The food and atmosphere were outstanding. Unfortunately, our waitress did not even come close to providing the type of service you would expect from an establishment as nice as this one."

"This is a really nice restaurant option near the North Conway area. There are a lot of hit or miss restaurants near North Conway, many of them are touristy or snobbish! The food was awesome, we ordered a halibut dish and the duck with pancakes. I was still thinking of how tender the halibut was the next morning. Service was attentive and food was great.
Will definitely come back and check out the pub."

"We were very pleased with our dinner at the Oxford HOuse Inn. We have been trying to find a fine restaurant in this corner of Maine and we finally did. I had the cauliflower curry soup as a first course and the filet for main course. Both near perfection! The filet is not cheap for this neck of the woods, but I am glad I ordered it. Very tender and tasty; served with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My husband had the steak frites (much cheaper than mine) and was happy with his choice. The service was perfect; non rushed; friendly; The dining room was pretty; comfortable; nicely decorated; silverware and plates fit the vintage of the Inn. We would definitely go again. Nice menu; Excellent atmosphere."
