"This was my fourth visit to Aixois and I like it better each time I go. This time it was a "girls' night" with my sister. We sat on the patio for several hours and had a great time. We were right under the speakers so the music was just a little loud but everything else was so wonderful that we barely noticed."

"I get the Quiche du jour every time because it never disappoints. My last visit was for Mother's Day brunch and was excellent as always. My mom had the quiche too however my daughter had the Eggs breakfast. The potatoes were her favorite part and the jam was delicious. If you want good French food, go to Aixois. You are looking for a local, hometown restaurant, go to Aixois. If you are liking for something trendy or gourmet, go to Aixois."

"Unfortunately, this was my first visit and I was so looking forward to it. But it did not live up to expectations. Had to wait over an hour for a simple entree'. Ask multiple times for coffee and were told we had to have paper cups because they didn't have any clean coffee cups! I think we were the only ones with paper. People came in after us were served before us. They didn't seem that busy, but seemed really short handed. Everyone was very nice the food was great, but it was a bad day at Aixois."

"Always a good place to dine. The special Thursday night was lamb cutlets: the meat came with mashed potatoes and green beans and a divine sauce. It was perfect.....My companion loved the mussels and raved that the rose wine sent her off to the south of France."

"We had five at our table and were seated at the round table in the back. The service was superb, the food delicious -- but the noise level in the restaurant made it nearly impossible for us to hear each other. The table next to us was full of loud people and we were having to yell at each other to be heard about the din. I would recommend the restaurant as 5 star except for the awful noise level. We were dining together for the companionship -- and the noise made that nearly impossible."

"I was seated in the larger dining room. Service was spotty and not up to standard of previous visits. My entree arrived while I was still eating my appetizer. Instead of taking it back to the kitchen to keep it warm, the server left on my table and disappeared. She eventually came back to remove my soup bowl. I also had to ask for bread which is usually brought before the meal."

"Saturday lunch, very busy, had a reservation but after checking in with hostess and being asked to wait, at least six other tables walked in after us and were immediately seated. Inital service was very slow, but we were not alone in that department. We didn't get water until after we placed our order. Once our order was placed, service was good. It was pretty obvious the place was understaffed. Food was excellent. The outside tables were the busiest since it was a fairly pleasant spring day."

"We love visiting here. The escargot is one of my favorites. It seems as though you can't go wrong with any of their salads either. The service has always been pleasant. Last night the service was a little slow. I am not sure if our entree's were overlooked, but we had a 20 min wait between our salad and entree. The server also seemed a little green when asked questions about wines and menu items. The salmon and rack of lamb were both cooked well. We will definitely be coming back again!"

"Since we were hitting them early dinner time before they really were ready for dinner crowd, I give the service a bit more of a pass. But food was really delicous, the french onion soup probably the best we've ever had, and the beef bourguignon was amazing!! It's a crowded dining room so don't expect a nice intimate dinner but that is also part of the charm. They could do a lot more in the way of wine service, but passable and enough selections to find something to pair."

"One of my favorite places to go for genuine French food and atmosphere without being pretentious. Their moules roquefort is amazing. The staff are always friendly and accommodating (though they erroneously cancelled our Open Table reservation when I reminded them that we'd asked for an outside table). Fortunately the wine at the bar made the wait for an open outside table pleasant. This restaurant is almost always busy and with good reason!"

"Our group of five arrived on time for our reservation and were seated promptly. There were only a few other diners. We explained to our waitress that we were going to the Missouri Rep and needed to be served as soon as possible. Adjoining tables were served and new arrivals were served. We waited way too long for our food, with no explanation from the waitress. As always, the food was delicious but we had to rush to finish so that we could leave on time. It was not an enjoyable experience. Too bad since Aixois is one of our favorite restaurants."

"We sat at the bar for a casual dining experience. The service was great. Our server was attentive but not intrusive and had a broad knowledge of the menu and wine selections. The bouillabaisse was a lovely find and spiced and flavorful. The duck breast perfectly cooked with a delicious and aromatic rub."

"Had heard of Aixois. Know a guy who uses it as his "go to" restaurant for special occasions and dates. Read the reviews here on Open Table and on Yelp. Some weren't so good, most were. I was undeterred. I offered my date a choice of Aixois, Grand Street Cafe and Cafe Europa. She chose Aixois. I had already made a reservation at Aixois before she got back to me with her choice.
We LOVED it. We were in a hurry as sitter showed up late, we had to drive almost an hour and had tickets to a play at KC Rep at 8. We only got to share three appetizers, Escargo, Aixois Salad and the Fromage board. We also had a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon each.
ALL of it was awesome. Highly everything. We will be back."
