"Our waitress had too many tables and would never stay long enough at ours for everyone to order. She would take one person's order and then rush off. It was really frustrating. The other two times we have been there have been excellent in food and service"

"Perfectly tempered weather meant having the restaurant to ourselves for 35 minutes. Server Josh was attentive w/out being intrusive & recommended the daily specials of cantaloupe ginger soup + halibut with apples and kale; both were exquisite. I had my usual filet mignon, which always is very good ... but this probably was the best filet I've ever had anywhere, and the side of layered potato gratin was perfectly prepared. My side of poached pear was perfectly textured, but had a hint of licorice (fennel?) that did not work as well as its usual seasonings. Bourbon brioche bread pudding was its usual A+. Love the ease of parking @ this unusual location as well as the personal attention we always receive, and have recommended to many friends."

"We have been to "Bistro La Bon" many times, it's you "Go to" neighborhood place. The Executive Chef, Majid Amoorpour does a fantastic job and makes your meal very enjoyable."

"The food was delicious. The service, on the other hand, was severely lacking. We were seated shortly after arrival, but did not even have a server come by the table to take drink orders, bring water, etc. until we'd been there for at least 10 minutes. This lack of attention continued throughout the meal, though I think the manager noticed, as he checked on us a couple of times. I was also disappointed to find out that the Saturday brunch smorgasbord has been cancelled. I get the feeling that this place may be getting a little "too big for their britches." However, the menu is still fantastic and the food is some of the best in town. Despite a slightly below par experience we will be back, just probably not for Saturday brunch."

"Since we dined here last, the menu has shifted to a focus on small plates (although there were a handful of excellent entrees, including butter-poached halibut, the famous Swedish meatballs, and a wonderful duck breast). Our table of four enjoyed sharing a wide range of fantastic items--we loved the fried manchego (who wouldn't?), the scallop, the couscous, the stuffed hot peppers, the salads--after one of us would try the latest offering they would say, "Oh, I think THIS one is the best." It was all fantastic. The bread pudding at the end was also wonderful. Our waiter was friendly and available when necessary but left us to enjoy the meal. We had a great time."

"For our monthly girls night out we chose this quaint little spot and had a wonderful time. The food is fantastic - there wasn't anything I didn't like - and the atmosphere was fun and relaxing for a Friday night. There was quite an eclectic group of patrons from couples having a nice dinner to groups of friends such as ours. It was a pleasurable evening."

"This is a great spot and you completely forget that you are in a strip shopping mall! Entrees were quite good and desert (vanilla orange creme brulee) was outstanding. We would definitely return. Glad to see a high-quality restaurant locate in Plaza Mid."

"Wonderful pre-theatre dinner. Loved their new tapas menu. We tried the Goat Cheese Stuffed Peppadew, Lavender Chicken, Crispy Avocado & Asparagus, and the Pork Belly and everything was delicious. Great service and good wine list; altogether an excellent meal. Will definitely be back."

"They went out of their way to honor my last-minute reservation w/specific seat request, comping our wine when we had to wait 10 minutes for that to happen. The night's special small plate of house-smoked trout on dilled apple egg salad was subtly seasoned, letting the natural flavorings shine beautifully. Spouse tried swedish meatballs w/ lingonberry jam & whipped potatoes, now his new favorite. My usual filet mignon w/potato gratin, poached pear, + spinach was slightly undercooked from my request of medium, but so tender & delicious that there was no way I was going to send it back for more grill time. Finished w/bourbon brioche bread pudding. Server Melissa did a nice job, thorough w/good timing between visits. Mgt friendly & welcoming."

"Saturday(3/16)was our first time at Bistro La Bon. We will definitely return. The restaurant and bar area look great when you enter. It has a nice atmosphere. This restaurant has very good service and outstanding food. I recommend ordering a couple of the “smaller” entrees in the middle of the menu. They make a good size meal and it’s great if everyone at the table shares different entrees with each other.Very enjoyable."

"While our server Andrew was exceptional and provided a wonderful dining and atmospheric experience, the food was incredibly disappointing. Everything was sweet. It was one of the strangest collection of tastes I have had and not in an intriguing way. Items were sweet that should not have been. The parsnip puree that accompanied my duck breast had an almost sugar sweetness to it that I have never tasted from the normally, moderately sweet vegetables. The demi glace that covered my wife's filet mignon would've been more appropriate for pancakes. Overall the fopod disappointed my high expectations."

"First time dining at Bistor La Bon and we loved it. Ecclectic and open style. Food is fantastic and presented very well. Excpect to take 2 hours for a sit down dinner for two. We were able to finish dinner in time to catch the 7:30 show of Wicked at Ovens Theatre just down the road."

"We had been searching for a nice restaurant in the Charlotte area for years. We went to all those "top rated" restaurants in the past. This restaurant is under rated by others, and we really enjoy the food there. If someone, like us, looks for more natural flavor, light but rich dishes, Bistro Le Bon is the place. We really enjoyed the dishes there. We definitely go back for many more times."

"One of the most creative menus around the Charlotte area. Focus now seems to be small plates, good variety and choices. Salads were nicely done and not the plain old stuff. Cream of chestnut soup was delicious. Lamb special-caraway encrusted with Rosemary was excellent. Tenderloin over polenta was very flavorful. You must try the brioche bread pudding with vanilla ice cream-great end to a good food night. When we left at 9 pm the restaurant and the bar areas were very crowded; that was good to see. Just wish it wasn't so loud, the sound bounces off all the stark walls. Looking for something different-try Bistro La Bon."

"Bistro La Bon has never disappointed in the 2+ years that I have been eating there. To me the Filet Mignon is the best in the city. The wait staff is courteous, knowledgeable and accommodating. The only minor complaint I would have is that the central air handlers can be a little noisy when they are running depending on where you are seated, but it is not enough to distract from a wonderful dining experience."

"-Too cold-only 6 tables with patrons and the 2 waiters on staff could not keep up with 3 tables each. -wait staff were not familiar with the food/dishes they were serving. -staff acted snooty & condencending towards customers -management had us wait 30 min past our reservation time because she didnt want to "overwhelm the waiters since there are only two of them". As I said above, only 6 tables seated. -due to inconvenience of waiting, was not offered free drink from bar or free bottle wine for table. -after seated, first order of apps taken almost 45 min later-bartender waited on several older gentleman who cut in front of us after quit obvious we had been there a while"

"When we arrived I was concerned about the limited menu selections. I chose to be conservative with the Swedish meatballs. The other 5 guests thought I 'out ordered' them. The parsnip soup was extremely rich but delicious....for those with gut issues it may be too rich. Signature bread pudding dessert was divine. The service was very slow from providing wine list to dessert course....perhaps a typical Saturday night but our server was not attentive. It's the server's responsibility to keep guests engaged when service is slow."
