"I have known Albert through other local chefs for over 20 years. We don't have the opportunity to dine in Tallahassee very often and each time we do there seems to be a sad change, i.e. the chef sold out to someone new, the restaurant closed, etc. Not Albert. Perfect everytime! Please don't leave."

"We always enjoy dining at A la Provence, but the Mothers Day brunch was a special treat. The menu was varied enough to cover our widely-varying tastes, and each item was beautifully presented and delicious. Despite the Mothers Day crowd, our server was attentive and it was overall a delightful experience."

"I just love this restaurant. The food is always good but, on this particular evening, some of our out-of-town friends were in town. There were 8 of us. I can honestly write that the filet I had that night was the best I have ever eaten. Cooked perfectly. Top notch restaurant. Desserts are also great."

"We reserved a table for 20 for Saturday lunch after our son's college graduation. What a wonderful choice! They were fully prepared for us, the food was delicious and reasonably priced for lunch. Portions were smaller than the average "American" sizes, however. Nice menu selection and very good service. For the 20 of us (only 17 showed up) they gave us two waiters. Definitely would recommend for your next special occasion."

"This is a great place to celebrate a special occasion or bring the love of your life. The atmosphere is relaxing enough to let your cares slip away. It is spacious enough so that it rarely appears crowded even when the bar and function rooms are full, the dining room allows for quiet and private intimate conversations. The staff takes pampering the guests seriously. The French cuisine uses local grown and fresh produce, delicately seasoned, and prepared to perfection. We go back whenever we want to feel special."

"After reading the reviews for this restaurant I was disappointed the food was OK the vegetables were bland the restaurant is in need of a face lift for this type of restaurant I would have expected a better decor.
I have to say that I will not return as there are better places in Tallahassee."

"As usual the restaurant was great. The food was terrific. Both the crab cake and the diver scallop appetizers were quite good. Had the roasted/ sauteed chicken(each serving done half and half) The wine list is well priced. Actually ask Bill for his selections that are not listed as there are other great selections. Highly recommend the restaurant both for the food and the staff."

"This is a favorite place for my wife and me, with an interesting quasi-European menu that usually includes a complimentary amuse bouche and a prix fixe option, both missing this particular evening, presumably judged to be unnecessary to capitalize on the crowd the Friday after Valentine's Day. Sorry they did this because it undermines the classy reputation the place has worked hard to develop. Service was also a bit substandard this particular evening. Our waitress balked at the request to substitute steamed vegetables for potato on one diner's plate, saying the cook staff would "yell at her." Bizarre. Anyway, I would recommend this restaurant and plan to return, frequently."

"Glad I checked it out but would I go back? At this point i'm really not sure. The food was really good and I did like the selections that were available. The price for me was a little on the higher end for the portion size that was received. I really thought the appetizers in particular were overpriced. especially when you see a price for an item at 8.00 then in pencil it has been lined out and replaced with 15.00. I was like, "they must be really great tonight". Ambiance I believe, is the key selling point at A La Provence along with some pleasant food and wine as a secondary compliment. It is definitely a "special occasion" place so in my opinion "Teds" will be frequented more often that here."

"We have gone to this place several times and loved it, but on valentine's day (and it was also our 10 yr wedding anniversary)it was awful, they didn't serve the food that they usual do (which was the reason we booked it in the first place). The menu consisted of "how fast can we cook it" items, we drove an hr to get there and was EXTREMELY upset with the menu, we tried to make do, but after getting our food we were even more upset, the food was under seasoned and plated in a big hurry, we tried to say something to our waiter but the only time we saw him was taking our order and giving us our food and then our check. We will not be doing this again."

"Considering that it was Valentine's Day dinner A La Provence offered a very nice non-prix fixe menu, seated us on time and the service did not suffer a bit due to the crowd size. The drinks are well made and the wine list is very extensive. We ordered the escargot, beef carpaccio, roasted beet salad and the pork chop. All of which was very good except that the beef carpaccio was extremely salty. Although we turned down ordering of dessert the waiter brought us a small strawberry shortcake cookie with fresh strawberries, creme and chocolate drizzle to share. Overall it was a really nice dining experience on an evening that can be very frustrating due to overcrowding."

"The onion soup was among the best I have had but the "ceasar salad" left much to be desired. On a small plate there were two leaves of Romaine lettuce, uncut,and a very small twist of pastry on which had been put some anchovie paste. Not what I call a salad of any kind."

"I had never been to A la Provence before but decided to bring my girlfriend here for Valentine's Day.
After we were seated, we were given the special Valentine's Day menu prepared by the chef and was told that the price fixe menu was not available that evening.
Additionally, almost everything on the special menu was accompanied by asparagus, which is something I cannot eat due to dietary problems. When I asked about a substitution, I was told that for tonight, there could be no substitutions because of the special menu.
The food itself was good but not noteworthy and the desserts were very disappointing. I didn't find it to be worth the price we paid.
I'm not sure I'd go again."
