"It's difficult to find North Shore restaurants that have good ocean views- often the restaurants will have only a few tables with good view. But Beach House has many tables with great views of the harbour. You are right next to he ocean. This is a great place to sit and watch harbour activity then to go for a walk along the Seawalk which is right in front and runs along the West Van shore for ten kilometers. Check the menu online to see if it suits you. The house has been a West Van restaurant for more than 40 years because of it's prime location. As The Beach House, it has gorgeous contemporary design inside. The food is middle of the road like Cactus Club, Earls or Miilestones."

"I took my girlfriend here for our 3-month date. It's located in a beautiful neighbourhood and an amazing scenic view. Very laid back here as there are people strolling along the water, and at the pier. We were seated next to a window so it was warm and we had a good view. Our server was extremely attentive and personable. Food was good, I wouldn't say I was blown away - but the combination of ambience, scenic view, and service came together and it was really quite a pleasant dinner. I would recommend this place for a date, or special occasion!"

"This is the best spot! Be sure to take visitors here! Reminds me of dining on the French Riviera!

"It was fantastic weather Tues to celebrate a friend's birthday, & one of our party arrived 15 min early in order to secure a table on the patio in the sun! Everyone enjoyed their individual lunch entrée (nice to have gourmet selections without having to rob a bank to pay for excess charges), & we very much enjoyed our shared dessert as well. "We celebrated my husband's birthday last Saturday evening at the Beach House. We were greeted in a friendly and professional manner by enthusiastic hosts and servers. The servers were attentive (but not overpowering) and happy to answer questions. The energy in the restaurant was great! Even though it was full we could hear each other when we talked. The food was amazing: crab dip to start, filet, wild salmon, seafood linguine and the burger. The yams and beets that came with the wild salmon were fabulous. We all shared a Beach House salad : goat cheese, pecans and a lovely dressing.
It is our third time at the Beach House and we will definitely be going back!"

"I am always impressed with Beach House as this isn't the first time I've chosen this location to host events. I had a birthday party here last October and I was thoroughly happy with the service and food especially for a big group. This time I decided to bring my mom here for her birthday and as usually we were happy with the food and service.
However one recommendation is that the restaurant could have provided the birthday guest with a complementary dessert since I specifically said that it's for a birthday. Especially because we did not bring a cake, I thought it would have been nice to have a little something on her special day like other places do. This isn't a big concern though because the food and service was spectacular. Thanks"

"Overall - an enjoyable dinner, although expensive.I had asked for a "green" vegetable to replace the carrots that came with the meal. I guess the chef felt it was funny to put green food colouring or whatever it was on the cauliflower, which, I already had an abundance of white cauliflower served with my halibut. I was given a very small portion of spinach, not asked if I cared for spinich, which I don't. I find it hard to believe that the kitchen didn't have green beans, broccoli, peas, any other type of green vegetable. I wasn't impressed."

"Despite the amazing view and location, I was somewhat disappointed by the food. We were amongst the first diners for the day, and had the distinct impression that the food we were served was not as fresh as it might have been.
Lovely hot plates, yet the food tasted like it had been microwaved. This was very disappointing as other times I have been to this restaurant the food was much, much better."

"A restaurant on the beach that does not know how to cook seafood! Halibut overcooked - sent back. Prawn and scallop pasta - receive 1 overcooked fishy smelling scallop and 3 very overcooked prawns - cooked to the point of being rubber.
This used to be a good restaurant. Too bad they've changed their menu and hired substandard chefs...."

"The manager was attempting to be too friendly and his behavious became very distracting as our luncheon progressed. My wife and I were there to have lunch with friends from out of town and to discuss business. There was too much over the top "friendly" interference by the young manager. The first comment amongst us when we left the restaurant was the somewhat obnoxious behavior of the manager."
