"Ki is a very nice dining experience, the ambiance and vibes happening in the restaurant are great.
However, the food is good, but not quite worth the money it costs. The bill came to roughly $145 for 2 people to eat sushi (only 3 rolls, 18 pieces total), side of sweet potato wedges (which are incredible), small side of garlic fried rice, and 1 miso soup. Plus, a total of 4 alcoholic beverages.
This is certainly a place to go and experience the environment rather than the food. You can find better sushi in the city for far less money."

"Been here a few times now with clients and family. It's good for special occasions where you want to 'impress' your guests with high priced sushi, however, it's really not all that great if you're looking for value vs. quality.
I've had better quality sushi in Toronto for a cheaper price. Albeit, the ambience is what you are really paying for."

"This is by far my favourite restaurant in Toronto for Sushi! The sushi is always amazing!! The cold plates never fail to amaze me either, i've tried a handful of the cold dishes and each one I try is absolutely delicious! Each time my partner and I dine at Ki we are offered and amuse bouche which are constantly packed with flavour for such a small bite!

"The sushi was good, but the shrimp tempura was too thick and did not have the nice crispiness that was expected. The dinner dish of strip loin steak for $32 was disappointing, steak was fatty and tough. Best to stick to the sushi."

"Don't go to TO often but when I do I expect to dine at KI for an amazing flavour experience. The food is always way above my expectations......menu offers a great variety of hot and cold dishes with very appealing presentation on the plate. Servers know their stuff and are very helpful in making suggestions for further ordering for the table.
Ambiance is lovely however I feel it is a tad too dark.
A few of my favorites are the butterfish nigiri, spicey salmon rolls and we had the hot pork ribs ......unbelievable!!! Hopefully you will allow the server to take you on a wonderul journey of dining at KI. You can never be disappointed.

"We celebrated our daughter's 23rd birthday at Ki - she was given her choice of location in this gorgeous space and chose a private room by a water feature. Service was attentive, but not overbearing. There were seven of us and we shared a tempura shrimp appie, a big selection of nigiri, miso soup and a unique beef roll. All was delish, well prepared and beautifully presented, and the fish was fresh. The crowning touch was when the manager brought over a birthday card and an origami box filled with chocolates for our daughter. Sweet."

"I was very thoroughly impressed with Ki. Figuring it's location in the middle of the financial district would dumb down the quality of the food, and once the first platter arrived, I immediately realized that my stereotype was completely unfounded. "We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere at Ki - dark,intimate,trendy. It's our second visit and will definitely return again. They offer a nice selection of wine. Service was friendly and timely. We enjoyed the shrimp and scallops (brushed with mango hot sauce) and edamame as a starter, Our main course was a varied selection of maki Surprisingly, it was quite bland - unlike our first visit so perhaps just an off night. We didn't partake in dessert and decided to enjoy the atmosphere and relax with another glass of wine."

"I have been to Ki numerous times before for lunch. This time, I found the service to be really bad. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our meals.
Our waitress would come to our table very infrequently. Not used to that from Ki and their staff.....I understand it was busy but I think the waitress should have given equal time to all customers."

"This was our first trip Toronto from Edmonton and my inlaws met us there from Philadelphia for a weekend vacation. We all decided to try Ki and it was the best decision. The food was all excellent, it has an extensive saki list and lots if variety for bar drinks. Me and my husband love sushi but the in laws aren't a big fan, but they all going something they loved and Ki was perfect. Our service was tip notch and the place was crowded but not noisy cuz the tables aren't put in top of each other. I was definatly go back again and again."

We were lingering (read: not going back to work) when we were politely asked to move as they were setting up for the "Raptors' rush" and we moved to a nice table and were comped a glass of wine each. "Food was very good. As I often do at sushi places, I invited the waiter to arrange a meal for us. This was not well handled. Way too much food was ordered by the waiter with little information given to us. We thought we were done after consuming a lot of food and time wise the lunch was coming at en end when the waiter told us that more hot food was coming. We had to cancel that part of the waiter's order. As I was with clients, I did not review the bill but am under the impression that I was charged with all that food. A disapointing experience."

"I had very high expectations for Ki based on its ratings on OT. I arrived for my 1:15 reservation time at 1:13 and the host told me that the table would be ready "at my reservation time". An odd choice of words.
My server did not greet us and offer water for more than 5 minutes of sitting down and did not take our order for another 10 minutes. No feature cocktails or dishes were offered to us or recommendations. When I did ask my server about the Japanese ceviche, she did know the ingredients. That dish was very pretty, but a let down. It didn't taste like a ceviche at all. The wine and sake list is decent and the edamame is tasty. I ordered a cappuccino but never received it. I also wrote a note in my OT reso that was never acknowledged."

"We were looking to find somewhere fun that would still be open after the basketball game at the ACC ended. This place was very close and open for a while longer. The food was amazing. I highly suggest getting the butterfish roll. Its probably the best sushi roll I have ever had. It actually melted in my mouth! My only negative comments are it was very loud inside and the tables were big. I felt very far away from my boyfriend, but that was a little price to pay for the delicious food."

"In my role, I end up eating out with clients a great deal. This place is top of the heap. Unique new style Japenese menu. Although a "hot spot" vibrant place to meet in the bar area, the table seating is surprisingly quiet. Best sushi. Outstanding service. Professional and knowledgable about the food. "Enjoyable. The place is divided into a quite noisy bar one end and the restaurant to one side that also had numrous siderooms for larger groups. A long counter meant that singles and pairs could sit quite happpily and sample while the remainder had tables far enough apart that you could not easily hear your neighbour - in part because of the "energetic" background noise level that was still not overly intrusive. The special dishes were quite inventive and flavourful, abeit in small portions and a better bet than the regular sushi/rolls. Although the wine and beer lists were good there was also an extensive sake list. Most were cold but I tried the warm Niigata sake, which was refeshing and quite delciious. Worth going back for!"

"The restaurant was freezing with air blowing everywhere. I was there on a date, wearing a dress and was extremely uncomfortable the entire time I was there. Even my boyfriend was cold in his long-sleeve dress shirt. We got two maki rolls (6 pieces each) and a hot plate, dessert, drinks and green tea totaling $110. I dont mind expensive restaurants if the atmosphere and food is worth it but it is definitely not in this case. We ordered green tea with our desserts and we each ordered separate ones and they did not even inform us that it was an ENTIRE pot of green tea which we could share, so instead we paid for two ($10) when all we wanted was a cup each."
