Complimentary flowers, brunch beverages, discounts for moms, or something similar would have pushed the rating to excellent."

"The manager and hostess staff was unprofessional and the servers were standing in the way of guests. Literally just standing. The guys working the buffet were full of personality and were very polite and professional. A little disappointed with the overall experience."

"The food was good when I finally got it. The service was too slow and the staff seemed to be inexperienced. The server knocked my lemonade over and it spilled all over the table as well as into my plate upon delivery. Therefore, the whole order had to be redone. Meanwhile, the rest of my party was eating. By the time my entree arrived, I was full of soup and salad. I tasted it and found that it was very tasty. But, I could not finish it because I was full. Upon request, the manager came over and offered a minor discount and a complimentary dessert."

"We went on Mother's Day. Our reservation was a 5pm we arrived a few minuted early because we figured it would be very busy. We were seated immediattely and service was good, fast, and accurate. The food was excellent! Their Pomegranate Margarita was wonderful! The view amazing! We will definately go again (without the kids)."

"We went for Mothers Day Brunch. We were unaware the brunch price was raised to $35 for the occasion. The brunch was overpriced at $25. The service was nice, but the food was mediocre at best. I would go again for drinks, music, and the view. I will not go back to eat."

"There is no question, the food was great. The service was not so great, the hostess had us waiting for 1.5 hrs, had us seated outside when we asked for indoors, and the time from ordering to receiving food was long. The ambiance was not what we expected for the price of the meals. The bar is arranged like a sports bar into the main dining area. It was very loud and made the dining experience less enjoyable. Probably will not be visiting again."

"Great location/view!, food quality was poor!!! Kitchen needs help - chef doesn't know how to cook - poor quality of food! Ordered medium steak - came almost raw! Ordered the halibut - do not believe it was halibut, but maybe cheap arrowtooth flounder. Halibut texture is meater. I know since I have caught halibut before. Service was ok."

"The service was terrible. We had a reservation, arrived early, and were not seated for a half hour, and then only after we asked. While standing at the bar (no seats available) waiting for our table, we were served two drinks, one in a broken glass, the other with hardly any mixer (all vodka). We sat at our table a long time before our waiter came to get our drink order. We were so hungry we ordered an appetizer right away. It came out before we got our drinks or complimentary rolls. The food was very good. The view from the bar was beautiful. The view from our table was obstructed by outdoor diners and a canopy structure. The overall experience was not what we were hoping for."

"You can't beat the location and view. The food was ok but not great, and the prices were on the high side. The calamari appetizer was just fair, as were the hot crab dip and rock shrimp. The stuffed shrimp entre was disappointing, with a cheese sauce that detracted from the taste of the shrimp and accompanying crab stuffing. At $34, this should have been better. Same with the paella, which was served with pasta rather than the traditional rice. Those having steaks were satisfied, which is ironic since the main attraction is seafood. The noise level was extremely loud and made conversation difficult, possibly because the crowd was on the young side. Have eaten in several McLoone's in New Jersey and this one was not as good."

"McLoone's was dark, gritty, and loud. The views of the Harbor were fantastic. The food and service were okay. I ordered the veggie burger with fries. The veggie burger was delicious; however, my fries were cold. I did not want to wait for hot fries and asked whether I could substitute the cold fries for a side-salad instead -- McLoone's does not allow substitutes! Sooooo, I had to wait 5-10 minutes for hot french fries. While the views of the Harbor were spectacular, this is definitely not the first restaurant that I would recommend to visit at the National Harbor. I am not sure that I will visit the restaurant again. For Hzppy Hour, perhaps; for lunch or dinner, definitely not."

"The view of the Potomac and the active bar scene make this one of my favorites spots at the harbor. My wife loves the there Crab Cobb Salad while I'm more into the starters like the mussels and lobster and crab bisque. If you go take advantage of the outside parking lot right next to their entrance. Enjoy!!!"

"We arrived right at our reservation time and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Then when seated they told us they were out of drink and wine lists, so we just had to ask to see if they had anything we were interested in. Ordered and the food wasn't very good. Chicken in a salad was very dry, pecan crusted halibut lacked flavor and was very salty. Just wasn't a pleasant experience, hopefully we just hit it on a super busy night and things got bad but I would stay away if you can avoid it."

"My wife and I had an early diner at McLoone's Pier House Saturday April 7th 2013 I was not the best. One of the things that I didn’t like was the lack of caring from this Restaurant. This is what happened to turn me off from McLoone’s.
We were seated outside at a table for two and across from us was a Lady with her 2 to 3 year old Daughter who spilled her drink on the floor by accident and the women proceeded to get on her knees to clean it up. The waitress (not ours) looked at the situation and did nothing. Did not ask if she needed assistance, additional paper towels, could she get someone to help with the clean up or even ask if she could refill her daughters drink. Just looked at the situation and did nothing, not once but twice."

"We made a reservation for Sunday brunch and were VERY disappointed! Food was awful! The only seafood on the buffet was some fried fish and some crab for seafood omelettes. There was only one waffle iron going with a small griddle for French toast, which made the wait for breakfast dishes at least 15 minutes. I won't gone on as it is just beating a dead horse - which may have been what was on the carving board - suffice it to say it was a horrible experience for $30 per person!!"

"Although we didn't know it at the time, the tone of our dining experience was set when the waiter told us he had to try and find us some menus. This was ironic, because most of the evening we had to try and find our waiter. In fact, another member of the wait staff finally took our order and relayed it to our waiter.
We waited one hour after ordering for our food. The dining room was only half-filled, and adequately served by waitstaff. We were informed at one point that they were waiting on the kids meals. "Booking was very easy through Open Table. The restaurant was not as expected. I ordered filet mignon which was not a good cut of meat. Not tender like you would expect. Overall food was average. Although the dress code was business casual, people were dressed in sloppy attire. As for noise; we had to listen to a crying baby the whole time."

"The Peach Cobbler is to die for. The fresh lemonade looks like barely colored water but the taste is OMG!!!!I had grilled pork chops with apples AMAZING. I was expecting a little more from the Parmesan mashed potatoes given the name and the other food but they were fine. My only complaint was I asked to have a seat away from bar cause it was a bit noisy and my husband and I were celebrating our anniversary but the hostess said she didn't have anything however the place was empty and 4 other couples and groups came in and were seated further away :("

"Food was good and service was nice. Didn't like the gathering of the employees at the front door and didn't really care for some of the language used by the waiters especially considering we had our 4yr. old son dining with us and the preparers didn't seem to know how to fix the omelets in a timely manner and on two occasions the omelet had to be thrown away because it had cooked to long, other than that, we enjoyed the restaurant and the buffet. We will dine again and refer Mcloone's to our family and friends."

"I searched for a restaurant with view of the Potomac and McLoone's came up and I thought let's try it. We got there and decided to eat at the tables at the bar, so we had a great view of the water and the people and just a nice mix. We sat for 20 min while 3 bar servers whisked by, that would have been ok except not one said "we will be right with you". We were greeted and received our drinks and then 15min later asked for what were would like to eat. Food came out quickly and was delicious! When we finished eating, we waited longer to have someone check if we were done and to give us our check w/ apology. We then had to have another bar server take our check to leave because our server had disappeared.Recommend view & food ONLY!"
