"We went for mother's day brunch with our families! It was a wonderful experience. The staff were attentive and enthusiastic. The kitchen sent out extra food to our table, which was much appreciated! Overall, our mothers were made to feel very special. The menu was more expensive than I expected at first; however, the portion sizes are comparable, and in the end the food was so good and experience so memorable it was definitely worth it! We can't wait to go again."

"Food was good a little pricy for what was offered. The service was sub par the decor was an eclectic mess but interesting. There was an old guy that was directing traffic in there that was not a owner but a glorified buss boy that was very loud an disruptive to the already small place. Decent wine selection 23 dollars for a bowl of boxed linguini with marinara sauce ale cart was way overpriced. Nine dollars for a house salad nothing special over all good time and decent food . Would not rush back there anytime soon"

"Bottom line - overpriced and not worth it, but very good service. Our food was OK, but not for the price we paid. The entrees were almost twice the price of comparable dishes at other Italian restaurants and with everything priced a la carte, by the time we paid extra for the small dish of pasta that typically is included with entrees such as eggplant parmesan, it was even more! Seating was an issue, too. We walked through the food service area to get to and from our table and were almost hit with a waiter removing a large tray of food from the serving window. Our table for two was so small that our dinner plates couldn't both fit totally on the table across from each other. This is not a restaurant we'll revisit."

"We love this place and usually it is fun to take out of town guest. It is always packed when we go, so usually we tell the first waiter we see we have reservations and they are always very helpful, until our last visit. The African American male waiter looked at me when I said that and replied, "ok, well I am not a mind reader". He continued to be very rude, almost to the fact we about left. The entire night he was rude to everyone in our party, and when your spending $50 + per person for dinner you would like a friendly wait staff. If we go back and he is there again we will leave!"

"I was surprised my seafood feast didn't come with any pasta. After all, we were in an Italian restaurant. The spaghetti dish for my daughter didn't come with tomato sauce, only meatballs and pasta. Another surprise with no spaghetti sauce."

"We enjoyed the dinner, the surroundings and service. The owner [we think] came by our table several times to assure all was OK. Only surprise was the serving size of my dish, smaller than other restaurants. Perhaps that was a result of ordering from one of two price-fixed menus. OK by me, however, if that changes portion size it should be shared. My wife's plate was easily double the quantity, leading me to above conclusion.
The salad was excellent and the lemon tart after the meal incredible.
All in all, excellent experience. We'll live in the Roswell area (about 45 min drive) and it was good enough to bring us back."

"We ate here during restaurant week for the first time. Everything we very tasty however the noise -- mainly from the music being played, was overwhelming. It was nearly impossible to have a conversation with my wife sitting across the table. I do not know if this is the normal noise level, but if it is then I would not return."

"I dined here during Inman Park Restaurant week so I was expecting a crowd. However.. the mussels were over cooked. My penne bolognese was bland. I was only able to locate my server once every 30-45 minutes. I actually felt trapped as I waited for each of the three courses to be brought to the table. I would not go back."

"My first time dining at this restaurant. The food and service were good, but a really strange thing, (I thought)...when I asked the Waiter for a take home box for my leftovers, he said that he was not allowed to do that. I thought he was kidding, but he said he wasn't. He said that people ask for take home boxes, then forget about the food and leave it there. He said it costs the restaurant money in that they had to provide the boxes and bags to people.
He finally did come back with my leftovers and asked me to "hide" it under the table, which I did. This all was so odd to me. Don't ya think??? It seems like, if I paid for the food, that I should be able to take it home....what did they want me to do...bring in my own box and bag!!?"

"My boyfriend and I had the best experience at Il Localino this weekend! Overall the ambiance and the food were simply amazing; however it was the attentiveness of the staff that puts this place over the top. I would say Il Localino is in a class of its own, but the quality of the food is fine dining level, but its relaxed atmosphere makes you feel much more comfortable than a typical fine dining establishment. Every staff member was kind and attentive; they seem to all be like one big family there. I typically never write reviews, but this place has me telling everyone I know that they must partake in this great experience!"

We waited for close to an hour and finally asked about our food. The owner later came to apologize and gave us complimentary shots of lemon liquor. However, my dish - fettucini alfredo - was bad. It was as if a bottle of store-bought sauce was dumped on noodles. Nothing special.

