Yankee Pier Larkspur is harbored in a quaint historic landmark house built in the late 1800’s. The main dining room seats 49. Outdoor seating is available on our heated patios, serving 14 on the rear patio, and 24 out front with a sandbox for the youngsters. Styled after New England seaside clam shacks, our upscale casual atmosphere lends itself to families and friends, young and seasoned. Our menu includes Fried Whole Belly Ipswich Clams, Lobster Rolls, Live Maine Lobster, and Clam Chowder. Fare from our local waters abound such as oysters and manila clams from Tomales Bay as well as local fish and crab caught and delivered daily by local our purveyors. For those landlubbers among you, Yankee Pier also has great burgers, naturally raised steak and free range chicken. Our all American wine list boasts some of the best from California, Washington and Oregon.

"We called at the last minute to change our reservation from 2 to 3 people. Usually not a problem. Apparently the restaurant was quite booked. We showed up anyway and were seated in the back near a large party with at least 9 kids and 2 babies plus requisite parents. Since we are regulars we had a nice meal despite having to shout at one another. The hostess is a warrior. My husband had his crab fix. We missed Simone."

"We went to Yankee Pier for Valentines Day and other than being overly crowded, the evening was a great success. As I non-fish lover I am hard to please but the petrale over the broccoli was delicious. Cooked just the way I asked for it and not swimming in sauce."

"The folks at Yankee Pier provided an outstanding experience for me and my family. This is a cool mix of kid-friendly restaurant and neighborhood spot. Food was very fresh, environmentally concious and well prepared. We had the crab special (all February!), fish and chips for the kids and the trout - all were excellent. I recommend this place for families as well as anyone seeking a cool, crabshack environment with very fresh seafood and friendly service. Not to mention there is a sandbox for the kids to play while you eat!"

"Consistent as always. We usually dine there every few weeks. I regret we didn't request to sit in Simone's section as she is one of our favorite servers. (Our server was fine but it's nice to help out the regulars.) Crab was excellent - my husband enjoyed his crab cake appetizer. I wasn't that hungry so had soup as a starter and the crab tacos as my entree. Granted they weren't big but very tasty. Perhaps they could be offered as both an appetizer and entree size as they would have been far too small for someone with a normal appetite. I had eaten a big lunch so they were fine for me. Sorry to see that the place was not very full for a Saturday night. I guess it continues to reflect on the economy."

"We walked in with a reservation, the woman new our name without even looking in her computer. We were seated right away. Served water and bread right away. We had a friendly waitress and hostess, and they were having a very busy night. My drink was wrong and they got me a new one right away with total friendliness. We tried a variety of food and everything was delicious, all the way from soup to dessert. We will totally go back. The prices were reasonable as well. It was the best dining experience I have had in awhile. I also really appreciate that they pay attention to the seafood watch."

"Another dandy meal at Yankee Pier with our favorite server Simone. Also great to see the GM, Cheri, after her world travels. Missed her at the restaurant. She's brings something special to the whole experience. And, to be truthful, this time she served the wine since Simone was dealing with a rush of folks.

I enjoyed the local oysters, a taste of my bride's Yankee Salad, the Dover Sole, the Brussels sprouts and red kale.

And the St Supery Sauv Blanc that Cindy recommended was dandy. More like a Chenin Blanc than a Sauv Blanc to my limited tasting palette."

"We thought the food was very good, and loved the side dishes available for the main courses. The wine list also had good selections and was within our budget. We were dismayed at the bright lighting, however. The bulbs in the lamps are exposed, and it hurt to look at them. We love places with softer light at night, which is very relaxing. That fact alone makes us reluctant to return."

"For many years my wife and I have gone to the Yankee Pier a few times. Each time we were really disappointed. We thought, that if the Tavern took it over it would be better. But it hasn't changed a bit. Here's what's wrong: The vegetable choice of raisins in a butternut squash is just too sweet and the squash is tough. So, I ask "What kind of chef creates this stuff?" The scallops are too expensive and too tough, overcooked. My wife had lobster in a bun, but it tasted like some prepackaged concotion. And have you really tasted your own lemon mirangue pie? The mirangue tasted like stiff marshallow. A bad experience for $120."

"A "would be" New England crab shack. The ambiance was nearly right-on without the ocean. The signature dish was "imported" Ipswich clams from New England. They were very nice, but I thought very pricey for the presentation (basket with ordinary slaw and fries)and overall value for the product. My friend had the lobster roll (warm seeped in butter) which we sort of recognized, but while the lobster was plentiful, the roll correct, the meat was rubbery. Perhaps he should've chosen the mayonnaise version? Deep Fried Clams: $25.00 ?????? Perhaps that explains why the place was half full at the dinner hour. Prices will keep me away in a Bay Area awash with far better seafood restaurants. Also, kind of difficult to find."

"Yankee Pier in Larkspur is my "local". The manager, Cheri, is always welcoming, and if something is amiss she'll make it right. My favorite server, Simone, was "on" with her recommendations:
* half a dozen LOCAL Hogg Island oysters
* grilled escolar (wow!)
* Kennebec fries
* a KILLER new side - red chard in garlic and olive oil
* iced tea

I think it was one of, if not THE, best meal I've at at Yankee Pier."
