Lark Creek Blue
Santana Row welcomes a new dining destination this summer with the launch of Lark Creek® Blue which opened its doors on August 1, 2012. The restaurant features ocean-fresh seafood, a selection of USDA Prime and grass-fed steaks and a variety of globally-inspired seasonal dishes under the direction of Chef Paul Bruno. Lark Creek Blue is housed in the space formerly held by Yankee Pier, which had its last night of service on Sunday, July 15, 2012. The space has been completely renovated to offer casual, contemporary design with a circular raw bar, open kitchen and ample covered patio seating, perfect for warm summer days and nights.

"I made 7 PM reservations on Mother's Day. We arrived, on time, and were immediately told that two menu items were sold out. After telling us they were out of orange juice, the waiter took our drink order. When he returned with drinks, 2 more menu items were sold out. He then explained the evening special. By the time he finished, the manager told him that the special was sold out. We were then offered their best steak discounted to the lowest price steak on the menu, as that too was sold out.
The waiter took our order, but returned quite quickly to tell us they were now down to just two items on the menu, neither of which were appealing to me or my guests. I suspect the food is quite good, otherwise they wouldn't be sold out."

"Our family visited this restaurant for the first time for a Mother's Day brunch. The food was excellent, but the menu was slightly confusing (perhaps because it was a special day). The service was attentive and the interior decor attractive. The location on Santana Row is always an extra dining bonus, with many interesting shops to visit before or after a meal."

"Food overall was great except for the side of asparagus. It cost $6.75 and we were served only 8 very thin spears. Seemed overly pricy for so little a serving.
Other than that, the food was excellent. Two of us had a fish (can't remember which fish), but the taste and presentation was wonderful.
We also shared tuna tartar which was great too as an appetizer.
Service was excellent as well. Almost didn't notice the serving staff at all - felt very private in an obviously open place. Very nice."

"I made a reservation here for Valentine's Day and was surprised to be accommodated with the best seats in the house. The staff did a wonderful job of setting things up the way I had asked. We were sat in the only booth in the restaurant with cushy seats and a beautiful chandelier.
The service was very attentive to the point that they did interrupt the atmosphere on occasion. If the only issue at a restaurant is overly attentive service, you're doing something right in my book."

"Every time I crave for Lobster Spaghetti, I go here. But this time, we were celebrating my hubby's birthday dinner. I had the Lobster Spaghetti while he ordered Steak! We were Surfing and Turfing separately. We also ordered their Ceasar Salad and the dressing was amazing! I also recommend their organic teas to cap the night. I had the Organic Assam Black Indian Tea. Very flavorful!
We even got a complimentary birthday dessert. Awesome!
We love the food, the unpretentious ambiance and excellent service! The birthday boy agreed. Am so happy!

"Had the fish and chips. Very good...great batter and the fries were good as well. My wife had the shrimp salad. Excellent with a great homemade 1000 island dressing. We sat outside on a beautiful sunny afternoon. Well done!"

"Very disappointed. From the flavorless Arnold Palmer (which was presented with great fanfare because it was blended with ice), to the bland fish ic was underwhelmed. The ambiance is nice as is the food presentation. Bug if you're looking for tasty, well prepared food skip Lark Creek Blue."

"We were very disappointed with our visit to Lark Creek Blue. They were out of Petrale Sole and crab legs at 6:30 PM.
The waiter highly recommended the lobster pasta. The 1/2 lobster was overcooked and dry and quite small. The Ahi tuna steak was grisly.
I expect more from a moderately expensive seafood restaurant.
We will not be returning."

"This was my third time dining at Lark Creek! they have great food and great service! I love their carrot cake, the keeper appetizers is good! One of my favorite is their Ceasar Salad! Very simple and the dressing is perfect. The Ahi Tuna Steak is the bomb! It melts in your mouth.

"Had a business lunch there and really enjoyed the staff and the atmosphere. Great food made it perfect. Good lunch specials with adjustments made to the menu to accommodate diet restrictions. We ate inside because of the cold, but if the weather permits next visit we'll dine outside in the lovely patio area. Overall a great experience, I'll definitely be back!"

"Went there with 2 other people. We shared a dozen Kumimoto oysters and the tuna tartare. It was yummy! The food we ordered was the ahi tuna steak, stealhead fish and the 12 oz new york strip. I really enjoyed the ahi tuna steak dinner. The steak was good, but nothing special really set it aside from other steakhouses. I wasn't able to try to Stealhead fish. Our server was great. When we were seated, we waited awhile (over 20 minutes) until someone came over to greet us and provide us with menus. However, once we met our server, he was worth the wait. Funny, delightful & gave good food recommendations."

"We enjoyed ourselves and particularly our waitress. The hostess was a bit officious for our taste, and seemed to be in a bit of a snit. Our food was very good (fresh seafood!), nearly outstanding. Service was great. They do not understand the concept of a restretto espresso at Lark Creek Blue, and this is perhaps a small point, but not for us. Otherwise this place exceeded expectations. We are big fans of the Lark Creek Group, including One Market."

