Welcome to the Downtown Kitchen. We have one goal in mind when we open our doors every day - "To do whatever it takes to create the best dining experience possible.' That means buying certified Angus beef, Ashley Farms chicken, New Zealand Spring lamb, dayboat fish and fresh local produce. We change our menus daily according to market and season availability. Our style of cooking is defined as simplicity at its best. We built the restaurant to elevate the guests' level of comfort. The bar, tables, and booths were custom-made by a local wood worker. And we searched the nation for unique works of Art to deck our walls. Music of Blues and Rock greats fill the air. Service is as important as the food. Our staff is sincere, knowledgeable and friendly. They hustle to deliver the best service around, yet take the time to remember your name and how you like your drink.
"We like to support our local establishments but will not go back. Portion sizes were small. Meal presentation was not appealing. Little pricey for what you get. Very loud noise level. Do not like the bread and dipping sauce."

"We like Downtown Kitchen a lot, have been there several times. They just changed their menu and added a few items, good to see a mixup every now and then so we can try more foods. We had the hangar steak wontons appetizer which were awesome. We usually get the sweet potato chips which are great (get the blue cheese, even if you don't normally like blue cheese the chips need it), but the new menu beckoned us to try something new. For entree, I had hangar steak (couldn't help it after the app, too darn good) which was cooked to perfection and wow was it tender, and had a crab cake as an addon and it was excellent. Wife had kitchen fried chicken which never fails, that's a great dish too. No dessert. Service was excellent and friendly."

"The co owner was very helpful for making all the arrangements but the service started well then faded. The Filet was very rare, not a good piece, then drenched in a blood gravy sauce, the French soup was a disaster."

"No Points for making a reservation? Why not? The filet had a rough texture in my mouth and very little flavor and was a bit stringy. The steak prices are as expensive as a Buckhead restaurant but this place is in Canton. Too expensive for the quality of the meat. The waiter was good. The air conditioning was too cold and chilled the food in seconds. Too bad that there are no great restaurants in Pickens and Cherokee Counties."

"A friend suggested Downtown Kitchen to my wife and I. We took a leap of faith and went there on our anniversary and they did not disappoint. We were greeted by the owner who was very appreciative of us coming. It's fine for both casual and getting a bit dressed up. The food was fantastic and service was even better. We'll definitely come back. Thanks Downtown Kitchen."

"Atmosphere was good service was kind and prompt but when our food arrived we questioned if my wife's steak was the correct cut when the check arrived we knew for sure they had charged us for the wrong cut. We showed the waitresses and she tells my wife "I can adjust the price but I'll have to pay for it out of pocket" of course my wife's sympathy kicks in and she doesn't want to go this route. I conceded because it was Mother's Day and ended up paying $16 dollars more than I should have because the waitress brought the wrong steak. My feelings, this was her mistake they should have made the adjustments no questions asked insted of playing to my wife's softer side and sticking us with the bill.... So everything was good BUT that...."

"The server lost our credit card. Everything would have been perfect if it weren't for loosing our credit card which was very strange and unfortunate."

"While not normally open on Sundays the DownTown Kitchen did a remarkably good job serving up a memorable experience. Food was very good. We were met and seated quickly. The historic ambiance of downtown Canton is great. Our server was new and that was the days week spot. That should not deter anyone since that is probably a one time occurrence."

"Had a wonderful dinner and the atmosphere was great. Food was AWESOME and the service was above and beyond. We could not ask for a better time. We will be going back again. Make reservations because it was packed when we got there but were lucky as we had reservations"

"Excellent all around downtown type place to eat in a small town. No need to drive 45 min to Buckhead to get the same meal right in your own back yard."

"Hands on chef came to our table twice, gave the bread pudding recipe, and generally circulated the restaurant. Day fresh fish, yellow fin tuna sushi quality and perfectly grilled, lump crabmeat stuffing - no filler! Wonderful, seasonal sides and the best bread pudding! Knowledgeable waitress, more than adequate wine list, and enjoyable atmosphere."

"Our waiter was very knowledgeable about food allergies and assisted both me and my mom who have severe gluten allergies. Also, my son asked for Mac and cheese which was not on the menu, but the kitchen made him a three cheese pasta that he devoured. The waiter was fun and attentive and our food was delicious! This is a place we love to go for date nights, birthdays, etc...and they never disappoint."

"Down Town Kitchen never fails to provide an excellent dining experience. Chase is the absolute best waiter and the steaks are fantastic! So order a Hangar steak or Ribeye and ask for Chase!"

"Very pleasant experience. We had a great server. She was very helpful, made good suggestions for us and timed the food perfectly. We had calamari and then scallops rockefeller which was to die for! Very delicious. Will definitely go back :-)"

"I moved to Atlanta two months ago. My friend was playing in the band upstairs Saturday evening so I tried to secure a table Friday morning for four. The upstairs dining area was already booked so I made a reservation for downstairs and hoped to eat there and move upstairs before the band began. My party grew to seven so I called the restaurant and spoke with Cory and explained my situation. He called back 10 min later after a cancellation and had moved my party upstairs and put us in front of the band. The food was good and the service was excellent. It was a very enjoyable night of music, eating, drinking and dancing and I would recommend a visit to the Downtown kitchen. The band CORE is also very talented and entertaining!"

"We celebrated an 18th birthday with our daughter and requested a chef prepared coconut cake with our OpenTable reservation. The food was exceptional. The service was timely and table service for wine and carryout packaging were above expectations. The cake was picture perfect, delicious and made the event a huge success."

"The best all around restaurant in Canton. The menu doesn't change much, but the food is excellent. The wait staff is always very friendly. If not for this gem, I would have to drive 50 miles or more to get a comparable meal."

"I found the atmosphere excellent because we were able to snag a booth for privacy on Valentine's Day. Our server was excellent - knowledgeable and accommodating. My dissappointment was given a prior great reputation for food, my Beer Cheese soup was WAY too salty and practically inedible. The Cesar Salad was unimpressive and my filet mignon, while cooked perfectly, had no depth to it's flavor. I was also unimpressed by the addition of a "mushroom wine" topping that was flat and added nothing to the steak. Our take out desert was also pretty standard, but good. I'm still willing to give the restaurant another chance, I can't imagine a second tasting of that soup could be as bad, and the atmosphere was great for my spouse and me for a date"

"Cozy little restaurant in downtown Canton with a variety of dishes. My husband had the hangar steak (recommended by a friend) and I had the rainbow trout with lump crab meat. Both were excellent! We started with an artichoke and spinach dip which was served piping hot. Delicious! Our salads, Caesar and green house salad were both tasty. The bread to start the meal was so-so but overall the meal was very enjoyable. The courses came out in an unrushed service--perfect for us--and our waiter was very attentive and informative. I would definitely return for a special night out."