"We love this place. Our only concern was that the service was TOOO fast...we wanted to take our time a bit more and really enjoy the atmosphere and slow down. I felt like they were in a bit of a hurry to get us in and out this time. The two bus women were also very hasty in cleaning up our table, and someone even took my wine glass when i had one more sip left....For us it's a place to go for a special night, so rushing is not how we feel we want to eat. "I just recently took my boyfriend and his parents to celebrate his birthday! It was an amazing experience! It is pricey but totally worth it. The owner greeted everybody which is amazing. My mother in law couldn't decide in which of the 2 specials she wanted so the gave her half of each! Definitely going back! Days later my in laws were still talking about it!"

"Although we had a reservation, we were seated in the doorway. The music was so loud that my wife and I eventually stopped even trying to carry on a conversation. Food was good (although shrimp was overcooked) and some of the extras (limon cello, cheese, olives, etc) were nice. I hope I'm not about to sound like my grumpy grandpa but turn that music down! Seriously had to yell to be heard by my wife who was seated 2 feet away."

"If what you are looking for in a night out for dinner is a place that is fun maybe this is for you. If you like lots of Christmas type lights, party hats, 70's music blasting etc. But the food and service terrible. We had a party of 7, as soon as we opened the menu the waiter was pushing that we all get a salad and just wouldn't take no, maybe because it was only good thing. Small print: minimum one entree per person means you can't get two apps, no spilt etc. Several got the veal it was a paper thin, chewy, tastless mystery meat. Several got the shrimp, calamari, marinara mess. Very bland. Everything came with a white scoop of something very bland, maybe polenta or potato. Very expensive bad food."

"Took my wife there for Valentines Day and had a great time!! We were greeted by the owner and taken to a part of the resturant that had been specially decorated for Valentines. The decor was great and thetables, though small, were very comfortable. We ordered the special multi-course menu for Valentines and a bottle of wine from there well rounded list. The entire wait staff was great always making sure we had what we needed and our glasses were full. They did this and still we had time to talk quietly and enjoy the food which was especially good for a fixed menu. We had a great time and will definately be back again and again!!"

"Was so excited to try this place. They had a hold over ala carte menu from valentines day and the food tasted like it was still 5 days old. Calamari had no flavor unless dunked in marinara, gummy. Fetticini Alfredo was bland and for $22.95 you would think a protein would have been added. Gf's Penne Bolognese was good she said. I was excited and left depresed. Shinning light was lemon sorbet with vodka served after salad. Go next door to Wisteria or N. Highland pub for better food."

"I REALLY wanted to love the restaurant as there just aren't that many quality Italian restaurants in Atlanta. Unfortunately, my wife and I were underwhelmed. Part of that may have been because we had such high expectations based on reviews and recommendations from friends. Objectively, however, the whole experience was a bit underwhelming. I can't point to one thing and say that it was bad, but in turn cannot say that any portion of the experience was great. There was one exception: one gentleman (who we think may have been the owner) was absolutely the most hospitable individual we have encountered at an Atlanta eatery. Based on our interaction with him we'll give it another try, but will go in with significantly lower expectations."

"We had reservations to celebrate my husband's birthday. From the moment we arrived, I felt as if we were an afterthought to our waiter. We sat for 15 minutes before we even were offered a drink, we had to ask to order food. Bread came with no butter, I asked our waiter twice for butter and he forgot. So I finally asked another server for butter and finally received the butter for the bread, although this was after the appetizers had came. We were seated near the front door and it was very chilly that evening, every time the door opened and closed, a big gust of wind and freezing air. The food was good, I certainly would not say it was great. I would not recommend IL Localino to anyone, nor will I return to this restaurant."

"I have been to Il Localino numerous times and have never been disappointed. The atmosphere and food are spectacular, and it is truly a neighborhood gem. Being one of my favorite restaurants, my boyfriend and I made reservations to go here for an early valentine's day dinner. We made our reservation for 8 pm and were not seated until almost 10 pm to eat our dinner. I will definitely give this restaurant another chance, just because I love it so much, but I was disappointed by the 2 hour wait time when having a reservation."

"The food was decent but way overpriced. I don't very often feel ripped off and I did here. The owner suggested a side of pasta since our dishes didn't come with pasta (a first for me having Fra diavolo with no pasta) and was suprised to be charged $14.50 for a side of plain pasta. The Ceasar salads for $9.95 were about the worst Ceasar salad i have ever had. Two entres, 2 salads, 3 glasses of wine and one dessert came to $144. Service was bad, and on top of it i was given another tables doggie bag. I really wanted to like this restaurant since its in the neighborhood but i will never be back. Having lived in NYC and experience "real" Italian food I can say the food at Il Localino is decent but the prices are at least 2x what it worth"