"Food was good, good wine list. Service was sub-par. Had to wait for a long time to be acknowledged by the wait staff once seated. Had to constantly ask for small things like water refills, butter as well as drawn butter for the lobster dish I ordered. Wait staff did not seem to understand that was a normal accompaniment with lobster. Not a good value for the prices charged. Too many other choices to dine in the area to select from. Hope this improves"

"We enjoyed our dinner at Lark Creek Blue very much. We were seated immediately, and our waiter provided very good service the whole evening. Since it was our first time, our waiter gave us many good recommendations on the menu. We had the Dungeness crab cake appetizer, the Maine lobster spaghetti and the petrale sole with sauteed spinach and shoestring potatoes. Everything was prepared well and delicious. We finished with a tasty apple/pear crisp. The atmosphere was energetic at 7pm on a Friday night, but we did not feel rushed. Between the menu choices and adult diners (lots of couples), it wouldn't be somewhere I'd take my 7 year old. But, that was the point of date night..."

"Our lunch started out on a promising note when we were greeted warmly and seated immediately. Then we sat for ten (10) minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Then a random employee dropped off bread and butter. I have no idea who she was as she never appeared again. Note to the kitchen staff: When plating soup, place the bowl on a saucer or plate so that the server does not have to put her thumb inside the bowl to deliver it to the patron. How awkward that was for her. Our server brought the check without inquiring about dessert and/or coffee. We asked for a dessert menu, never got the coffee and I am still wondering what kind of cake was sitting on the counter that we were not told about."

"Service and outdoor dining were great, but the food was not. Other reviews have said it was overpriced for what you get, but it wasn't even about the price for us, the food just wasn't good. My husband's steak and lobster came out cold and when we asked them to heat it up, they over cooked it so it came back well. Gumbo was not spicey at all, which was also disappointing."

The seafood dish was amazing, and the flatiron steak was cooked to perfection. Our guests thought the prime rib was very tender with great flavor. The special cocktails were interesting and refreshing and the bottle of Morgan Pinot Noir was delicious.
With all of the good food and drink the service was the star. Our server that evening was Ken and he was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Our food came to all of us at the same moment and the chef came to our table as well. On a busy Saturday evening we couldn't have asked for more. Highly recommende"

"This is a re-packaging of Yankee Pier. It's still a Bradley Ogden restaurant, but they've expanded the menu to incorporate a variety of steaks. They carried over much of the original seafood items, including the fresh oyster bar, New England clams, and the option to pan-fry your selected fish with healthy sides. And yes, they still offer the butterscotch pudding for dessert.
If you liked Yankee Pier, you'll like Lark Creek Blue... and if you wanted red meat, they've now got you covered as well. I absolutely recommend."

"We sat outside on a nice day. Got seated and had a mix up of who was taking care of our table wit the servers. Took about 10 minutes to take the order.
ONce we got our food however....all was forgotton. They also picked up the tab for our drinks...nice gesture. My wife had the shrimp and crab salad and she loved it. great presentation....and lots of fresh crab and shrimp. I had the roast beef sandwich with fries. Great! Fries were fantastic, great bbq sauce on the sandwich!
Great job, and we will return."

"Since it's a Bradley Ogden restaurant,I was expecting a little more in food quality. Two of us order from the brunch menu - I ordered the mushroom & chive omelet - there were lots of nice mushrooms & cheese, but not a chive to be found; roasted potatoes were nice but I make those at home. Two ordered the hamburger and they were happy with their choice, but again, just a burger w/potatoes. Service was a little slow, but waitress was pleasant - one of our guests had to ask for refill of both tea & ice. All in all, it was just OK. Perhaps dinner service is better."

The belini's were delicious, however they couldn't make enough for our group (5 people) because they didn't have enough orange juice... One would think a Resturant serving brunch wouldn't run out of orange juice 20 minutes after opening...especially when were the only table seated in the Resturant ...the Resturant itself is very nice and the outside seating is ideal, probably wouldn't go back for brunch but would like to give lunch or dinner a try"

"It was my first dinner experience at Lark Creek Blue. Me and my boyfriend expected an upscale and classy ambiance (as mentioned on yelp) and a romantic dinner experience on Valentines day.
- The food tasted good. But, i feel it is a little over priced for the quality and quantity.
- The music on a valentines day was not very appropriate for the occasion. It was very loud.
- The ambiance was also not as expected compared to other upscale restaurants on Santana row.
- My boy friend ordered the steak and he was not asked how he wanted it to be done. Thankfully it was cooked medium rare which he liked.

"Food was good but not outstanding in my view - for this price range. Inconsistent re: portions. For example, the same ordered entre (ahi tuna) for a male customer was, for some reason, a bigger serving than the same dish served to a female customer - at the same table! Also, the management keeps bright lights during evening dining hours which, for most people, interferes with ambiance they expect at such a place. I am not sure I personally would return there myself for these reasons. Especially since there are so many other options at this price range."

"When we walked in at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, the place was pretty much empty. We ordered 3 prime beef, 1 ribeye steak and 1 fish dishes; and it took them almost an hour to prepare the food.
The restaurant is pretty pricey for the so...so...food and atmostphere.
I'd rather pay a little bit more at the Morton's Steakhouse and get excellent food and service."
