"After getting our table, it took more than 10 minutes for a waiter to attend to us. Ordered the pear salad...tasteless and the pear was the size of a pecan. Waiter suggested the pork shoulder. The presentation of the entree was three pieces of meat with three okra. The pork was very overcooked, dry, and tough. Three of our party returned the entree after flaging down another waiter. We never saw our original waiter again. A manager, we think, came to our table and stated that he was glad we had sent the entree back as he was trying to get the item off the menu. He suggested an appetizer on the house while we waited on a filet which turned out to be just ok.

The restaurant was lovely but the food was very poor."

"Our early reservation seemed to work against us, as we felt rushed to order immediately after our drink order was delivered (suppose they were booked solid, later in the evening, and wanted to get us in and out?). Food can be described as mediocre, at best... the guajillo chile rub on the steak smothered the taste of the beef, making one wonder what they were hiding?"

"The setting and view were outstanding. The service was good. The food was not very special. The servings were miniscule, and the barracuda special my husband was served was inedible, because it was burned on the bottom and very dry from being overcooked."

"Food and service were excellent. Interesting twists on some old dishes as well as some very new items. Staff knew us by name the first night and remembered us throughout our stay. The chef came out and greeted us and made us special dishes for us on our return trips. I will definitely go back."

"The crepe lobster enchilada were disappointing lacking flavor and presentation. I was expecting an array of flavors but it turned out pretty bland. The pan-seared ahi tuna including the garnishing was a hit. The ambiance and service was outstanding. We did have a loud laughing woman two tables from us who was annoying to everyone."

"It is expensive, but you do get what you pay for. The service was perfect, as I expected from the price. The hotel is beautiful and is at a higher altitude, so you have a view over the city from both the hotel & restaurant. I had a blueberry muffin martini (from the dessert list), a medium-cooked tender duck breast appetizer, lobster enchiladas, and homemade vanilla-bean ice cream mixed in w/ cream cheese & served in a bowel of caramelized sugar. Food was perfect of course."

"The best service and consistently knowledgeable staff of any restaurant in San Antonio. The setting is excellent for romantic dining, special occasions or small groups, with great ambiance and views of the surrounding Texas Hill Country in North West San Antonio. The food is consistently excellent. Pricing is commensurate with comparable high-end dining experiences. An experienced sommelier is present to assist with excellent wine choices.
