"Ordered a moderately priced bottle of wine that was clearly corked. That can happen anywhere, but when we mentioned it to the GM, he said he had smelled the problem when he opened the bottle -- but never mentioned it to us. HUH? He did replace the wine with a different bottle at no extra cost. The cocktails were good and the meal was so-so."

"This was our first time at Tresca, and it was very good. The food was delicious, although it was a somewhat limited menu(which we did know ahead of time). There were two specials - Salmon and a beef dish I believe, and both were tasty. Our group had a mix of orders - two specials, a pasta dish and a grilled chicken entree, and everyone said they would order their item again, which was a good sign. However., anyone looking for traditional north end red -sauce meals should probably go elsewhere. The seating was great too, with great views of the hustle and bustle on Hanover street."

"My husband and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary at Tresca. I can't say enough about what a wonderful, memorable night we had. The restaurant was beautiful, the food was amazing and the service...impeccable!! They really made our special memory perfect! We will definitely be back for more."

"My only question after dining here the past week was why was the place offering 1000 point reservations and was still pretty empty. While this was a very trying week for all of Boston the other venues were bustling that night. The food was spectacular and the service as good as I have ever seen in the North end. The ambiance on the second floor was spectacular. We will certainly return on our next Boston visit."

"Overall it was a nice evening, however it could gave been better. was disappointed in the service. The food came out so quick that i felt rushed. We had to ask for pepper and when he came To the table, he only gave it to one person and left without offering it to the whole table. We had to request him to come back. When we ordered our wine, the waiter had trouble opening it, then dribbled red wine on the tablecloth. Our wine glasses were empty before When our meal came we asked for snother bottle of wine. Just seems like the rythym of the Dinner was off. Our waiter seemed inexperienced. Food was good, not great. For the price I expected more. The melissa salad had way too much goat cheese. Very nice ambiance."

"My wife and I went to Tresca during restaurant week. Our reservation was for 6:00 PM. They didn't skimp on anything. We sat at a table directly in front of a window that overlooked the sidewalk. As there were only two other people in the dining area it was very quiet and romantic. The service was attentive without being intrusive. The three courses were outstanding. Tresca has become our new favorite in the North End."

"This is the third time I've been here, and the food is always phenomenal! I have yet to come across a menu item that I or anyone at my table didn't like. This restaurant SHOULD have gotten 5 stars, however the night we went the restaurant was over booked for a function and we were stuck at a little side table behind the stairs on the noisy main level - even though I made reservations weeks in advance as we were celebrating my and my mothers birthdays! If I had known they were over booked I would have gladly rescheduled than sat where we were."

"Basically - the place is run on auto pilot with little passion except for moving people through the place. You know when the waiter suggests the most expensive item on the menu it all about to go downhill. Save your money and calories and go have a cannoli at Mike's across the street!"

"We LOVED Tresca. It was a last minute decision to have dinner in the North End and having recently moved to Boston we didn't know what a good selection would be. The management team greeted us upon arrival and directed us to their cozy bar for a drink because we were a little too early for our reservation. The drinks were delicious and the pours were generous.
Our table in the Dining room upstairs was dimly lit and had a very warm feeling about it. We were seated right next to the fire which only added more charm. The ambiance was fantastic. Our meals were incredible .the short ribs were fall off the bone incredible and a huge portion. Everyone at our table was impressed with the food.
We will definitely be back."

"We had wonderful service. The food was exceptional and the host,Ray Bourque, came over and had a conversation with us. The upstairs dining room has a great ambiance and the fire place was glowing. We would definitely return to Tresca's and recommend it."

"I chose to eat at Tresca for my birthday from my husband, initially because I am a fan of Paul Geary and had read he was part owner of the restaurant and the reviews were amazing. We arrived early and had drinks at the bar which was busy but we were able to find a seat. We were taken to our table on time. The service was outstanding, we wanted for nothing. The food was delicious! We most certainly be returning on our next trip to Boston."

"My husband and I went to Tresca for dinner on his birthday. We arrived to restaurant and were seated right away although weren't a big fan of the area. They quickly noted that it was a quieter section, but that they would gladly move us elsewhere. The other section was definitely lively, but very comfortable. Our waiter was wonderful. He only recommended a wine once he knew what he were eating...and it was a great choice that complimented both of our meals. I ordered the short ribs while my husband ordered the gnocchi. Both dishes were out of this world good. We ordered a dessert with nutella that was a little dry, but still very tasty. We're definitely going back."

"We tried Tresca last night with family from out of town and had a wonderful experience. We live right on Hanover St. so it was just a quick walk in freezing air last night. The service was fantastic, very attentive, kept all of our beverages full all the while being courteous and informative. Wonderful! We will absolutely be back!"

I wasn't prepared for the elevated noise level, I had expected I'd be able to converse with my date without seeming to yell. "Tresca was really good - quiet on a Tuesday evening before a Bruins game. Most of the dishes on the menu feature seafood of some sort. It was well-prepared and the service was very attentive. "We loved it. Our waiter was very attentive without hovering, and the timing of the courses was perfect for a relaxed meal, without making us wait on our food. Our waiter was very familiar with the wine list, and helped with some selections. THe food was very good. We were a party of 5, and had a range of courses from the menu. Everyone was pleased with their meal. I had the Terra e Mare Fra Diavalo (beef tenderloin, and lobster tail), and my only negative was that the lobster could have been spicier to qualify for the name. MY waiter offered a spicier version upfront, but not being familiar with the kitchen there, I had it prepared as it normally is. I should have asked them to step it up. Overall, very strong experience."

"The Saturday night was very busy and sometimes it is understandable when there is some confusuion, but we got one of the head waiters and you could tell he was about making money and cared more about the large party behind us. We were only two people and my appetizer and main dish were not what I ordered when they came out. The kitchen was fast to get the correct orders back out. The food was good and tasty. The only critique of the food I could say is that the fradiavolo sauce was more of a tomato bouliabase and should have been spicier. The steak was good but maybe could have been seasoned more."
