CAFE KATi's sumptuous combinations of fresh local ingredients and Asian spices have excited San Franciscans for 20 years. Our daily menu presents a range of choices to delight diners craving novelty and comfort. Centerpiece ingredients include "line caught" fish, organic meats and regionally farmed produce. Our well-priced wine list is extensive, with our favorites being treasures from small production wineries. We started with the philosophy of being a friendly neighborhood restaurant with some of the best food and wine in town. Whether you prefer a leisurely multi course dinner or share plates and a glass of wine, we just want you to have a good time. "We ate early but that should not have meant that the food was barely warm, they forgot to bring the potatoes that went with my dish until the end of the meal and they did not have the dessert we ordered. They did comp the dessert and also gave us ice cream with chocotale sauce. The decor is dreary and unpleasant. The wait person was very nice and apologetic."

"great food and good service. The downside: It was too chilly in that small space! They provided some space heaters(look like fans) but they weren't effective for all diners despite small room. Only spread heat to the very nearby people. And one table would keep turning it towards them vice versa! My group(4of us) were not all as comfortable. one person was freezing adn wore her jacket the entire time. Chairs are also not at all comfortable. disappointing in terms of comfort."

"The food continues to be excellent. The restaurant was cold! (not always a problem in SF, but certainly one on a wet cold night) There were fewer people than in the past. Hopefully the economy will not sink a neighborhood gem like Cafe Kati! For those who like quiet, this is a rare time to enjoy the restaurant. A pork entre was too spicey for one of us and the waitress exchanged the dinner without charge for a less spicey one. This was very much appreciated by our elderly guest. When the number of customers increased about 8PM it was hard for one wait person to handle it all."

"We have been coming to Cafe Kati for years. The food, service and friendliness of the staff never disappoints. The atmosphere is more primitive than I would have liked for the folks I recently brought in. It isn't the best decor for a celebration. Maybe it's time for a new paint job, better lighting and cheery colors. Otherwise, we love eating at Cafe Kati and will continue to patronize it."

"This is a cheery little place with cute decor. Soon after we arrived we had to listen to loud grinding--they were blending their ceasar dressing--but after a few minutes I asked and they stopped. Other than that it was friendly with interesting music and great food. The Dragon roll was delicious with a spicy sauce, the hanger streak entry and the scallop dish were amazing. I had a glass of wine which was delicious also. I would go back."

"The food was creative, tasty and unique -- but very appealing and certainly up-to-date. The servers were cordial, warm, friendly, attentive and the engaging owner-chef twice came and and talked us at our table in an open and genuinely friendly way. And we were there on a busy night. We will definitely go back. This restaurant it a real gem and it's hard to believe that it's 20 years old. It still feels fresh and new."

"I was happy to get a reservation the night before our friends 40th birthday. Four of us enjoy celebrating birthdays together at new restaurant of choice. One I went online to Open Table and saw the menu for Cafe Kati, I knew it was the place to celebrate. Everything on the menu sounded delicious! WE were not disappointed. The service was great, food tasted as good as it sounded on the menu as well as in presentation! A nice intimate setting though a little noisy at times. It kept us in the celebration spirit. A sparkler was on the birthday boys dessert along with our server starting the Happy Birthday song. It was a fun evening."
