"Servers were friendly and knowledgable, food outstanding. Had the oysters to start...super fresh. Beef tenderloin was delicious. Creme brûlée was unique and wonderful. Lots of delicious local wines and they're happy to make recommendations.
Came 2nd night (Sun) for late night drinks and snacks. Signature Caesar was perfect. Sadly, though, there wasn't really a late night food menu...just the regular appetizers. Would be nice to have a few late night munchie options."

"The food at AG is top notch. Beef filet with almond brie crust, etc. served on cranberry, fois gras jus. Floating Island, with poached, not baked, meringue, filled with chestnut mousse, served on icewine-poached pear puree. Even better than it sounds. Along with the regular seasonal menu, they have a 3-course, seasonal prix fixe menu with optional wine parings.
The only thing I didn't love about AG was the RED in the the decor. Once inside the hotel, the restaurant is not well signed. It's actually down in the basement. Most of the fixtures and finishes are lovely, but they have red curtains, red faux paint that make you feel like your in a night club, not a fine dining establishment. Don't let that stop you from going though!"

"The food, I honestly can't think of what to say! It's so flavourful with every bite! I had the duck and it was so tender an juicy. My boyfriend had the tenderloin and it was cooked to perfection. Everything was amazing and our server was very knowledgable paired our wine to our dinner suggested the bone marrow (meat butter it's so smooth and delish!) the atmosphere was very nice dim lighting and a nice soothing piano in the back ground . I would recommend AG to anyone looking for a full flavour dining experience who's staff is very knowldgable of their menus and will go above and beyond to meet your needs! My hat off to the chef!"

"Came here during an overnight stay at Niagara-on-the-Lake.
Was not feeling particularly hungry after feasting at other restaurants throughout the day, but AG had food that was prepared so impeccably, we had no problems cleaning off our plates. The venison tartar that arrived compliments of the chef was a pleasant surprise and gave a good clue as to how much pride the chefs take in their food.
Service was pleasant and the atmosphere created by the live music really enhanced the entire dining experience. Price is incredibly reasonable considering the portion sizes and quality. Would absolutely recommend to any friends visiting the area."

"AG was suggested to us by Niagara Vintage Wine Tours. We love local, thoughtfully prepared food a'la Alice Waters, and AG hit the mark on everything. We chose the special Farm to Fork meal with wine pairings, and every bite was a symphony of flavor. Our last vacation was to France, and the food at the AG still surpassed our wildest dreams. Make a point to find this restaurant, tucked into the Sterling Inn and Spa. Memorable cuisine."

"Outstanding service, food and value! I would put this restaurant on par with many big name places in Chicago or New York. The food was amazingly fresh and wonderfully seasoned. I started with the smoked salmon terrine and the wife had the marinated flank steak, both were cooked and presented perfectly and the flavored sang. For entree I had the venison loin and the wife had the duck confit and we both loved each dish. The duck was one of the best duck confits we've ever had and the venison was mouthwatering. The service was very welled paced and our server was very helpful and knowledgable."

"I am so happy I found this place. It is off the main area a little, but worth going. The staff were tentative and provided everything we needed and more. The chef provided a little appetizer, as a compliment, that was fantastic. The cocktails were delicious and not over priced. The food was superb in everyway. My wife and I went to a different restaurant the night before and were disappointed. This place made up for it. We loved the fresh local food and you could tell the chef cared about the food quality. I loved that the waitstaff would detail what you ordered when it was brought to the table. The atmosphere was romantic and quite, which made it a very special night."

"Surroundings and ambience was fantastic, food was amazing and wonderfully prepared. My girlfriend and I consider ourselves "normal" people (she's a nurse and I'm in the army) but I felt insulted and border line offended by how our waitress seemed to look down her nose at us because we had never been there and were asking some questions. She then proceeded to ignore us but lucky enough for us one of her fellow waitress' picked up her slack and served us wonderfully giving us better service than our assigned waitress. Overall we had a great meal and I loved the restaurant and I would highly recommend it, well done."

"Entrees were excellent. We had the pork duo, hen and silver trout. Overall very good the only issue with the food is that the dessert bundt cake and chocolate torte was very dry.
The service was also very attentive but it took a long time for entrees to come out after the appetizer and then it took about 10 minutes for someone to come and give us our coats.
We were waiting by the back exit for someone to acknowledge us."

"The restaurant is in the basement and upon arriving look for the "Dining Room". We arrived (as we realized later) at the side entrance rather than through the spa's main entrance and were not sure we had found the right spot despite the AG sign outside. Food was very good with local fare as advertised. Decor could be called romantic if one's taste goes to sheer red curtains, leather and too much red. Local wines (one is in Niagara) as expected. We were there on a Sunday evening of a long winter weekend and the energy was low. Perhaps a full house and higher energy would have made the experience more appealing."

"I came here with my wife for Valentine's Day. I thought it would be crowded but it was relatively empty when we showed up. The building is very unassuming. There's no valet service just a self parking lot.
The food follows a Californian-Cuisine philosophy... using local resources to prepare the meals. The end results are fresh and creative entrees and a surprising wine list. A few of the dishes were a bit too salty for my taste but overall I thought they did a great job of meal prep/execution and presentation."

"We had an absolutley wonderful dinner, the service was very good and the menu had very interesting choices. In fact everything sounded so delicious it was difficult to choose an entree. We were talking the next day about how tasty and flavourful the meal was."

"This was our second time eating at the AG restaurant and we really enjoyed it. The food and service were very good, and it is really nice inside. Also, the little bit we got to listen to the band was enjoyable. We went on a Friday night and it seemed a bit quieter in the restaurant than usual, but that was likely because of the weather. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to go on a date."

"My boyfriend and I went for dessert on my birthday. It was outstanding. The mixed drinks and desserts were incredible. They had a good wine list and had Sortilege, the Quebec maple whisky. I cannot wait to try dinner here sometime."
