nine one five bistro and wine bar is located in a magnificent Victorian house: circa 1850. Since opening in 2002 we have received national & international acclaim with 2 James Beard Foundation invitations. The food is simple fare prepared properly - no fuss just great food with an international wine list to back it up.

"Delightful and a very pleasant find for our first dinner in the Keys. Menu was outstanding, wine list is great and reasonably priced. Our server Pete as well as the owner Stuart Kemf were very helpful and charming. We grazed through dinner just trying there starters and several appetizers and of course with a bottle of wine, Fabulous. The berries and shortcake for desert was fantastic. Highly recommended and will go back to try some of there entree and more wines and desert of course."

"I come back to this place everytime when I stay in Key West. the Fillet with Peppersauce and the outstanding Fries are alone worth the drive down to the Keys. I prefer to have a Table on the nice Porch. But also the Gardenseats are great for watching the people on Duval St."

"Pleasent seating on the porch. Good wine list. Worst.mojito.ever. The mojito seemed to be made with tap water instead of club soda. No flavor of mint or sugar or rum. Food is fanciful in preparation, unexciting to taste. Very expensive, but every tablecloth restaurant in Key West is over the top expensive.
Duck rillettes presented in terrine with layer of white grease on top. Once I scraped the grease off, the rellettes were okay. Not enough cornichons nor croutons presented with it, but the waitress brought more.
I had grouper. It had no taste. Very bland. Sat on a layer of spinach with a sauce.
Dessert was okay. Something chocolate, so ordinary that a day later I can[t remember what it was."

"It took us several attempts to get a table at the restaurant before we finally secured one using opentable.com. It worked great,we got the time we wanted and confirmation immediately of our reservation.
We had a lovely table outside on the patio.
The appetizer list was very unique. My goat cheese salad is probably the best salad I have ever had. For the main course we ordered the Grouper and we were very impressed. The fish was perfectly cooked, flavorful and moist. This restaurant was recommended to us by our Inn Keeper at the Chelsea House and we were not disappointed.The waiter was top notch and the wine list extensive. Don't miss this special restaurant when in the Key's."

"This was our first time, we were in town for our ten-year anniversary and made reservations dinner on our anniversary evening. The food was wonderful! I had the Crispy Whole Red Tail Snapper... I'm not kidding when I say this was the BEST thing I have ever put into my mouth. Wow, it was just incredible, as was the rest of our food. Cocktails were delicious, and everything came out a a perfect pace which allowed us to take our time. Towards the end, we needed to rush a bit to catch Eyecons @ La Te Da on time (highly recommend this show!), and our server made it all happen with a minute to spare! I will dream about the fish until we return next year! Thank you!"

"I chose the restaurant for a dinner for 3 girlfriends and myself. Let me start by saying the food was terrific. Not a bad dish on the menu. The service was where I had a problem. The host was not the friendliest of hosts, and not a huge deal but a nicer welcome would have been... welcomed. Our server was frustrated that we asked questions about the food before placing drink orders - he clearly wanted to direct the flow of our meal rather than letting us eat and drink as we pleased. He then disappeared for a while, and when he finally showed up, getting him to talk about the menu was like asking a 10-year old boy to sit through a dance recital. Just an unfortunate experience and set a negative vibe for the rest of the night."

"My wife and I shared a bottle of wine and also shared numerous small plates and ended with the sole mama soup entree which we also shared. Outstanding. We were seated on the porch downstairs which was perfect. The server was very attentive. Overall a perfect evening."

"Our family was divided on our assessment of this restaurant. Two of us really liked everything from the crabmeat and tuna appetizer to the yellowtail snapper and seafood in green curry broth. The beet salad was excellent. Two of us didn't care for the appetizers or the yellowtail (I think the whole fish was somewhat off putting). Our waitress was terrific, and the outdoor seating was very pleasant, and despite it's proximity to Duval St., didn't seem loud or crowded. I would recommend this place to others and I would eat there again, but it wouldn't be my first choice in Key West."

"Beet salad had only a few beets. The food was overly salty in some dishes. The service was uneven. We had to ask for soup spoons and knives and forks since the server took ours away after some of the courses. My husband's filet was overlooked , he ordered medium rare and it came well done. The server took it back but the conversation exchange was awkward. The second filet came out correctly cooked in a very short period of time. The server was very sloppy with the wine not once but twice. My meal was really good. I had the pork tacos appetizer with a side of rice. The fried green tomatoes appetizer was ok. Needed to be cooked more. The server brought us truffles at the end. Nice touch. Overall, the menu is innovative."

"We were in Key West and asked then locals where they eat and Nine One Five was on their list so we had to check it out. Read the other Open Table reviews and based on those we ordered the Tuna Dome. It was fantastic - Lump crab wrapped with sushi grade tuna sashimi. I had a green curry dish with shrimp and either grouper or snapper - can't remember - it was delicious."

"The restaurant is right on the main drag (no pun intended), Duval Street, that allows a great view of the people parading up and down. We started with cocktails that were nice and then shared the excellent pork terrine with pistachios and pickled onions. I ordered the duck confit with lentils and braised chicory. What a delicious savory dish with crispy on the outside but tender inside meat set off with a slightly bitter chicory that just balanced everything beautifully. My dining partner had the chicken with bread pudding and brussell sprouts and loved it, but said there was too much bread pudding and veggies. We tend to eat less food than most diners so the duck would be perfect for those who want a little less."

"I think this is the best place in Key West. The food is delicious, beautiful, interesting.... Very good wine list....and it's on the "quiet" end of Duvall, which is much more to my liking. It might be a little dark if you had a table inside. The staff is friendly, yet subdued...knowledgeable about the food and wine and the area. Highly recommended."
