"We got to the restaurant a 10 minutes before the reservation and they were able to seat us then. I was disappointed because the menu online is different than the menu in the restaurant and the item I wanted to order (the reason I made reservations here) wasn't on the menu. I asked if there was any chance they could make it and they said no, which I mostly expected. After we ordered they brought a small baguette to the table. The waiter never came by to bring us more bread or refill our glasses. The service was standard. The waiter came by once after we got our food to ask how it was. Other than that, when we wanted something, we had to flag him down. The food was good. Pork chop was huge. Gnocchi was delicious. Desserts were enjoyable."

"This restaurant was recommended by our concierge because we had theatre tickets 2 blocks away. I have never been impressed with a restaurant in the theatre district, this was no different. Noisy bar with mediocre to rude service. I was still eating my appetizer when all the other diners at my table had their plates removed, which was bad enough, but the server started putting down the new silverware for the next course. Granted, we had theatre tickets and we told them so. The show was at 8 pm and our reservations were at 5:30. We were done with dessert at 7:15 with 45 minutes to spare before the show. Food was not consistently good. Several dishes were very good, while others were just ok. In a pinch or a hurry, I'd eat here again."

"I love Ca Va, however, Mother's Day was a bit of a disappointment. The staff has seen some turnover at the front desk and with the managers, so it is not quite as welcoming. Also, t he service was very slow and the bread was stale. However, I will always return."

"We had a very pleasant night. The server was very kind. We had the steak with the truffled potatoes and truffled mac and cheese. Really recommend. We had a problem when they closed the kitchen without letting us know and we almost ended up without desert. We complained with the waiter and they served us. Unfortunately, the deserts weren't that good."

"We had excellent, attentive service. The seating is comfortable - tables sufficiently spaced apart so one can have a private conversation. The food was interesting and delicious. This was a pre-theatre lunch - but we woulde happily eat dinner here and enjoy brunch as well."

"I was not at all impressed by this restaurant. It was very average in all aspects except the service which was spectacular. The food with I'm creative and not very French. There was an overuse of mustard sauce is. The best thing I had was the lemon cheesecake and it was really good."

"My advice would be to go to this restaurant but avoid the Plats du Jour. Mine, a Saturday night prime rib, was served cold and tasteless with a dry twice-baked potato and greasy garlic spinach. When I asked for horse radish, I was served worcestershire sauce instead and no one seemed to care about the error. The other three people in my party, however, who ordered off the menu, LOVED their entrees. In fact, we tried this restaurant for dinner because we had previously dined there for brunch and loved it. Hence the "good" overall rating here: Three out of four of us loved dinner. And I must say the drinks were great."

"This was my 3rd time here for breakfast.Restaurant was quite busy.Waiter took my order, brought me orange juice & coffee. I need my "morning joe"so as I waited for my food I was hoping to get more coffee. At least 10 minutes went by. Finally my food came. And even before I started eating the waiter brings the bill then ask if I would like more coffee.The sausage and bacon were greasy.And even before I could finish my food the busboy starts to clear the plates.I emphatically told him I wasn't done.What was the rush??. I wanted to use my credit card to pay and put the bill at the edge and waited and waited.So I charged the order to my room and left.For the price I was charged I could get better food & service elsewhere."

"Decided to go here for dinner after a show - convenient location - but that, it turns out, was the only advantage over just about any other restaurant anywhere else. No hostess at the entrance when we arrived, eventually she sauntered up looking disinterested, the wait staff basically stood by and looked at us but took forever to even pour us some water. The first glasses of wine were undrinkable, and the waiter did replace them quickly with a different wine - I think they were trying to pawn off a long-ago opened bottle on unsuspecting people who might not know better. The bread came wrapped in paper and tasted like it was baked yesterday and left to sit out and go a little stale. I'd continue, but no more space here to dish."

"Was a little disappointed in my meal, I ordered my steak medium and it came well-done with very little pink. I thought the food was very salty and this is coming from someone who loves salt. The french fries were below average. They would not accommodate a dietary request for a plain baked potato. Overall I was a little disappointed and felt that the meal was average. I was unimpressed with the menu selection, since almost every dish was a concoction prepared with some kind of nut. I had eaten here when the restaurant first opened and had a delicious meal. I was hoping to duplicate that meal but that wasn't the case."

"This wasn't our first dinner at Ca Va and again we weren't disappointed. The Beet Salad is a must. My husband is still talking about his Chilean Sea Bass entree. We shared the Madeline cookies with a chocolate fondue for dessert. It was a simple way to end a delicious meal. We will definitely go back for dinner soon."

"My friend and I went for lunch. We have the Chicken sandwich which according to the waiter is the most popular sandwich on the menu. We really enjoyed it. The atmosphere is really good here for happy hour drinks at the bar and just hanging out. I would go again and have been here multiple time already."

"Service was terrible; we had to wait a long time to even get a glass of water and had to signal to the head waiter after 20 minutes to get someone to take our drink order. The food was cold in spots and only passable. A real tourist trap, we won't go there again."

"I had the prix fixe dinner which was very good--however my husband did not enjoy his pork chop--it was dry and tasted like it was done int he microwave. His endive salad with argula was very bland. The waitress was not attentive--took her a long time to first notice us and never came to see how we liked the dinner. Probably would not return."

"We were seated promptly for our reservation. Service went downhill from there. After about 10 minutes, we flagged down the hostess and asked if someone could take a drink order. In a few minutes our server came by with the comment; "So I hear you people are thirsty". Later our food arrived without our side order. By the time we found our server to report the problem, our meals were well underway. There was no "I'm sorry" - the side dish was simply brought to the table after we had mostly completed the main course. When the check arrived, we were told that we will be "happy" to know that we were not charged for the side dish. Very nice decor and good food, excellent location - but with the service we experienced we will not return."

"I was overcharged for my entree by $12. While the bill was adjusted, there was no apology provided, or any other adjustments made. The portions were small, and the trout salad I had was poorly cooked and bland. The service was quite slow, even though the server knew we had to get to a matinee. They seemed to be quite under-staffed and it was difficult to get the attention of anyone."

"A new find for before theater and a delicious one at that.. I have never tasted a more delicious beet salad, and the waiter had no problem with two of us sharing...the portion was still generous. Our plates barely needed washing. I had an amazing organic salmon, my friend the evening's special of a scrumptious poussin. E left for the theater delighted with this experience and will be back."
